    Count on that the tail just randomly clipping through clothes, sometimes it looks cute, sometimes downright ridiculous.

    Not the issue here; some items will change your hairstyle to suit the item being worn, but others don't. The hat clips with either hair option for the OP's hairstyle, and it does for many others as well.

    Answer: never, as evidenced by the mountain of hats made nearly worthless due to clipping.

    I find it cute when my ears go through the hat. Such fluffy rebels. It's even cuter when the hat appears to be hanging on a string of hair.

    Would be nice if BHS gave back to giving a da-mn about proper developing and made holes on the hats for horns and ears. I frankly love the ears so seeing them stick out is cute, but on many cases it's just very obviously halfassed instead of looking as intended

    Awh yea, I got the blue floppy summer hat (from the summer boxes, best event eevverr!!) & it clips my elin ears. I got another hat that takes my ears away totally...so I noticed those are the two options for elins.
