wut? u gave a pc to ur friend? omg that's so kind!! i wanna be ur friend too!! i dont need new pc. i'll just need a cpu xD

PS: im sure a lot of ppl wanted to tell u about the ini tweaks but talking about it on forum can be bannable. i'd to not tell u for security. but i can see u really need help and if we lose a good player bc of it would be very sad. u can try the ini tweaks for fps improvement. i use potato pc from 2008, not even a gaming pc. it doesnt even meet the minimum to play this game (it says no recommended in EME diagnosis)
i used to have 14 fps in the loading screen. and pretty unplayable in game. but after the ini tweaks i got 34 fps in loading screen and the game is playable for me. 7-10 fps in battle. i know its still low but compared to how it was before its good enough for me. u would say how is it playable, actually it is. i tanked 120 rmhm with it so its playable. some ini tweaks may lower the graphic but i think compared to having a good fps. a bit of less graphic wont matter. hope it helps u.
  • I tried the INI improvements... I can try them again.... I'm honestly lost on what to do.
  • Socbak, it looks like we're in the same boat. I'm running GTX 1080 + i7 6700K and I've tried all sorts of possible solutions to get this game back at a playable frame rate. I used to be able to run this game 60+ fps no problem, then an update happened on May 3rd, and now my game struggles to get above 10 fps :( . Seems to be just Tera because games like DOOM and overwatch run like a dream on max settings. It's interesting to me to see I'm not the only one with a similar hardware setup having the same issue. I'm continuing to troubleshoot, if I find any thing that works, I'll let you know what I find and see if it works for you too.
  • I remember when the world says buy an i7 7700k. but I bought a
    AMD 1800X Ryzen CPU GTX 1080 8GB
    Its a real beast. 80fps
  • Malcome, while I agree and disagree on some points of Ryzen, the fact that you're posting about it in a thread on performance issues which have already been shown not to be linked to the issue at hand, coupled with the fact that you clearly do not understand how single core performance now hyper/"mega" threading works, shows your post has nothing of merit here.

OP, if you're going through all of this, reinstalling BSing, what have you, I submit to you this. Reinstall windows. You don't have to overwrite your old install, you could if you wanted, or you could try and sandbox it in a new windows. This would completely rule out any software or driver issues whatsoever. I know it's a lot of work, but we're over a week in to this, and you've put in a lot more work than that so far, right? So it might be worth a shot.

to get real good fps just downgrade your cpu and you'll get much higher fps

my 6 year old i5 2400 and gtx 960 runs the game at 100+ fps

Thank God! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having this issue. It is just Tera. Prey runs like a dream along with Doom and Overwatch.

My i5 3570K + GTX 550 Ti, runs it at an average of ~40 FPS. Open world around 50+ up to the cap at 80 FPS, Velika on a normal day ~25FPS with all the people there doing their crazy stuff. Worst cases I dropped to 8 FPS only when people rush from gates on CS spamming mount roars and what not. Take note: MAX GRAPHICS, only Light Enrichment on 1 instead of 2 cause that blurry sheet is not my thing.
We can say for sure, that it's NOT a hardware issue here, but some big software screw up.

@NemisBrawler the INI tweaks could improve FPS under no problem situations, but the case is that he's having some huge issue hardware wise now, and in this case just the INI tweaks aren't what he needs. Maybe after it's fixed and he gets around... my FPS (seriously, not gonna be loads better than mine at stock settings), then he could get some even better FPS by doing it, but for now he needs to fix it 1st.

Back at you now @Socbak : you tried the PS4 controller driver uninstal right? And still nothing right?
If that's the case, it does sound like some Windows update that screwed... something we really can't find, happened and the only way would be to revert back to a good spot. Don't know how far you can go back if that's the case, just leaving my version and build here to leave a benchmark of what works:
Windows 10 Pro, version 1607 build 14393.1198 original MS, install from MS boot image DVD (so not the same since Beta days).

Worst case scenario: PC software is kinda like buildings. They can be fixed and all until a certain point where it's gonna take a load more work to fix it than just blow it up and redo from ground up.
Literally sometimes formatting it and starting fresh is a more viable thing... even if it sounds extreme (and I know by experience it's annoying to re-install and re-configure stuff).

    idk lol
  • Edit your ini files and use various 3rd party programs to make tera run decent.
  • Also did you pre-wash your graphics card in a bucket of bleach before using it? That also helps run tera a lot better.

what third party program makes the game run better other than a proxy module to hide other players?

Hm I can't really go back that far. I just installed my OS about a month or three weeks ago.
It's Windows 10 Education if it matters. Got it from where i go to college for free so i figured why not? It works fine with every other game perfectly.
