Island of Dawn

I will put this in game suggestions as well but I'd like to also have it here as more people will see it and critique/improve the idea. I suggest the Island of Dawn be both the starting area and a level 65 BAM hunting zone. The island would have a nice, happy, peaceful area (the beginner starting zone) and a destroyed, dark, violent area (the level 65 BAM zone). The island would probably need an expansion to make both zones big enough but it would make for fantastic interaction between new and endgame players.

Imagine starting off as a brand new player on a peaceful airship dock surrounded by others like you, but then there are also high level badass endgame players heading to kill some beasts.

The tutorial could potentially involve new players questing in the nice zone, followed by sneaking through the level 65 BAM zone to reach the other end of the island and head to Velika. (There could be a warning in the quest dialogue or a story related cutscene that warns new players in some way to not attack the BAMs as they are not strong enough yet).

Although high levels would mostly be in the BAM area, they would have to run/ride/fly past the starting area to get there. Also, there could be a central hub marketplace at the center of the island with some incentive for new and veteran players to hang out/use broker or bank and generally interact with each other a bit there.

ive been saying they need to bring back iod ever since they removed it. many whiteknights comment on my posts and thinks stepstone is better. iod wont ever come back. its sad but true. I watch old youtube videos to see iod again.

Sounds unique and if BHS weren't Korean they would even put that into consideration lmao.

Probably the only way they can do it is to make the players invulnerable while walking through the area.

ikr? everyone cried that it was too hard and long to level, that bams were to hard, dungeons too hard.....they made leveling fast, dungeons are a ease, bams are a ease....and everyone complains game is too easy xD

I never complained about getting rid of content. but you guys are right.....people cry about removing content...and it gets removed. people complain about low levels in cs and it needs to be level 65 only, and it gets done. I wish the ones with all this power to change things would get things back into the game. sad thing is, most of the ones that complained before don't play tera anymore.

I think it's a good idea because it promotes interactions between the experienced players and the newbies and hopefully will allow those experienced to meet and guide the newbies easily. Buddyup rewards do not achieve this purpose as people release and claim codes just for the rewards, without the ineraction between the experieced and the newbie.

I have actually tried to help several newbies through buddyup since last month. The real problem I see with TERA is poor player retention. All except 1 of those newbies have quit the game by now and the remaining one complains to me everyday how he hates the game and the community because it is too elitist and he gets rejected from every vsnm/vshm party due to not having +15 weap.
