Our party can run vshm but every run we still wipe a few times, especially on Darken, my game would freeze once or twice per boss and then I was in the fire ring, it hurts the whole party's dps.
That is why I am stressful every time running VSHM bec my hardware problem which is guaranteed to happen would kill the team, not just me. I am really not enjoying it due to that since even I pray, it wont work, and I still dont know what caused the freeze.
For BG, I usually try my best until there is no way to win, bec u could get up to 4 boxes in fwc per win.
there is another one on general too, what is wrong with this community

I feel like I got short term memory lost everytime in pizza XD
Hi Vi, have you run VSHM yet? If you have already, then you would certainly know that it takes time and gold to complete, while giving back nothing tradeable unless you're supremely lucky enough to find a design. For players who don't care about VM9, there is little reason to do the dungeon; lack of financial incentives also makes it hard to get others motivated to even try it out, since designs are the only thing you can sell from that place to make back the money lost on nocts, consumables, and the hours of wasted time spent gathering a group and actually running the dungeon. I haven't found a design yet. No one I know has found one yet. I am honestly curious about your experiences running VSHM, since you seem to believe everyone else is complaining for no reason.
And if you haven't run it yet and don't plan to, then why are you commenting on something you don't even participate in?

Why does it cost?
Time expenditure for one. This, for me at least, is the biggest offender. Finding a group takes time; running it takes more time, especially if you're not mega-geared and have a skilled team capable of clearing it in like 30 minutes. On my server, which is not MT, the time it takes to find people willing to run it -- especially with how laggy the game has been lately -- combined with the time it takes to actually complete the thing under recent conditions, can take ages. In the same amount of time, I could have completed island of dawn dailies on my alts and been more productive from an objective standpoint. Whether you find VSHM fun enough to let that slide is up to you, but in terms of time to cost ratio it's a terrible investment, and so it's no wonder finding people to do it is a task in itself.
Consumable expenditure is another thing. You can call this an optional cost, but most people who don't want to be at VSHM even longer than they have to will generally use a nostrum, a cane/bravery, and generally noctenium unless they're broke like me. They'll also buy hp/mp potions from the vendor and will probably use them throughout the long fights unless they're in that rare group where nothing ever goes wrong and everything's smooth. Even if you just buy a strong bravery potion on the broker for 300g each and the dungeon takes you an hour to finish due to like, a wipe or something, then you're out 600 gold right there. If you used potions during the various fights for whatever reason, that's more gold out of your pocket. If you actually used nocts (I know it's optional but every run I've done has had people going all out and using noctenium) then you're really screwed from a financial standpoint. Whether you used a lot of consumables or a little, the final boss drops nothing you can actually trade unless you happen to get an elusive VM recipe, so there's virtually no way to recoup your losses even if you take the feedstock you get and sell it on the broker, since feed is cheap AF right now.
Lastly, there's the actual gear you'd need to be accepted on runs, not be a drag on your team, and not be a floormat. Even if you just enchanted some misery gear, that's easily 20k+ gold in terms of feedstock, mwa, enigmatic scrolls, ID scrolls, spellbinds, etc. If you have VM gear, that's an even bigger investment, and under current conditions there's basically not a return on it. Like, you make the best gear in the game so you can be more efficient, but when you go and run the hardest dungeon in the game with it you get basically nothing to make up for the cost of crafting it in the first place. [filtered] sucks.
Compare this to the dungeon's easier version, which gives a box worth 1,500 gold, a chance at a lakan scale, and an ungent, alongside the basic vanguard reward. You're already making over 1,500 gold per run, easily enough to make up for every consumable you'd spend in there, and to top it off since it's normal mode you spend less time running it, less time forming a competent group for it, you don't even need great gear for it, and if you really wanted to slack you could legit just use a nostrum or something and run it because none of the fights are any kind of dps race and it's all incredibly forgiving and lazy compared to hard mode. The easier version of an instance should never be more lucrative than the harder variant, but that's exactly what we have here.
Now, before someone brings up the VM mats that VSHM drops -- let me just say again. I think the VM mat distribution was handled really well in this dungeon, but here's the problem: before VSHM was even released, we had a month to farm those mats already. And talismans were thrown at the players for doing Velik's Hold. There is a subset of players who go after VM with each patch, farming the hardest dungeons in static groups for weeks to get their stuff, but due to how events and talisman distribution was handled, those kinds of players who'd farm VSHM for VM mats already got their materials before the dungeon was even released. And because VSHM has no incentives except VM materials (you can run easier dungeons for vm designs at the same abysmal rate), there's hardly anyone skilled who wants to bother running it when they could just spam timescape instead.
Then you have the issue of lag, which renders even the most skilled groups helpless. Just the other day, we had a wipe at dakuryon caused by everyone lagging during his mana explosion phase. It wiped us at 12% and we had to do the entire fight over again. That's more wasted time that could have been devoted to something else, more spent consumables that could've been conserved or spent elsewhere, hell if a player ragequit after that and left then we're stuck looking for another guy for god knows how long -- and for what? VM mats that I already have? Might as well farm timescape instead; at least if the servers hiccup we won't wipe. Probably.
