I wanna say you got one shotted in Grid, but I honestly don't see the hate for EQ. I can oneshot people in my unequal gear and imo it would be more crazy if bgs were unequal for that reason. You would have to gear to be relevant in PvP, couldn't just hit 65 and start PvP, you'd have to gear, which I don't support at all. The EQ gear is fine for most bg's and they make sense they're weak in some BGs such as Grid where the outcome of the battle is determined by the amount of kills. 3s/cs/fwc gear is pretty decent, at a time people would actually compare eq gear with the mid tier set in BGs (SPOILER: Theyre only 8% apart if i remember correctly).
Because people can queue with their friends, because it's fairer than non equalised, because it's basically impossible for less healers to team queue.
Getting healers is only a problem for solo queue, I personally know at least 20 people who would come back to tera if team queue was equalised and rotate healers if they couldn't find one. And that's not even including all the EU players who would jump on board.
Getting reworked equalised gear is NOT REALISTIC, you have to understand there's not a chance of them doing that. But equalising it like every other BG is realistic, and is much fairer than a full +15 team stomping out a +12 team simply because of gear.
It's incomprehensible how people would rather sit in their dead queues and cry that no one's Qing for their roleplay, unfair PvP than have a system that would bring 100s of players to the 3's community. (or probably not, because I'm willing to bet barely anyone who commented has ever queued more than a dozen team queue games)
There is nothing fair about equalized gear... Why? Because it's not really equalized. If you can't believe that simple statement go play a Priest or a Mystic in any equalized BG and then come back. And I ask again, why would you take away the only BG PvP players can use their gear in? Teams has always been the BG where most of experienced players go to PvP and even if you equalize it, the skill gap between teams would still be large and people will end up not qing because they will still get stomped.
If you can't be bothered to gear your character with BiS or something close to it, that's fine... you can q Grid, CS, Solo or FWC which are BG's directed towards a more casual audience of players.
LOL I play priest all the time in equalised bgs and I have done ever since equalised bgs were a thing. Am I allowed to tell you I would welcome equalised team queue now?
Do you just not read or something?
Your definition of balance is out of whack.
I don't like mass PvP, it's for noobs who like to hide behind others for their lack of skill/understanding of the game. Your solution is invalid.
It was very active because of the huge buff in credits the battleground awarded even on a loss.
That meant that complete casuals who don't even know how to gear up run FWC for the sake of getting credits. Which brings out the problem in PvP.
Why must there be a need to have a reward to have an incentive to pvp? This is something I can't understand at all.
You know, some PvPers don't switch to PvE just because PvP is dead. They just don't play the game since it doesn't have PvP and play something else. When EU TERA had equalized 3v3 team event, many old inactive PvPers and some RU PvPers (who did alot of Skyring on EU) came from RU server just to play it. They had quit EU TERA for a while since they went to RU, the inactive ones also had very outdated gear (or none at all), so no they did not have "PvE gear" either. To some players, and those are the players which queue PvP regardless of rewards, it's PvP or nothing. Nothing meaning quit.
Yeah those players don't even do daily IoD BAMs, or daily mobs or whatever other PvE crap, either; myself included; I don't know what you have to do daily anymore since I haven't done it for 2 years or so and didn't play this game in months -- don't nitpick on this or outdated info.
This needs to be quoted for truth. FWC fanboys won't get it though. They think it was balanced compared with Skyring or other BGs which is laughable.
Because of 2 reasons:
1) You look at carebears; yes they need incentive, since that's what they are, and they play PvE for rewards also. You kind of need them in mass PvP BGs though.
2) It's not equalized so you need rewards.
I'm talking about stat-boosting rewards, not cosmetic or titles or anything like that, those are perfectly fine. You can take a look at most pure PvP games, which have zero stat-boosting rewards, and are much more popular. Why is that? Because they target PvPers, not carebears.
Their mentality isn't "how to make people who do PvE start queuing?" but "how to keep PvP-centered players queuing?", the latter's answer being "fun". Equal stats is part of it.
If they have PvP gear, they will also have PvE gear in a month!
why'd you tbag me in cs :<
