Thing i been hope for years on Tera

I wish BHS could redo the enchant/MW system to no RNG at all = =
But then form the games release these years... sigh... it just more RNG...

Playing game is a waste on time but we waste it for fun... not for NOTHING

IMO it'd be kinda stupid to make the enchant system an automatic success each time

Then you'd get all these people with +15 running all over the place, there would be no challenge at all with PVE (Not trying to start that same argument where "None of the content is challenging anyway")

I see where you're coming from, you waste so much gold

But it'd still be a dumb idea IMO, there'd be no point to grind for anything anymore, no point in playing the game

The enchanting on tera is one of the better systems I have seen. In some games you break your gear with a fail.

I'd honestly probably rage quit it that happened too much on me

Yea to be honest the enchanting on this game isn't all too bad. Sure you'll get really bad streaks and sometimes +15ing can take 200+ attempts, but it beats having your weapon degrade/break or your enchantment level decrease/reset completely on a failure without some sort of fail-safe item (which would most likely be cash shop only).

When a game can carry by gear... there no challenge at all.
Waste so much gold on enchant/MW? Gold is a problem on Tera?
Game that break gear during enchant I think only happen on F2P game cause... that a way to milk money or make the game time longer... yet this is a stupid move.

Why every time success on enchant/MW is a dumb idea? Redo the enchant/MW system mean of also redo the mats needed when enchanting.
1-6 you can get it form npc
    7-9 dungeon
    10-12 midcore to hardcore dungeon
    13-15 hardest dungeon
They could also do this way if someone want challenge to have some gear that match you?

At the end... my +15 are all under 30 try... /run before get raged = =

I proposed an idea to this some time ago, but the fact his BHS wants people to lose out on the lottery because it's an artificial way to extend the game's replay value. In their eyes, if you have X amount of Feedstock/Alk to get into +15 with a fixed value for upgrading, then by their RNG standards they can 'extend' how much time you play the game (read: screw you over) by making a failure system that will make you go out and grind for more materials (read: play the game more, increasing the chances of you, or a whale purchasing more micro-transaction items) than you would have in the fixed rate system.

Quite frankly I wish they'd go with a fixed rate for +1 to +12, then Awakened Enchanting is all RNG. There are ways to make it so even with guaranteed amounts of material to upgrade gear, that you don't have people finishing gear very quickly during a patch. Making it take incrementally larger amounts of Feedstock and Alks is the ideal way to do it, but there are other ways too, like extra crafting mats for Masterworked levels and such, that could be harder to obtain.

This is all a pipe dream though, BHS is Korean and they're shamelessly addicted to their RNG slot machine games, so unless another publisher buys out the rights to Tera and has the game recoded then I doubt we'll ever see it happen.

I'd do it this way but I'd put a single +13-15 upgrade mat (no trade)[edit: you'd need to run 3 times atleast to +15] behind a seperate dungeon gauntlet like Dreadspire Uppers but with all the tough bosses, and if you wipe you have to start over from the beginning. That way it's truly optional, not required and gives players something to work at. (Don't try to tell me +15 isn't required in lfg. My friend uninstalled the game after getting rejected so many times on Fey Forest, despite being more skilled than the parties he applied to. Disgusting to see the elitism from unskilled players tbh)

Obviously skilled parties would have no trouble clearing this gauntlet but for example the majority of Fey Forest server would not complete a gauntlet without taking a lot of time learning each boss -intimately-. Obviously this solution isn't perfect but I'm a little tired of +15 being handed out like candy.

What I've been hoping is to bring back old contents that I missed. Just like Alliance, other old dungeons and the old Island of Dawn xd

In regards to the enchant system:

I honestly do not see a problem with it. I mean it is rng based but every failed attempt from +1-+12 gives you an extra chance of success on the next enchant.
You have different types of alkahest that have better success rates in enchanting (again applicable only from +1-+12) so it’s not that bad.

    Now enchanting +13-+15

Gives the rates are bad, this isn’t something that should be easy to get.
Compared to how it was originally the fact that you don’t revert now back to +12 is way better, sadly we had to sacrifice the rates for it
(to those who do not know, originally when enchanting to +15 you needed to get 3 successes in a row, if you failed the enchant it would revert back to +12 and you had to start over. But the rates of success were a bit better than now)

The only way they could make it better is if they simply remove the awakened enchanting from the NPC and make it enchantable normally where you would also get a small % increase if you fail.

I preferred old system where u could farm fodder gear enchant plus nexus albeit the current method is faster imo only because enchant materials cheap

We can count pretty clearly an average of feedstock and alkahests required to +12 a gear, dunno +15 cause no experience on that.
Between 1.5~2K is average to +12 a mid tier weapon. Armor about 1K, 500~700 for boots and gloves each.

End of the day they COULD indeed make an average system, and... weee flat 120 feedstock per try + alkahests OR make their cost/availability a lot harder.

It changes nothing in the end, but could indeed make it less rage prone if you fail too much. BUT: you can dismantle the old gear for the feedstock you used up anyway, anything up to +12 goes into feedstock again (granted, awakened is wasted if you dismantle), I think it wouldn't change anything at all.

You could argue too that there could be 100% success alkahests in case you can farm those, but it still keeps on the same thing: it will be really expensive, and end up as the very same as the RNG based one.

How about using 5k feedstoack and 2.5k masterwork alkahest per awakening enchanting at 100% chance success.

That would mean that you need 15k feedstoacks and 7.5k masterwork alkahest to +15 plus the cost to awoken it.

For both MW/enchant gear I am on the lucky side plus I have time/char to farm it if I want.
( my gold never drop... only raise... )
Still this not fun, all you do is just end up farming/grinding.
Spend the time in it and you gotta gamble for success or not...

There system even worse so we should glad we have this one?
Increase mats needed to make the chance 100% success?
    There really no other way?

    2012 till now I know friend that 500 try couldn't MW a gear ( around knxx )
    I heard someone 25% correction couldn't +12
    I heard someone over 200 try couldn't +15

Game that 100% success on enchant
    Game that RNG on enchant
Game that break gear on enchant fail

I tried all three types, which one you would like to have?
There also one I playing now... limited item enchant numbers, each enchant could have big success, success, fail. even fail also increase the ability of the gear...
Unlike old games, really cant get away form heavy rng and gambling now...
