Newbie questions

Hello everyone,

I just started getting interested on playing TERA and I want to know few things before:

1. It is worth to get elite status?
2. What class is good for PVP and PVE or what class rule the PVP?
3. Is there any code/promo I can use on a new account/char to get stuff?
4. What server got most population
5. Active guilds recruit new members? If so, your guild could accept a new member ( I don't like to play alone)

I appreciate a lot if anyone answer.

Thank you

    1. Especially while leveling, I feel it's worth having elite. If you have buddy up too, you get loooads of exp boost from both (but even the one from elite is worth it) and double gold from quests (even when you're just getting silver from your quests - but later on, it's a nice bump in gold and if you go achieve hunting and do tons of quests, def a nice bump in gold). You also get the everful nostrum which means you don't have to spend any gold on battle elixir thingies (I have seriously forgotten what they're called atm, I need coffee). Flying mount at level 1. (it changes, apparently, tho it's been a nifty lion for a little bit now) You also get 15 emp every day you log into the game which is pretty cool. Overall, I'd say it's worth it, maybe not 100% of the time but whenever you can.
    2. Valkyrie is the op class right now. It will get balanced later but it's also a LOT of fun to play, imo. Beyond that, I'm not sure. I know ninja and gunner apparently have the lowest dps but good players who can maximize their dps and play gunner and ninja are not likely to get left out or anything. Er, okay and Slayer has to pray to the rng gods for something but ask a slayer - I'm not clear on what, exactly, the problem is.
    3. I think some of the reddit forums have lists of codes that still work though there aren't many. Every friday, Spacecats holds a stream and gives out a code for stuff. Well, except this friday, he was on vacation but there was still a stream and codes! There should be a post in the forums about it.
    4. MT is, hands down, the busiest. TR is close behind in terms of server population. If you're looking to pvp though, I'd suggest MT. All the servers have something of a population but those are, by a large margin, the busiest.
    5. I can't answer this one :c Hopefully someone else can

    Hope this was helpful!

Edit: Forgot to mention, for elite, the travel atlas is super nice, can easily travel to most any large area and the journal lets you save places to teleport to so that's pretty neat too!

    1. Elite status gives you many benefits like 100% xp boost, elite flying mount, village atlas which is used to teleport around the world (otherwise you have to use teleport scrolls and pegasus), everful nostrum (15% cooldown reduction on attacking skills, 1.42 crit power, adittional power and endurance and mana replainshment). on max level you have limited number of entries to dungeons, with elite you have double number, plus you get reset scrolls. also you get double vanguard credits which are needed to buy crystals, masterwork alkahest. also with elite you don't pay a fee when putting stuff on broker and can put up to 50 items there (non elite can put only 10). imo it's worth to get elite.
    2. currently valkyrie is probably the most dominant class in pvp, but it's a new class and we can expect nerf in the future. warrior is also pretty good, but it requires way more skill to master it. in pve i'd say top classes are valkyrie, archer, warrior and sorc.
    3. i don't think there is some promo code you can use, but you can use buddyup code from other players. just have to use it before you reach lvl 9. https://forums.enmasse.com/tera/discussion/96/buddyup-codes-thread#latest try to find a code here, cause unfortunately you can't use global or tade chat on low levels and say/area chat won't help you much since there aren't too many higher levels in starting area. though, if you get elite, you can teleport to Highwatch or Velika and ask in say chat for buddyup code.
    4. Tempest Reach is most populated pve server, Mount Tyrannas is most populated pvp server.
    5. well, unfortunately, most active guilds are probably close to max ammount of players so they recruit only geared 65's.

Please don't come to MT for your own sake. The community is not new player friendly. LFG's will refuse you if you are not +15 most of the time. People want skilled or +15 players only in lfg's. Learning runs are extremely rare. So good luck doing end-game content unless you already have +15 vm8 or you can afford to spend good amount of real money on EMP to buy +15 vm9/vm8. I am a new player like you and guess what , I am stuck doing IoD dailies since 2 weeks because literally nobody wants me in lfg even though I have +12 misery set (mid tier gear) properly rolled.

I am not actually a fan of MT either and mostly play on TR even though I have several 65s on MT. While I can't really confirm that people won't take you, I don't find it newbie friendly or...well, friendly at all. It just isn't a server I feel comfortable on at all. But it IS the busiest. TR is pretty close, imo and pvp queues are cross server.
