A few TERA tips that you may already know, or may help you

I would like to share some tips that may help players. Basically these tips are for not only elite users, but also non-elite users.

1. Go to highwatch quick & Free.

In anywhere (other than inside a dungeon/BG), you can open "Vanguard Request" window (default key : H) and click "Redeem" in order to go to highwatch for free and without teleporting animation.

2. Go to the dungeon entrance quick & Free.

Similar as #1. Open "Vanguard Request" window and click the dungeon that you want to move.

Then, there is a Button of "Go to Dungeon Entrance". Just click it and you can go to the entrance without any teleporting animation.

3. Quick Ghillieglade reset + re-enter

After getting the loots, you do not need to type "/reset" inside the ghillieglade. Just use "Velik's Opportunity" to go to "Velik's Sanctuary" and then type "/reset" in there. You can skip one loading screen with this.

Getting loot > /reset > loading screen > velik's opportunity > loading screen > enter ghilieglade > loading screen > start : 3 loading screens
Getting loot > velik's opportunity > loading screen > /reset > enter ghillieglade > loading screen > start : 2 loading screens

4. Dungeon tier & Checking dungeon drop list : Accessory, VM mats, etc.

You can see the list of items that dungeons drop by opening IMS window.
And you can also see the number of "STARS" assigned to dungeons.
- Alpha reset scroll resets 2 star DG
- Beta reset scroll resets 3 star DG
- Gamma reset scroll resets 4 star DG
- Delta (maybe coming soon with VSHM) reset scroll resets 5 star (top tier) DG

5. Enter ACE dungeon quickly.

You do not need to go to highwatch in order to enter ACE dungeon. Just open IMS window, and then click "Ace dungeon" at top left. You can enter the Ace dungeon from anywhere.

6. Outfit switch button disappears.

It barely happens recently, but still heppens sometimes. The outfit switch button in your character profile window sometimes disappears (yellow box in screenshot). Do not be puzzled. You can still use hotkey (default : Left Shift + 1~5) or just click any tabs in your profile(costuming, DG/PvP or stats/Reputation) and then go back to the profile (red box in screenshot). The outfit switch button will reappear.

7. Unstuck

You can use "unstuck" in system menu every 30min. Basically it is like "Safe heaven teleport scroll" which brings you to a nearby town or city. And it is an instant teleport without any teleporting animation.

8. Bring your LFG post to the top.

When you are LFGing, sometimes there is a lot of LFG post so that yours is listed at the bottom and people think it is an old or finished run. Remember that your post is shown at the top always only for your party members, but the LFG posts are sorted by creating time.
So, in order to bring your post to the top again so that people can notice it first, you will need to delete your post and re-create it which is pretty bothersome. You do not have to re-type your LFG message. Just follow the sequance below;

Post LFG > click "Edit message" in LFG window > click "Delete message" > click "Confirm" button in your Register party window

The original message will not be deleted while you are opening (editting) your LFG post. Therefore, you can simply click a button to create a new LFG post with exactly same message as you posted.

9. Posting LFG in dungeon, BG

You may notice that you can not click "Create button" in LFG window while you are in a DG or BG. Do not worry. You can simply type "/LFG [message]" and this command will post your message in LFG window.

10. Kick yourself.

Somtimes, you may want to be kicked from the party (LFG group or BG). However, in case people do not initiate kick vote, you can type "/kick [your name]" and then ask people to accept it.

11. Change your POV to other player or an NPC.

Try to "Left shift + Mouse Left click" an NPC or other player. The POV will move to the clicked NPC/Player

12. Check the name of crafting (VM) items.

When you want to search the VM design for your class on the broker but you do not learn and/or know the name of it, you do not have to search all design or ask in global chat.
Open your craft window (default "J") and check "show all" at bottom left. you can see all the item list and can check the name of the item that you want.

13. Cannot see the raid members.
Sometimes, when you join a raid, the raid window does not show up and you cannot see the raid members. Do not be confused. Just open raid window (default key "B") and click the eye icon in any party twice. The raid members will show up in your main screen.

You have saved me a lot of trouble here. I was just about to search the interwebs for the name of Deathwrack items.

Also, I hadn't realized that the teleports had no animation. That's fantastic to know.

    Thank you very much!

Another pretty good tip is to enable boss indicators. It'll show the red/yellow/orange danger zones for most attacks, helps when you're learning IMO since you can see the attack indicator usually seconds before the attack and have more time to react/reposition seeing their exact radius on the ground.

Options > Game > Player Alerts > Display Boss/Monster attack range

Oh, thanks a lot. That is what I was thinking of adding, but accidently forgot about it. Thanks again, and it is really good for new players who are not familiar with dungeon mechanics.

Detail for number 12: On the crafting window, VM stuff is under the 'Basic' category.

This can be occasionally problematic since there are a few attacks that don't show up even with this option enabled. It can also be wildly inaccurate if a tank stops a boss' natural movement in an attack pattern. Good for the first few runs though, but definitely not reliable for hard-hitting and important stuff.

What made me think of posting that was seeing people get hit by EVERY SINGLE ATTACK on TSNM when those indicators show them like 5 seconds before they even happen, few moves won't show, it's more of a help when you're learning/doing normal modes
  • For #6 you can just click 'Profile' tab directly to make the shortcuts appear, instead of clicking on a different tab and going back to Profile.
