Party kicking lock really?

Why lock the kick when in battle. That is just stupid and for a time the kick lock for battle was removed and i thought maybe they learned something and now they put it back in whats the deal. That lock is just ridiculous and needs to be removed.

  • It's to prevent you from kicking someone at the end of a boss so you can monopolize the loot. Not really ridiculous. Of course, it can be abused both ways, since you can't kick afk's in battlegrounds or instances.
  • This is from another player who doesn't have a log in and it will be copy and pasted so it is exact. As quoted ( Oh ok? so it's completely fine to just go into a dungeon and just leach, and when the threat of a kick comes around just hit a mob and run around in circles, keeping in combat, the party then has 2 choices, feed them, or leave and take the dropout debuff, sounds like a great way to invite trolls.)

Yes, it sucks that a player can hold a party hostage in IM. But you can easily screenshot and send a support ticket to resolve that since they are intentionally grieving.

But how would you feel if you q'd for an instance, got matched with a premade of 4 players who kicked you at the end of the last boss before you could get any loot. I'm pretty sure that would feel a whole lot worse.
  • I've never really encountered trollers on either side of it. Usually where this rule bothers me is when you IM and an inexperienced player rushes in and starts fighting before everyone shows up, and then (of course) someone is AFK and didn't show up, and you can't kick them because the newbie is just gonna keep fighting.

In Battlegrounds, it really should be removed.

In Dungeons, what's the player really going to do? Fight the boss by himself? Kill the trash mobs, get to the boss, let him attack it by himself, die, and kick him 2 minutes later.

most dungeons it even takes about 2 min or more after you die to ress outside, get back in, go to the boss, and hit it again. Meanwhile kick voting happens huehue

Tho I agree 100% with removing this on BGs. It's literally impossible to kick blatant trolls and bots, and support takes ages to deal with it if they're loaded up like new patches. I've rarely ever encountered troll kick votes on TERA, and when you do encounter this type of stupid behavior it's quickly countered by common sense from the rest of the group. It sure happens in CS when someone gets all p!ssy and b!tchy with lead and goes full troll, but the vote ends quickly on a cancel by the majority. Kumasylum was like that too back when it was a thing: it had no 120s rule. People did NOT get kicked out of stupid personal witch hunting or trolling, trolls did get kicked tho when they tried to forcefully feed the kumases and it was quickly solved.

no the kick lock is on individual basis
if u dont hit the boss for 2mins even tho that 1 person is hitting it, as long as u urself stay out of combat for 2mins u can initiate kick

You say that because you want to abuse it... Kicking someone right before the boss died is, for a fact, not cool at all... Loots should be for everyone monopolizing it is nothing but selfish

no. suck it up mate. i'd rather lose a bg because of idiots, trolls, or whatever than be kicked right before we kill a boss to miss out on loot, +vg, +waste an entry.

It should be like old system kick no downtime

IIRC the way it is now unless they changed it you can kick somebody if you're out of combat even if they're not. Which is the best way IMO because it's not likely you'll be able to stay out of combat long enough at the right time to kick somebody at the end of a dungeon but it also allows you to kick trolls.

I think If there is a real reason to kick the group will for sure wait 120 seconds. Seen that a lot of times. All other cases its just a wish to use kick in order to do something dishonest or because they don't like to loose in drop and kick is sorta revenge.

In my opinion, the kick feature in pve is used mostly to get rid of people who want to be kicked for whatever reason, afk people, or elitist people selectively kicking players. I think it's working fine in pve, but for pvp there are always afk people. The kick system should be changed for pvp, but stay the same in pve.

If someone really needs to be kicked and the group would agree just next time say you got to afk quickly and kick the guy after 2 minutes.
