Special classes for male characters

I like to self insert in mmorpgs, and since I am male I prefer to play male characters. I also think special classes are really cool, but unfortunately only female characters have special classes. If there were some special classes for males that would be really nice.

    Although I do see where you're coming from I will just state that I think the whole class lock for each gender/race is completly frustrating by itself. Some may make sense lorewise, like reaper back then but I'll never understand why Brawlers are locked to females as most new classes. (Even though I am a girl I definitey wouldn0t mind having my own army of male characters *castanics*cough*) The gender/race lock is actually one of the reasons I never tried some of them.

    By wanting to also create locked male classes the 'problem' would deepen. I can guarantee you people would be crying all over again and soon enough we would find ourselves with more specific classes than free ones. An MMO should be able to offer variety and that is something BHS isn't doing.

    And (maybe a bit off topic) the real thing is, Tera doens't need new classes, we have more than enough even if many are race/gender locked. We need new, fresh content that makes the old classes fun again.

    I do think they could give the base classes some cool new skills or mechanics, but the exclusivity of special classes is part of the appeal to me. Not the gender part, but making a characters heritage part of their progression makes the race choice more than just aesthetic which helps with my immersion of the game.

    I like how WoW does it (kinda getting close to homogenization these days, but the concept is still there) where there is a class pool and each race gets a handful of classes to choose from. It emphasizes a race's defining features like strength, spiritualism, or intelligence.

    I definitely think the gender lock is a bit too much though especially when its only one gender, but I understand the company's goal behind their decision making. However I think Tera as a game deserves better than that, because imo it really is top of the line compared to other mmo's in terms of graphics, character design, and combat mechanics.

    Ah yes, when you put it like that I can agree it does seem interesting. I do know WoW's style when it comes to classes (at least back in the day, idk if it has changed much) but would it be worth it to create new classes just to make them all locked? Maybe just limit the existing one's already, although I can see that having loads of bad feedback (and also seems impossible tbh).

    But yes, as long as they made sense lorewise. Reapers do make sense, that's why I don't really care if they are Elin only. The story makes sense, brawlers and valkyries on the other hand... Anyway, we do know that BHS doesn't really care much about Tera's lore by now with the dubious changes and incomplete stories.

    It'd be great if they could do away with the gender locks all together honestly, but if they have no intention to do that at least offer a Male only class as a balance to all the female locked classes.

    That's a pretty good idea! Would be interesting to see how they would fit into the lore... and which race would get it. Definitely got a few options for that one.
