Should I switch servers?

Not sure where to post this but I will go ahead anyway. So Its been sometime since I returned to TERA and I've been playing on MT. Although it felt nice at the beginning ; I am feeling very discontent about the server lately.

It seems people have become way too elitist , they ask +15 for almost everything. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if I soon see people start asking +15 for bastion of lok lmao. I have done easier and mid tier dungeons already but now I have hit a wall. Every vhhm+ lfg asks for +15 .I even got rejected from several learning lfg's :( I tried making my own learning lfg's but well it didn't go well. Since I am from SEA , timezone is yet another big hurdle for me but overall it looks like there is literally no way for me to learn/do end-game content right now.

I spoke with few friends and all of them suggested me to change the server and join a PvE server instead. I am really confused about this myself. On one hand I have gold/friends and several 65 characters on MT and I am really lazy to work on that all over again while on other hand this elitism is making me sick. Is situation in other servers any better? Is it worth switching servers? Btw I cannot afford server transfer , I'll have to start from scratch again.

  • Actually the biggest PvE community is on MT, and IMO you shouldn't switch. Just join a friendly guild that's willing to do guild learning runs, and start making friends with people you run dungeons with, so you can contact them later asking if they want to join you in X dungeon.
I play on MT, and when I run high tier dungeons if someone doesn't have +15, but has full misery +12, with good crystals, good rolls, and right accessories I have no problem adding him to my party.
    Greetings, and good luck ;)

PS: if you wanna join my guild, we'll be more than happy to have you, pm me on the forums if you're interested!

I tried joining guilds but as I said my timezone is a big hurdle. Usually when most people who are willing to help me are online , I am not and vice versa. I do have +12 misery with proper rolls and crystals but that did not stop people from refusing me into learning runs :(
  • IF you do wind up switching, I think TR has almost as big a pve scene. Probably not quite because I don't think it's quite as populated as MT but it's there. As for whether or not you should switch? That's up to you and whether or not you think it's worth the effort and time to relevel. I enjoy leveling so, for me, it would be worth it. If you're just coming back, too, you might be able to grab a buddy up code and level rather quickly on the new server. If it isn't worth the effort to you, either wait till you have enough to transfer a character or just try to stick it out on MT until you find some friends/a guild with a similar timezone or at least a sleep schedule that has them awake during your time zone. Either way, gl!

Hey thanks for your reply! :)

I decided to keep playing on MT for now and wait out a bit to see how things go.

  • oh hi. I too just reinstalled Tera again to give it another go. 1 reason why me and my girlfriend left was whenever i used a skill there was always a delay and it seems i still have that issue. Anyone know reason for this? And also is there a way to port my toons from server to another? Thanks

    You can buy server transfer.

^ For any questions about transferring servers. And from what you described, it sounds like either a ping problem, or frame rates. Is your PC or Internet connection good enough?
  • Well since you said you wouldn't transfer but start over, if you're thinking of switching why not casually level another alt on the server you want to test out? Even as a lowbie you can monitor the lfp channels and world chat to judge the elitism and gear standard?
