Ninja crit factor

How much crit is optimal? No one says on essentail mana, and I've heard different things from different people. I read that there was like a soft cap on how much crit you can have before your DPS starts suffering. Someone said 200, but that's one person.

I'm at +254 PVE, +230 PVP.

You need all the crit you can get, Ninja skills have a really amazingly shitty crit rate, its really nice when you have all the crit factor buffs possible in a party and you still see shit like circle of steel, fire avalanche and burning heart doing white damage.

I've also heard that unless you're doing 100% crits then it can always improve, but then, there's also the factor of how much does it improve past a certain point. Like, if you have to spend a lot on new undies for another +5 crit factor and it won't be going more than +1% crit chance... Or will it give a lot.

The whole crit factor thing is quite a troll system to be fair. Could very well give us percentages.

It's just really confusing :dizzy: I had someone tell me when I got to a certain crit, to go power then, and to get power +120

But I'm not sure at all

If there are any ninja masters out there, I'd love your help :)

Watch any guides? I remember on pve section a thread like this was there, +250 crit factor was mentioned ideal.
  • I would like to know this as well. There is any values out there anywhere, just random replies ABOUT crit factor, its use etc etc...but no actual values. An actual reply along the lines like "crit factor X is ideal/optimal, get to tht then build power" would be most helpful to alot of ppl.

For PVE, most Ninjas from last patch were at +300 Crit Factor (full Resized Manor+Blubred, +20 Crit inners, T4 Keen x2, perfect rolls on everything, full Keen Vyrsks, guild buff) base, without Mystic buffs and food.

I guess the reason people haven't replied with an exact amount for this patch is because it's just way too early to say and there seems to be a huge increase of Crit Resist for everything.

However, for Ninjas, I think it is still safe to say that going full crit (highest so far for this patch would be +316 base) wouldn't be a bad idea. Reasons are:

    - Burning Heart does not have a crit glyph.
    - Fire Avalanche should always, ALWAYS be critting.
    - Double Cut should be close to 100% crit skill (with +300 base last patch it would always stay above 90-95%)
    - Circle of Steel does not have a crit glyph.

I'd further test it myself if reducing some crit for power/attack speed(?) would be reasonable, since it appears that bosses have way too much Crit Resist that building full crit would still prove futile, no matter how much crit you stack.

thx for this reply. most helpful reply to this question in the entire world. Regardles if it was for this patch or not, no one EVER replied with any kind of figures like how you did. So thanks very much

So I'm guessing it would be ideal to buy some crit undies then? I have power right now, for the fact that I'm rather confused 'cause everything else is crit and like I said I read that on some classes, the higher the crit, lower the DPS(Like valk). I'm trying to wait until I get a good answer 'cause undies are expensive xD

Thanks for the replies so far, everyone!

Crit Innerwear is definitely the way to go for Ninjas. Power undies are usually only useful for classes with a hard crit cap - eg. once you reach a certain crit, it is useless to go further; classes such as:

    - Brawler (crit is based on Haymaker)
    - Warrior (crit is based on Scythe)
    - Archer (natural high crit)
    - Valkyrie (low crit threshold, around +50 base)
    - Gunner (build crit until 100% 6th hit Burst Fire, then go full power)

If you want to experiment and mess around with crit/power for Ninja, the advisable cheap efficient way is not to play with innerwear, but rather switching Vyrsks, etchings, and jewelries.

    Thanks for the help!

Now if only I could unbind my undies and use them for my valk xD (It said on EM to use crit for brw until you get to crit 331 in total)

actually tht brawler crit is with food, mystic buffs and fury....so minus the crit you get from those 3 and you have your crit for brawlers
