Slayer Class DPS

Slayer's as a class are fun to play, and look great! However, for Dealing Damage PVE or PVP, they are the WORST class in game, a common phrase to point out how easy something is, is to say, "Even a Slayer can do it alone!" point is, why have they been made so poorly for damage as a pure DPS Class? Will EME be addressing this anytime soon? Thank you.

    Some might say it's because in ktera with the talent system, slayers are good. Bhs say they balance classes without talents first so idk, I think they should get some love because other legacy classes have gotten great revamps

    There are some slayer buffs coming soon but tbh I don't think they will put slayers anywhere near valk dps levels lmao

    it's forsaken class just like gunner. while most classes got either seriuos buff or revamp, slayer keeps getting minor buffs. also ICB comparing to deadly gamble or fiery rage is a joke. especially the glyphs. you can glyph deadly gamble for longer effect and less cd, but icb has glyphs for lower mana cost and faster casting of heart thrust for few seconds... not to mention that you're pretty much rng dependant so even with 56+276 crit factor, mystic's aura and crit glyph my measured slice fails to crit. WTB slayer revamp asap :D

    People usually say slayer is bad. But I would say slayers can do as much dps as others but valkyrie tbh. However, the real problem for slayer is its difficulty. For example, an archer player is easier to be a good dps than slayer player. Slayers seems simple dps class, but it is harder to be good like Gunner.
  • Jason put it pretty well, I keep up with other DPS quite well, but most people just think that spacebar will carry them, and that's far from the truth, you have to keep a lot of things in mind and keep your actions quick. It's not the most complicated class out there, but it's not nearly as simple as people think.

    If you think slayer's dps is fine. You are definitely a low tier player and probably only play with IM.

    They are fine so that is why they are getting buff with the upcoming patch 57 and another buff in summer in Ktera? What kind of class that keeps getting buff after buff lol ? That's right. The garbage one.
  • Slayer's dps is [filtered]. There are a few reasons for this:
    1. Slayer has no crit cap. You can build all the crit in the world and you will still miss your crits - and you NEED to build crit on slayer.
    2. Slayer is a legit RNG class. Your dps depends on In Cold Blood and getting a decent proc off of that is like winning the lottery. On top of that lucky ICB, UOHS has even less of a chance to crit than normal OHS. Sure some slayers have good dps, but you probably didn't see all the runs where their dps was rendered sub-par because of not getting lucky with that ICB.
    3. The buffs they've been getting have been pretty bad compared to sorcerer, archer and warrior. While I don't think that every class needs a complete overhaul (though slayer could probably use one) they've been buffing dumb skills and only giving dumb buffs to their decent ones. Take for example Knockdown Strike. They have buffed this skill's damage massively. This skill never crits and has no crit glyph. Now take Measured Slice. This is a huge part of your damage as slayer. They buffed this skill's damage from 4506 to 4956 and added a 0.1% crit chance on it which will later finally be changed to + 0.5% which will actually be somewhat better.

    How to fix Slayer:
    1. Give them a crit cap for at least MS.
    2. Remove RNG out of ICB.
    3. Remove KDS "knockdown" glyph and give it a crit glyph so that it is actually somewhat viable and not a complete dps loss because of constant white damage.

    1. Power creep has steadily left Slayer behind, particularly with respect to gearing for crit factor -- Slayers have flat crit factor increase glyphs on two of their core skills ("doubles/triples crit factor" = adds 56 or 112 crit factor respectively). These crit glyphs scale worse with every patch when more crit gear is released and the crit resist of bosses also increases.
    2. A great portion of any Slayer's DPS is left to the whims of RNG during enrages, since that's typically when ICB gets used and you must roll dice to determine whether one of your top DPS skills becomes actually useful... or becomes worse than it was before.
    3. BHS refuses to acknowledge the deficiencies and problems created by power creep, as well as the imbalances between regional releases due to the absence of the talent system outside of KTERA. Hence, Slayers will only be receiving minor damage boosts in some of their skills.
    4. Other/new classes have received much bigger boosts in power (warrior, valkyrie), some without due consideration for how they interact with different types of bosses and damage mechanics. (e.g. an archer can stand away from harm from some attacks, maintaining their ability to continue outputting damage; sorcs can warp barrior; a slayer must DODGE...) These differences exacerbate existing differences in damage output against sandbag bosses.

    They are still not the worst.

    My opinions to fix slayer
    Nerf Measured slice damage, by around 20%, to minimize the gap between slayers in KTERA and other regions.
    Nerf overhand strike damage and buff heart thrust, knockdown strike and whirlwind so slayers need to manage their rotations rather than mindlessly smashing overhand strike(dare i say, similar to smashing spacebar).
    Fix ICB multipliers, no more RNG. 1.5x constant multiplier is acceptable for putting slayer's DPS in an average level.
    Increase crit chance of Whirlwind to make it more worth to use, even if it has so called 'triple crit factor' it deals lots of white numbers, and surprisingly low damage contribution in reality with powerlink of knockdown strike and headlong rush/fury strike ASPD boost.
    Fix the damage scaling of fury strike, when in full hp it deals only 30% tooltip damage, like 1000+ with 40% damage glyph you kidding? that's only just twice as much as 1st auto. I expect this skill to deal 100% at full hp and 10% more damage with every 10% hp loss, 200% maximum.
    Also fix mana cost of fury strike and exhausting blow too. 300 is a bit much.
    Increase damage of leap strike, right now the damage against floormat is a joke with 5x scaling.
    Remove mana cost of evasive roll and make double roll available at level 1. Look at valkyrie.

    This could be an interest change but the thing why OHS and UOHS are top dps in Slayer is becuase they reset often because glyps, making this skill a core in your rotations between other skills.

    This skill is more for Slaying runs but I concur that is ridiculous how this scales its damage righ now. I like that posible change.

    This is more like, you try to make a combo but you run out of mana before reaching half of it if you don't use prime battle solutions, you even lose mana overtime doing nothing.

    I don't concur with this, I feel this i-frame is good enought but if you mean for PvP purpose then yes, its mana cost is some what a disadvange becuase other classes i-frame mana cost are less expensive than this.

    What I would love is to have a Backstab with less CD time, maybe half.

  • If your DPS isn't good then you're not playing it right. Maybe it is indeed harder to get the same damage compared to other classes. But if you know how, then you won't be lagging behind.
    It's easy to call a class trash when your damage isn't good enough because you're not willing to put effort into it. Yes your DPS won't be sent to you on a silver plate like other classes. But that's just the players we have nowadays. Oh well.

    No. Slayer's true dps is dependant upon the rng of icb. It doesn't matter if you are a god slayer or not, you will not do much past 1m/s without a good multiplier of uohs. You must not play slayer. Do slayers a favor and refrain from commenting about a class you obviously know nothing about.
