    Canyon Clash?

    Skyring slam?

Oh wait............wrong age of Tera. Carry on.
  • Anyway to tweak friendship point gain amounts? It's currently 10 per dungeon/bg cleared together. A weekend with an increased gain in certain dungeons/bgs + other incentive might be nice for people who want to farm title/summons idk.

what about a marriage system and give people perks, boosts, or bonuses ?
  • I would really like to see more events that not just focus on dropping the mats you need for end game gear, but more so towards items that are no longer obtainable (currently) such as costumes, fun consumables, maybe a pet or weapon skins, etc. Materials are nice and all, but the fact that there are multiple ways you can obtain those mats (I.E. Lakan's boxes, VSH, PvP, etc) but no way to obtain items such as older costumes makes me qq a bit. Nonetheless I'm grateful for having so many ways to obtain mats, but maybe seeing little events that have a chance to see items that we haven't seen in awhile can be a breathe of fresh air.
    Some events can include:
Hide and seek (for npc's, maybe give a description of where the npc would be hiding)
Treasure boxes (those are always nice!)
    BAM events
Gathering events (maybe if you gather something, it has a chance to drop something)
Crafting events ^ same as above (maybe can influence more crafting)
    Rootstock! (I'm out of food ; ;)

(Maybe an idea for Halloween) - Trick or treating? (You go to an npc in every town and they can give "candy" that gives a buff, with a chance to give you a "trick" (debuff, blown up head for 1 hr, smaller size/larger, etc) and a chance to give a costume/weapon skin/etc. I'm kind of taking this idea from World of Warcraft, but I absolutely loved it back in the day... I mean hey, us adults want to go trick or treating as well!

Hope y'all find some of my ideas interesting ;3

We could have a monthly event, hosted by the GMs, that requires interaction between players and GMs, such as hide and seek, treasure hunt, amazing race, quizzes etc, which could last for a day or weekend in every month.

We can also have other events that do not require the presence of the GMs, such as dungeon highlights, double/triple drops, double/triple dungeon entries, world BAMs, blue boxes, T.E.R.A letters, rootstock events, gathering events, crafting events, battleground highlights, double/triple exp, strongbox jackpots, increase in enhancement %, decrease in costs of enhancement etc, which can last for a weekend for every weekend in the month.

    Hello EnMasse Team!

I would like to start by appreciating all the work you put to get the game working and for it to be exciting again. I have been playing Tera for a few years and so far is been my favorite MMO to date

I had joined the game about 3 years ago and made a warrior. ended up leaving shortly after reaching level 60 since I could not find a guild and the warrior class was too hard for me to handle (didn't realize how badly I was using it until recently)

about a year ago I started playing again and I noticed that Tera had lost a lot of its life and content over the years. and I've noticed a pattern where the game has been having content cut out little by little and becoming a simplified game. in a sense is a good thing because a new player won't be completely confused on what to do in the game. but on the other hand it does not work out for older players as they find themselves playing the same content over and over again.

Below are a few Ideas I've had over the past year on how to breathe a little more life into the game to make it more exciting again. some of these include re-workings of older ideas. Here it goes

    1) Buddy up system - As mentioned above the system is a good way to get your new friend to play the game. the only problem I've found with it is that your new level 1 friend will have no fun and will have no way of enjoying the game if you are using your level 65 character. basically they gain no experience from playing with you and can't get rewards. the only way has been to create another character to play with them. or to have them rush to end game and skip all the game's starting content and story line which is not a fun way for the new player to enjoy the game. I would like to see a way for a buddy up partner to play with his lower level friend trough the content and teach them more of the game. like having the option of matching their level and queuing for dungeons together. kind of like a mentor system of sorts. i know the experience sharing was removed because of the ability for players to just create new character and power level them in one go just by killing high level monsters on Island Of Dawn, and is true that this isn't a way to play the game either, but it would be nice if the higher level player could match the stats of the lower level player some how so that they can kill lower level monsters and the lower level player can earn EXP and loot of the corresponding level. the level 65 player that does not benefit from this experience can earn rewards in other ways. like getting federation bills or fashion coupons as reward for killing the lower level monsters with a friend at that level.

    2) Fashion Coupons - I remember the old way of changing the aspect of your gear was to find other gear to use as template and then bind them together. I do like the Fashion Coupon store much better than the old system but is only lacking in one area: not enough choices. The game has a lot of models for weapons and gear that look really great. but these models are not available on the fashion coupon shop for purchase. one example I can give is that the slayer has a TON of great looking weapon models when leveling up. but only 2 styles of weapons skins are available for slayers on the FC shop. there are many more examples like this on the game. it might be hard to get new costumes on the Fashion Coupon shop or it might be that the shop has a limit on how many items it can display, so here is my idea on how this could work: re-use the NPCs on the major cities that were used for learning new skills and glyphs. and turn them into a fashion shop where each class can find the corresponding NPC and buy fashion items of his/her class using the FC coupons. each store will have all the possible base game costumes available for sale but only for that class.

another way to make this a little more interesting, but this might be too tough to implement, is to adjust the dyeing system a little bit. for example there are lots of costumes that have little details in other colors that can't be changed. so maybe to be able to apply dyes on different areas of the equipment to give it a little more distinctive look. also there are some costumes that have a great design. but they are stuck with a horrible second base color that can't be changed. there is a cloth armor for mystics that is yellow and green. and while the green part can be changed the yellow part stays making it look bad with any other color one tries.

    3) Guilds and Co-Op - With the end of alliance and the opening of Velika unrest there were a few things that made the game feel a bit empty. Here are some ideas to make playing with other guild mates more fun and help on bringing the guild together more. specially if alliance does not come back.

a - Guild Master announcements: in the alliance the exarch of the alliance could message every member of the alliance and have that message come up in the middle of the screen. this was a great way to co-ordinate with other members on doing activities. perhaps we could implement a system like this for guilds where the guild master could use the same system as the old exarch system to message guild members. and he could also give other members that he chooses the ability to use this messaging system as well

b - Guild quests: I'm a little disappointed with the guild quests system thus far. there just isn't much variety to it, the current categories include only gathering (almost useless with the downfall of the crafting system - More on this latter), and dungeons which is basically the only activity left in game to do that requires co-operation between players, it also makes it hard form a bond with your other guild members as they are always farming BAMs on Island of Dawn or they ran out of dungeon runs or they are not strong enough to run higher level dungeons together. My suggestion on this area is to add two new forms of quests to the guild's quest system. the first is a BAM hunting quest. for example the can be a quest to kill 50 Island of dawn BAMs, and the number of BAMs or the level of the BAMs can be adjusted for guild sizes. for example for a small size guild they can kill 10 BAMs. medium size guild can kill 30 BAMs and large size guild can kill 50 BAMs. and there are different quests for different BAMs like one for brutal iron giants. another one for bloodbound teraliths ETC. this would introduce a HUGE opportunity for member co-op play as is the only other activity guild members do that is not dungeon related (I will go more in detail on co-op BAMs later on). The second is world boss guild quests, this would require a bit of a re-vamp to how the world bosses currently work, and I will go more into detail on how this works on another section. but for the guild quest side there would be a bounty on a few specific world bosses per day that the guild can complete, this will also be a good opportunity for co-op play between guild members.

c - Guild Funds / Guild housing: right now there is very little one can do with guild funds, either spend it on guild towers for velika unrest, give it to players, or declare wars on other guilds. this does very little for PvE oriented guilds that want nothing to do with PvP and the following are my suggestions on how to improve this a little more: one option is to bring back bronze / silver / gold enchanters, where the guild leader would have to spend guild funds to activate any of these enchanters. this is a great help for all guild members and it requires co-operation of all guild members on bringing up funds for the guild in the first place. so this would be further incentive on doing guild quests and doing more co-op play. another option is to bring back a system of player housing. before we had the sky castles that only a few select guilds could have access to, I was never able to experience this system so I'm not sure entirely how it used to work, but it gives me the idea that a guild could use these funds to purchase or rent one of the castles and use guild funds to change the looks of the castles. there are many major cities and areas where the guilds could purchase castles from and this can create other fun levels of game play. like for example Guild vs Guild battles could be waged over control of one of the sky castles (a guild should only be allowed to control one sky castle at the time to prevent a single guild from controlling all of them, it also gives guilds without a sky castle a means of gaining control over one), There should be 100 castles trough the game. 10 around each major city (including high-watch) and the rest on other areas of the game that are more remote, the incentive here is for guilds to battle over castles that are more conveniently located closer to the cities where they show off more. if two guilds that own castles fight then the winning guild gets to choose which castle to keep and the loosing guild keeps the other castle. castles are won with all current upgrades done to them by the previous guild in order to create more incentive to win a castle, but not so much that it creates huge guild wars over territory. To give life to the castles we can make them areas of convenience, like access to trade broker, bank, gold enchanter, crafting NPCs, merchants, ETC. The old alliance halls could be used as the place where guild masters could go to purchase guild castles and also an area for the guilds who don't have guild castles to access the bronze / silver / gold enchanters (since they were there to begin with anyways) also add clerics of restoration to this areas as they make excellent places to do 1v1 PvP with your friends.

d - Guild bank: not much to add to guild bank. just the ability to set some tabs so they are public access to all guild members and other tabs so they are private access to more trusted members that the guild master can give them access to.

e - Guild contribution rewards: another way of inspiring guild members to participate on guild activities is to give member's rewards for earning contribution points for the guild. for example in the old alliance players could earn masks and mounts for reaching a high level of contribution for the alliance as well as achievements and titles. so maybe we can bring that system back by making it so that players with a high level of contribution to the guild get a reward. for example at 2000 contribution points they get the echelon mask. at 5000 points they get the commanders mask and get a guild horse mount with the guild logo on the side (I've seen these before that were rewards for old game content. so this would be a nice way to bring them back). the guild leader and select members that he chooses with a contribution of 10000 or more points can earn the Exarch mask and a 290 speed version of the guild mount. please note that I'm using the old alliance masks as reference. but this would be a nice way to bring them back into the game.

    4) Co-Op BAMs on vanguard quests: currently the vanguard quests require the player to kill 10 of a select set of BAMs to complete the vanguard quest and earn the token / feed stock rewards. the only issue with this system is that if a player wishes to team up with another player they now have to kill twice as much BAMs to complete the quest. not to mention this also introduces a few issues with how the BAMs are counted on the quest. if anything it would be great if that restriction was removed so that teaming up with other players means that both complete the quest much faster. this also gives the opportunities of playing with guild members or other friends to get these activities done, it also goes hand in hand with my prior suggestion of adding the BAMs to the guild quests as well. or if anything at least make it so that teaming up with a guild member makes completing this quest faster.

I would like to emphasize on the importance of changing this aspect of the game a bit. right now killing BAMs on IoD is the most effective way to earn feed stock and other set of very important items. but since teaming up with other players makes this counter productive it makes it so players choose not to co-operate with other friends to do this activity. this causes players to spend lots of time doing a boring activity by themselves and choose to stay out of contact with other players during this activity. not the way an online MMO should feel.

    5) World Bosses: not a lot of players know a lot about world bosses. this is mostly because there is no incentive to hunt them other than getting achievements from them. so I would like to suggest a re-vamp of the wold boss system to bring one more fun activity to end game with the following suggestions: first is to make them spawn more often. right now most spawn about once every 3 hours and some others only spawn after server resets, making them really hard to get the achievements for them in the first place. it would be great if all world bosses could re-spawn once every hour. this would help integrate it with my previous suggestion to add them to the guild quest system. second is to make the world bosses harder. right now all the world bosses on the lower level areas can be one hit killed by level 65 player with a normal set of end game gear. there is no fun in that. the only world boss that I've had a hard time killing by myself has been Hummedras. All the world bosses should be hard enough that it takes at least a team of 5 level 65 players with mid tier gear to kill them. some bosses could be made strong enough to require 10 or more players with top tier gear to kill them as well, this will create a strong enough challenge for players to do. Finally there should be rewards for these challenges similar or equal to the rewards obtained from the last boss on a dungeon in game. this makes it a nice alternative to doing dungeons for gearing up and the rewards are not so great that it becomes game breaking. for example the world boss should drop one or more boxes of mid tier gear that players can roll for. as well as feed stock rewards, spellbind ETC. this would add more activities to the game without crashing the economy by making these items over abundant.

    6) Open World: Tera has a very vast and beautiful open world. with lots of dungeon like areas, breathtaking scenery and lots of odd places to explore. however there is no incentive to exploring it anymore. as a result the open world stands mostly empty and the vast majority of player population spends its time on Island of Dawn as is the only area of the game with things to do for end game, others just AFK on cities waiting for their Instance matching to complete so they can go into a dungeon. while the story is fine and this lets new players go about and explore the open world it can make it feel very empty to them as there are not a lot of players to go into the open areas. some of the suggestions I've mentioned above do invite veteran players to venture into the open world in search of wold bosses and perhaps other types of co-op BAMs for guild quests. Other activities that could create more traffic to other areas of the game could be scavenger hunts or hunting for treasure boxes that give guild funds. guild castle blueprints (to customize the look of the sky castle). another great way to get players to visit other areas of the game is to re-vamp the factions system. and make them so players can purchase legacy mounts and costumes from the faction shops and even purchase mid tier gear from these shops as another way for players to reach end game. other rewards could be fashion coupons and federation bills as there are very little ways of earning these items in game. this however will require updating the faction quests to make them a little more exciting than crafting 10 pieces of leather daily or killing a certain number of monsters on the open world, but this would be a nice area to introduce gathering quests instead of making them guild quests.

I have a lot of other Ideas regarding alliance and PvP. but this post has already gotten really long and those are 2 areas that I don't have a lot of experience with, perhaps if this post reaches the admins and they like some of these suggestions then maybe I could come up with a few more.
If you've read this far then thank you for reading and let me know what you think of these ideas.
  • Wow, I'm absolutely loving the responses here (especially the time and thought put into yours, @KaydenFahrenheit ) - Please keep posting ideas of things you like to do (in this game or others) that we may be able to pull off!
  • We want as well the protect the village from attacking bams! Protect houses or people in it. xD
  • or Giant Cities! Protect them from Argon/Demokron or Bams then there should be a time limit into it. Might be like a daily world quest for every one. xD
  • I just like to suggest adding some mats for VM8 like Caprin Handles and Eau de Fascination. I know to others its not a big deal but other players like me need it, so why not add it on the summer tokens or in the future event.

For now about events I have to say, @Spacecats started good events like Mongo Events, boss/bam events, we miss them but the most important part of events are loots, they shouldn't be low and they shouldn't be too much.

Loots from events losing values are not good for anyone, just like now that you see some accessories dropped their prices under 500G and 200G, events shouldn't devalue items that hard, balance loots is mandatory and that can lead to more events.

It will be nice to announce the loots sooner to Council members, so they can do the math about hard core grinding and normal grinding so in the end we reach a satisfying number for everyone.

I think most people should be happy with current CM Spacecats. He is far from perfect but today Tera NA is one of the few on-line games that give lots of free stuff for those who keep continiously playing the game.

I have played and still play several games to this day and they don't reward so much the players like EME does with their player base.

how about having it where if we kill like "x" amount of a certain type of bam, we get a smaller version of it, or same size, and level it up by fighting mobs and other bams until it levels up to 65, you start in the low areas and it has to kill around its own level of mobs and bams to level up, then you could either pvp them against other people's bam, or enter it in bamarama and you can control the actions of the bam and fight that way. eme could sell a cash shop version of bams that you could not get in game, with no extra stats, but would automatically be level 65 if you wanted tthem to be. it would let people go back and explore the areas of the game that people don't normally go to anymore. you couldn't use them in dungeons unless they were a smaller version, and you could collect and own different types of bams as well. even if you cant pvp them or anything against each other, they could be like the thralls that mystics have.
another spin on it could be pets that you can buy from the cash shop that lets you attack enemies like the thralls. that way eme can make a little extra money to help operations. I know it sounds a lot like pokemon and all, but has anyone from eme ever pitched the idea to bhs for something like that? I have seen mods on youtube where people had thralls that were modded to look like the elin witches and bams.
is this something eme could do or would bhs have to do it, and also would this be an idea that the eme staff would talk to bhs about or would want it in the game?
