Now is NOT the time for double drop...
While the awakening enchantment event for this weekend is pretty good, I think having a double drop event is overdoing it.. by a lot. Having a double drop this early into a new patch isn't healthy for the longevity of the patch.

And you mean its not healthy for the people who are making money off the overpriced feedstock lol. Us new players could really appreciate it.
I wanted to come in here and say since you're loaded that this was a money ploy, but after thinking about it for a second I agree 100%. It floods everyone with slaughter gear, and floods people with vm7 mats. Possibly even vm7 designs. This early in the patch sounds great till you look at the long term.
The only two good things I can think of is the increased amount of gear dropped helps if people use the new enchanting system and the increased amount of feedstock dropped would be nice for people hurting on feedstock.
Extending longevity is not a part of BHS' content design. After the WH patch, it's always been a race to get the best gear before it becomes obsolete in the next patch 6-9 months down the line. People like to complain that "entitled" players are upset because they can't max their gear within a week, but that's how BHS intended the system to work
The faster you gear, the safer you are in the future. Take your time and you run into the problems late Starfall crafters had: have BiS gear for a week and realize you can't even earn rewards in your shiny new set because BHS wants you to believe the new mid-tier is better. The desire to get your best gear before it becomes trash drives players to the cash shop and forces them to farm harder.
thanks for actually thinking about it. If anything, a double drop would immensely benefit me because I could literally just buy every design that drops and hoard them if I wanted to. However, despite what most people think, I actually do care about this game's health and will always place that ahead of myself. Like you correctly identified, flooding vm7 designs mean what in the future? All the people with immense resources that were only bottlenecked by a design (for example, even though I have hundreds of millions of gold I can't buy a vm7 archer weapon design if it hasn't dropped!) will now finally get that design and next their gold/resources will be dedicated towards getting that to +15 and thus further increasing the feedstock prices (which is what apparently EVERYONE is complaining about nowadays right?).
Dang you must've really pissed off rngesus XD
Yep that's exactly where I'm at, I have all my designs except the Zerk weapon. I've already made my chest and gloves and even +15'd my chest. Versa seem to drop more than the other patches from boxes and 3 vernal barks from dfhm is insane. It's pretty easy to gather mats, the designs are the only real wall stopping people.
EDIT: Also this patch is looking to be a drawn-out and boring one. Only took a week for the HMs to come out and it hasn't even been 2 weeks and we're getting double drop + awakening enchantment bonus wtf is this. I'm already bored of the patch and I only want the current HM title. But dang this is gona kill it for everyone.
+1
I think that "some" players kinda thought to make a fortune from buying T8 feedstock pre patch and sell it at overpriced numbers after the patch which obviously only benefits them because the rest of the player base that did hoard trillions of feedstock or did not get any Starfall gear so far will only struggle through the hard ship of not being able to dismantle the new gear and get feedstock to enchant Slaughter/Conflate ( there is a reason as of why FWC died instantly after the patch even though it was finally starting to be active ) so what is EME doing right now is actually extremely helpful for the majority of players that want to get involved with the new gear but lack the tools to do it. Also, if it matters, i had to invest about 90k to get +12 Slaughter weapon ( ( not including rolls or etching ) on a character that i wanted to play since the Conflate is much harder to get with the current state of the Battlegrounds and the Slaughter is actually -Fourth- in terms of quality at the moment ( Imperator > Starfall > Conflate > Slaughter ) which is kinda mind blowing.
We've known for weeks that treeshark was promising some kinda of awakened enchanting event. If you were too impatient to wait, its hard to have much sympathy.
This double drop is super healthy for people that want to make money, it's not healthy for the long term effects. Kamizuma covered that 3 posts down from yours.
