@STAFF-TERA WORLD QUESTION/SUGGESTIONS.

I find the TERA world to be the most appealing part of the game, the BAMS especially were a wow factor for me. Will there ever be some sort of adjustments done to make it worth killing A BAM? BAMS look scary and HUGE but they are squishy and easy to kill. Can't something be done about this? Making them a bi tougher and more rewarding to kill. It also gives players the chance to practice the BOSS mechanics. That could also mean cleaner dungeon runs and less frustrations in group dungeons(which is pretty common). BAMs arent meant to be weak like this. How do i know? Cause we don't even get to experience BAM's full mechanics.

Why don't bosses drop any gold? Elite status has this bonus thing that doubles gold drops and yet there aren't any gold to loot besides, rarely in dungeons. Seems unorthodox to me and not in the good way. Killing monsters outside of dungeons is literally pointless and i think that part of MMO is possibly some of the funnest aspects of role playing MMO's.

The PvP side of the game is amazing. Get to go around killing random people if i wanted or attempt to 2v1 or 5v1 by turning on my PvP. Thats hella fun. Then you have countless isntances where you can work as a team. That is perfect.

Think TERA's flaw is the lack of rewards and difficulty of the PvE content aside from Dungeons. Dungeons are fun but it feels like we're forced to do 1 thing and 1 thing only. Dungeons is the only way to improve our gear and that seems dull. It gets boring quickly doing the same dungeons over and over and over. For the reason lately, ive been just running around the amazing world of TERA killing BAMS and finding new ones to kill. That would be fun if each BAM dropped something worth getting EXCITED about.

Add something valuable, rare to drop from BAMS even if the rate is low like crystals(pvp cause apparently the ones still in the server are recycled from 2 + years and are overpriced on market) or a SF mats or something we actually need to grow our gear. That might help the people frustrated with 40 minute queues. And that isn't an exaggeration. I spend easily 20-40 mins per queue of my 8 hours of gameplay. That is a lot of wasted time. That issue can be resolved by adding a low drop rate of mats for Starfall or higher tier gear or w/e, you choose, while we queue for the dungeons/BG's.

(TL ; DR)

I'm not trying to be negative cause the game is truely fun but it feels dull after 2 weeks of playing the same content. It's too 1-2-3 rinse repeat/tunnel vision style. Give us multiple ways to build our characters. Get creative. Make BAMS harder so we can practice outside of dungeons and not get yelled at/kicked for not playing well. Make BAMS rewarding for fighting something tough(Mats,PvP crystals, health potions, mana potions, charms, breakable low tier gear to evolve it to something higher. Stuff noobies need to become viable in hard dungeons. Health potions is an important one. They are ridiculously expensive for a noobie and a must for dungeons.

Thats my rant :) Hope you guys read it. I tried to be as constructive criticizing as possible without making it seem like im bashing on your effort cause truely the game is fun. Removing so many limitations would make it so much more fun though.

    lv 58+ BAMs have a chance to drop, FC, CCB, SES (random crux, some other junk) and couple of gold. Not much but still.

    For practice, you are more then welcome to slavery IoD dailies
  • Back in the day, BAM's actually took 2-5 people to farm, 1 if you were exceptionally skilled and well geared. Without the avatar weapons.

    IoD BAMs do not drop gold. They mostly drop motes, and occasionally some fashion coupons, crystalbinds or semi enig scrolls. Other high level BAMs outside of the IoD do drop "gold" (silver?) also, however it seems the amounts get nerfed with every new patch. Not really an effective way to farm for gold specifically, though the SES and CCBs can be valuable on broker (if you sell them; I prefer to keep mine as I know I'll end up using them). I agree with the premise of your thread, though. It would be cool if TERA had more rewarding open world content (I mean there are world bosses I guess, but they spawn too rarely to be worth hunting unless you're an achievement hound).

    I didn't say IoD bams drop gold I said 58+ Bams. Where? here for instace




    Ice giant next to Lorgada, Ruin guardian next to HW etc etc. Let me put it this way Bams from 58-63 drop couple of gold.
  • The reason why BAMs don't drop lots of gold, by the way, is because other markets have a problem with bots, so anything in the open world that can be farmed endlessly doesn't generally give a lot of rewards. Instead, most of the rewards come from quests in one form or another so they can be metered. Because we don't have as much of a bot problem here, they've changed the drop tables to add some useful items (as mentioned), but it's not going to be a primary income source by any means.

    Adding to what Counterpoint said, the main reason why BAMS were nerfed so much, was because of player complain. Many players, not saying all of em, constantly complained how hard the bams were to kill. Some quest in the past, involved killing a certain amount of bams, and this quests were the ones who gave a decent amount of exp and rewards to the groups who completed em. Sadly BHS thought that killing bams to level up was slow, and due to player feedback in order to streamline the leveling experience to get to cap faster, bams were nerfed so that even a healer could kill em in matter of seconds, taking all of the challenge away from them. As you can see, the majority of us did not liked this nerf. TERA is self proclaimed the True Action Combat game, but when you enter the game and see this BAMs are so weak, there really is not Action there, only a few hits and is dead.
