I don't really know your situation but I have recorded audio with OBS (both the original and Studio).

If you need one for pure recording, try Bandicam or Fraps probably.
  • If u have NVidia it has the recording option with NVidia experience
  • ive tried obs studio but for some reason it will only record video. sadly i dont have Nvidia D:

I use something called the Elgato Game Capture HD60S. It's a bit pricey, but it's easy to setup and even easier to use. You certainly get your money's worth.

If the price is a bit too steep for you, then grab the baseline Elgato Game Capture HD (no extra letters or numbers) instead. It won't do 60fps unless you play on 720p and down, but the quality is just as good.
  • Thanks for the suggestion guys, I have decided to use frapps

  • @OP AMD & Nvidia have their own Native video recording software. I found this video awhile back which helps you setup OBS properly with audio, hope this helps. Youtube "How to record PC Games for Free - No Lag + Multiple Audio" by jackfrags if the link doesn't work.

  • I use obs and it records my audio fine but sometimes i'll also use shadowplay.
  • I use xSplit, it's got a pretty easy interface and let's you set delays on video/audio, has stream support, and let's you select windows as well as full screens.

    And it's free.

Strongly recommend PlaysTV. I have been using it since last year and it has been great. Can record at 60 fps 1080p very smooth and never any lag or anything. Audio will record as long as you have a device that detects as a mic, so it shouldn't be a problem there. The software is also free, which is great and it's very friendly in terms of controlling it with shortcuts when you're in game.

Forgot to add when trying plays tv first time, make sure to turn it to manual recording. I think it will default to automatic recording when installing it first time and you wouldn't want that since that will eat up hard drive space. Creating an account at login is not necessary but that's usually for if you want to share videos and other things. Also Can also setup your own keyboard shortcuts and set the quality of recording ranging from 720p or 1080 p with different frames when going through the settings. When launching a game, plays tv symbol will show up on top left or right of screen, then you know is is in the background and able to control with the shortcuts. Also you don't have to record if you don't want to but can capture up to 10 minutes max as a clip, which is a cool feature.
