no, it's not crazy if you think about it. VM9 is supposed to be the best tier we have in game for now, obviously it's going to be hard to get mats/designs for it, otherwise everyone would be running around with fully enchanted VM9.

The people who did get those designs worked hard for them, you can't expect for them to just give them to you for a low price. Go run dungeons, go farm like you're kinda supposed to. The difficulty in getting last tier gear makes it much more rewarding once you have it.

I don't have VM myself although I'm planning on starting to far for it and I really really wouldn't appreciate an event like this.
  • They'll go down soon don't worry. (:

Getting lucky that the design for your class and piece drops with such a low drop rate isn't the same as working hard for it. I would much rather have harder to get mats but plentiful designs, showing that you actually worked/grinded hard for it instead of being lucky.

+1. I know a guy who ran vsnm like over 30 times and has yet to see a design drop. Tell me how he didn't 'worked hard' :p Its more about RNG than working hard because some people get design on 1st run while others have to wait 30+ runs.

I just bought 3 designs (everything for my main except the weapon) and I didn't spend more than 100k. Man, some servers have some really greedy people.

But yes, I agree that having an easier time getting those designs would help. I mean, sure, VM is meant to be hard to get, but getting designs should be the start of the grind for it, not the worst part.

I mean, most people care about the weapons.

With how rare they are and how so many people have all the mats but the design, it's pretty easy to see why they're so expensive.

If Op was indeed talking about the weapon, then I guess I missed it. Thought (s)he meant every piece for that price.
  • All design was easy to have and almost free until starfall (vm6), since Imperator (vm7), It became rare and very expensive, why ? No idea.

Ok, I have been thinking about this and maybe I expressed myself too strongly on my 1st post. What I meant by what I said and I'm still against is mainly about the creation of a special even with a biggest drop percentage. I don't want TERA to become a events dependent game, which sadly seems to be the path it is going in.

So, considering this and some other similar topics I've found around the forum, why not simply increase the drop rate intead of creating a special timed event around it. It would be much more profitable for EME and BHS overall and help the players as well.

Increasing the drop rates only during an event would make everyone farm the dungeons during that time and once they got what they wanted they would only be doing tthem for mats and once they're done with that too... what would they do? (Tera really needs to up their game when it comes to stuff to do after you reach 65 and got your gear all ready...) so maybe by not increasing the drops in a specific time they would be able to motivate the players and keep them doing the dungeons. You will have to farm them anyway for the mats anyway.

And more related to what you said, yes, I understand what you mean perfectly and I do agree, I was mostly reffering to this specific request. I have felt TERA's brilliant RNG system many times myself *sigh*

(Also, actually, now that I think more in depth about it, why are the design so hard to obtain overall? I get it's the game system to get them through deungeons so that's why I'm not asking for it for free or that easy but... it's a design. You need to farm dungeons for both mats and the design... it's... oh well...)

Best course of action is to just wait, like others have said. This was a problem in the previous patch as well; players spent hundreds of thousands of gold on designs because they were so rare. Then Broken Prison came out and started passing the things out like candy from the final boss. Manglemire's coming back soon, along with BRHM and Akeron's Inferno. At least one of them will probably drop designs at a better rate than VSHM, which is pretty sad but it's what we saw in the past so I wouldn't be surprised. Basically if you spend 300k+ on a weapon design right now, then you're either rich enough for it to not matter, or super impatient since there isn't even content to warrant that kind of gear at the moment. Might as well save your gold, keep stockpiling enchanting materials, and just grab a design when they're plentiful.
