Is it possible the box spawning didn't go back to normal after the surge ended?

I imagine it's because of the influx of people looking. I was mostly alone where I look, and now there's like 8 other people, the vast majority of them speeding along on store-bought flying mounts.

Perhaps the rate needs to go up in order to account for all the additional people looking? I know the rate for the event originally got tweaks.

I'm repurposing this discussion since there are multiple other discussions talking about during the surge. I'm wondering about AFTER the surge. Is it possible it could have reverted back to what the spawn rate was at the very beginning of the event? Before @Spacecats raised the spawn rate a bunch. Rather than what it was before the surge.

Since in the 45+ minutes after it, I've only seen one box, which is faaar lower than usual.

    Agreed. I felt like I was finding the same amount as I was before..didn't feel or look like there was an increase. And I was in some area's totally alone too and either found 1 or like none.

    It's because of the influx of players looking for them. Found 26 boxes during the surge (had to go to some deserted places to get half that number).

    I think this rate would have been great from the start, with less tokens in each box.

    Anyone with a shred of common sense thinks that. It's funny how counterpoint kept talking about how they don't wanna do blue box event because some people "exploit" it and then, when they did a blue box event, they made it perfect for those people and nobody else.
