9 runs no jackpot.
I don't know if I'm not explaining it right or if you think that making someone feel responsible for something they had no control over is just an OK thing to do. I also didn't say that was the intention. It's just a result of mind blowing stupidity.
How about the last Kyra event? What was so bad about it? And, well, they have the PC, including the market magician and, hopefully, a few people who actually play the game. It's not like they had nobody to ask so they just did whatever the intern pulled out of a hat. They chose to do those events without consulting anyone who understands the game, its economy and its players.
I've said this to them until I'm blue in the face. If they don't want to ask for feedback before going off and doing things on their own, they'll have to live with the reaction it gets, as happened here. But, at the same time, I'm trying to provide objective feedback considerate of their worldview so they don't convince themselves to tune players out even further. If we just tell them their decisions are the result of "mind blowing stupidity" and that the event was "a terrible thing to do to a person" (when they see it as a way to give players free cash shop stuff, however ill-conceived), I'm quite sure they'll just tell us to get lost.
(I think they wanted to do something other than just another Kyra's event, and that was probably where the idea of having a token merchant -- the thing they wanted to do for dragons -- came from. But, as you say, it's not only about "good intentions." People judge the result.)
Tell me, why should i make lengthy posts with feedback and stuff when I get the exact same result as just saying "this is beyond stupid"? I started my little anniversary crusade 16 days ago. The best I got out of it was that sticky that barely managed to get to 7 pages in a bit over 2 weeks. I've already pointed out that:
1. Tera NA's official release date was May 1st and every single year EmE managed to start the events on time. I'm still not convinced the CMs even knew that until later that day as Spacecats did admit it shouldn't be completely ignored(yet they didn't think of that themselves for some reason and couldn't make that topic earlier?!).
2. Week long single dungeon/BG spams are bad because people get bored of it. You should know how much you like a dungeon after running it repeatedly on a daily basis. Heck, they thought we weren't getting reset scrolls to prevent exactly that from happening and then decided to make it an event?!
3. Hyping a surprise is a bad idea because whatever you have prepared will NEVER meet the expectations you've created. This event would've gotten much less hate if they'd just said "this is what you get" instead of constantly saying "we got something awesome for you". You must've seen what other players were hoping for, you probably even had hopes yourself.
4. The changing token shop is a bad idea because it leaves people unsure of what to do. Should I even farm the tokens? I don't really want anything from this week but maybe I'll want something from next week and maybe the featured dungeon will be the one I hate the most. What if I buy this item now but then next week there's something I want more but won't have time to farm it? What if I keep my tokens but then nothing I want comes up again and I'm stuck with 100 bravery pots as a reward?
5. So far, the event is limited to high level players. The only aspect of it that lowbies can participate in is that quiz thing that hasn't happened yet(afaik) and that one will be limited to a specific time. If you can't make it, you can't make it and that's that.
I can probably come up with more. But why practice my typing skills when I can just say "this is stupid" and get the same result.....
I do agree the week long dungeons/bgs is a poor event. It should have just alternated every day or every other day with more than a single dungeon to do on any given day. Or maybe a week long one with another one that changes regularly.
I did have some expectations, and did end up disappointed with what we were given. Other than the generic feedstock from the spam this dungeon for the week, the rewards aren't anything I'll ever use or personally want. The current dungeon has smart dyads, but it's probably rare and only distributed to a single person anyways with 6 others to roll against meaning I probably wouldn't get one anyways. The current shop is disappointing and who knows whether it's going to ever have something I would want.
I don't like the shop changing either as an event. It's different when it's something permanent, but as a limited time sort of thing the frustrations with it out weigh the 'fun surprise' aspect.
Unfortunately this wasn't an event we got to share input on before it was put out.
HAHA GUESS WHO IS SPAMMING THIS DUNGEON HAHA
ok i wish it were the unity stole but, bruiseweave can be a placeholder for the time being. :c
shame it's only a CHANCE drop tho. i'll run it 8x a day and probably won't get jack. maybe 1 if im lucky :c
That said, the first week I had a grand total of 11 tokens from all characters.
After one night of Abscess being the featured dungeon, I have easily 3 times that.
I like Abscess. It's fast, easy to play even when dead tired, and I like when I She-Hulk out at the final boss. I needed to run it more anyway for the VG's and enchanting mats, so this is just an added incentive.
Also, I'm REALLY hoping for a Bruiseweave Stole.
I do wish there was a leveling event or Kyra's or something for low/levelling characters. I never really cared that some people were profiting so much more than me at overworld events. That was true with the blue boxes event, and Mongos alike--but I got great stuff that has made me push my skills so much harder and try more things in this game. The swift hardy dyads in particular made me want better gear to attach them to, and, well, suddenly I'm studying dungeons like I'm back in finals again. They weren't the BEST defensive dyads you could roll, but they are pretty good. Which to my eyes made them perfect as a reward.
I've always been a little upset with the people who worked so hard to kill those events, but whatever. Their views on this game are at least as valid as mine. Probably more because they have most likely invested more (and I don't just mean money) into the game.
I'm also a little disappointed that the EME staff as a whole hasn't figured out yet that we don't like surprises. How can I attend a quiz if I have no idea when? Why have we seen nothing more despite being told to watch for announcements? How can I plan to maximize the resources I have if I don't know what I can buy next week(s) in the token shop? I get enough of feeling poor and the victim of conditions beyond my control in the real world, thank you very much.
Returning to the topic at hand--I like your choice of dungeon just fine. I think you knocked it out of the park with your choice of prizes--T11 fs for the easiest dungeon in the game?
And by the way, everyone, when fs or the lollies drop, everyone seems to get it. So it may be more worth it than you thought.
TL:DR -- Abscess may be better than you think. Catservant is longwinded. Surprises = BAD.

It does actually there are ppl that farmed their bucks off to get smart dyads and by running an easy dungeon and getting so many is stupid.
But I agree the loot underwhelming but the dungeon is way easier and faster than other dungeons, so meh at least better than DFH.
My thoughts about this:
1. Maybe the TERA Aniversary date was screwed for the event with the bans and maybe Noesis announcing he was quiting his job in EME offices.
2. Really agreed with you here, I think they could had make the dungeons reward you with a token for dificult level (starts) and those tokens being 100% for each party member and not RNG. They could make BGS as Corsair and Fraywind reward each player playing with 3 tokens per player even in the lossing team plus one jackpot per player in the winner side. They could make dailies give you one token regardless of the other rewards for playing any option ingame. They could add some kind of mongo event with one token per mongo for open world.
3. Agreed with this, most of this disapointment is that we didn't have some sneakpeek of how the Aniversary event is going to be until it started.
4. Agreed again, many prices are to expensive that many players won't get the chance to try them.
5. Agreed again, is sad how new players and casuals are getting kicked from these event because how it was made.
If you will write more I am pretty sure many people could agree with what you think or feel about the event by now.
dyad only are a plus, and of course , they are hard to obtain because they only can be use one time ( for soulblind equip ), and only liitle upgrade from niveots, the only way im remeber was easy to obtain smart dyads was on neo mongos, and again, chance to obtain smart dyad from one of the more easy dungeon only took 2 minutes each run is very good idea, im dont need easy grind for complaint about why are easy grind ... gezzz
Nope. I was running with a friend last night and we were checking out the loot. It appears those items are distributed to (up to?) 5 people. I'd guess they are using an event designed for 5man dungeons and didn't adjust the parameters to fit a 7man.
PS: I was saying those things when there was still time to fix them. But, welp, here we are.
> im realy suprise how eagerly are people, chance to get smart dyad for a 2 minutes run is no enough for this dudes, they still want smart dyad 100% per 40 runs and still complains, plisss
Well 1 every 9 runs (which happened to me) is not evrn close. And that's if you are elite and you reset. People who are not elit are even worse.
Again not that festive to me.
People are mistaking general events for celebrating events.
This is tera's 5th year, it should be huge with gifts everywhere. Not rng and grind everywhere.

I agree with you, it's a delicate balance. You can't be too harsh to them but at the same time you want your message to get through.
Point is, iirc they are on a spree of mistakes and the community is worn out. What's evwm worse, new players coming see that and copy the same behavior. I know we are not entitled to any service but if they want our relationship to flourish they need to step up their game. I ve been off the past year and I don't know how much they have improved but I don't think they have wandered too far away from where they were.
On a sidenote, I admire the calm and thoughtful way you approach the matters. Been a player for almost 4 years now and I see you being a steady force on the forums. Tell us your secret senpai.
bruiseweave stole pls come out and play ;__;
