Hi aeee98! thanks! The world needs more funny! From the first dialblo (sp) SWG, Conan, WoW, so on and so forth I fell in love with gaming. I'm Older (Cough) (not telling) than your average gamer i do believe and as a lousy typist
and Dyslexic, that I can play at all is something of a small wonder. I freely admit with no shame that there is a great deal about computers and programs that stump me. Overall Not my first best skill... OH, but imagination, that is where I shine. lets just say I watched and dislike the original Micky Mouse Club tv show in BandW as a kid. Mighty Mouse, yeah, he was a cool mouse. Micky remains a dork.
And I still want more solo content.
Maybe you can answer a question for me, please, why are speed runs even a thing? I get the "Been in this place 7 or 70 times, get it over with already." But for a first timer who wants to beat the dungeon, learn and understand what is going on the speed thing suks eggs. In Swotor, I broke down and read and watched the how to's - But stopped because doing that ruined the fun of discovery and surprise. I've seen the title speed demon.... hope its not related to adult interaction, LOL. Another reason I'd rather solo things.
This is really a terrific community! So thanks to all who bothered to read.

Most of these are [filtered] - unrewarding, easy and boring. IoD BAMs except for low tier are probably the most rewarding ones but again they are boring and easy once you get used to farming them.
I'd rather have 20-30 min challenging solo dungeon with good rewards than 1-2 min PoP/GG with [filtered] rewards.
As for solo content, we don't need more, thanks. We already have an abundance, and all of it is way too boring. We need less solo content and more group content, imo. They remove dungeons every patch so we only have ~2-3 worth running at any given time, yet they add more and more solo crap as if we enjoy grinding through boring ezmode quests. It's not fun, it's irritating, and if I wanted to solo all my dailies, I'd play another game.
Hummm, 'silly', a singular word that many who have never given gaming a shot might use. I just logged in to look up some WBosses and about past out when I saw how many folks have been reading this 'Silly' post of mine and I was shocked at how many have given it a look. So either folks are profoundly bored... Or, I hit a slight nerve. If the later, well...there are only two things I really hit on, solo vs non solo content and given the amount I have spent on this game there needs to be more of both....the other is Guild tags. I wish i had a clue how to set up a forum survey or even if its possible here. If I could I would set up an anonymous survey just to find out how many of you hate or love your guild tag.... then again, I could be wrong....
LOL
laters, Alluren
BTW I did manage to make the audio adjustments for myself- Bless you that posted the pic of Controls!!!!!
Boring and easy? Sure. Unrewarding? Never. Solo content has been ridiculously profitable compared to any other content for quite some time now.
Sort of. DS is a bit different, especially at uppers.
Speed runs will always be a thing. Regardless of game, and how it is implemented (Points system, time attack, achievement, ladder rankings), being the fastest to clear something is a prestige of knowledge of the game, and probably a display of how much money you spent in this game (thankfully this isn't the case). I don't know about the game you mentioned.
I will hate to say that in Tera, if you are here for solo play, you probably will be disappointed. Tera from the original OBT times has encouraged party play from the start, with BAMs that are best taken down as a party even in the open world. Only in the recent years where they actually started to include some more solo content than the usual vaults and dailies. I personally think a nearly endless mode system would have been really good to have for solo play. (No HP Pots/Healing allowed) However, the main point of the game should always be emphasized: Party play, and to be honest for ages the fastest and efficient way to get profits isn't even in the dungeons but through events. I personally feel party play (both competitive via pvp and cooperative via pve) also needs more reinforcement.
Thank you for the explanation. I know it came into fashion within the gaming community itself. I.E. speed runs at conventions for single player games and teams against each other for best time...remember taking a wrong turn at a Sci-Fi convention and finding a modest size room filled-to overflowing with personal pc's some-kind of private internet server and Packed with teams doing a non-stop beat the game thing for the FPS "Fear" total nerd-mania, I was OF COURSE fascinated. Does that make me a nerd, or just a nerd wannabe. It was in Swtor I first became aware of achievements and the attending bragging rights thing. Im having a grand time in Tera with this feature because it has in game tangible effects....sure a pet watermelon may-not be everyone's dream, but plus's to damage and defense I like! Okay not a huge amount, maybe, but I'll take what I can get particularly if I'm having fun along the way. Anyway, I appreciate your explanation. I HOPE YOU AND ALL HAVE GREAT FUN!
