Hi, i recently started playing tera and tried out archer, sorc, brawler, valk, and warrior.
How is archer vs sorc in pve ? i do know that archer is more newbie friendly and easier to dish out dmg as well as having low ping to maximize focus (which i have) and that sorc takes more of a practice of rotations and harder to land crit with it than archer, but how do they compare in end game dungeons? for example, which one of the two has an easier time going to the boss's back or solo'ing IoD bams?
And also, which is the flashiest class (of all classes) in terms of skills and satisfying hits/dmg?
And two last things, is reaper good ? and which class has the fastest cd on skills ? (fast rotations)
thank you for your replies in advance !

sourcer is no for newbies, because is no casual class like brawler and valkirie, so is no newbie friendly................

Stop talking BS already. Valk is nowhere near a casual class. If you don't play it then don't spit BS about it because you are misguiding newbies.

no, valkirye is no casual class....................................................:thonking:

You can keep 'thonking' for the rest of your life and probably won't be able to figure it out. Just answer my simple question , have you even bothered to play valk ever? and please not on basic but at least intermediate level because on basic gameplay level even warrior or sorc can seem like a casual class.

dont worry palomo, you still are pro player blabla bla, but im sad when bhs nerfed valkirye....you are less pro player and this is realy sad

*Sigh* Here you go shitposting again completely ignoring the point which you generally seem to do in other threads. Stop avoiding my question and just answer it, have you played valk in mid tier content at least? If not then do not give bs answers such as 'valk is a casual class' because you are misguiding the new people here.

As about me .. I never claimed to be a pro player. I have no idea where you derived that idea from. Every class has its ups and downs. Slayer was considered top tier dps once but now they are mid-low tier dps, warriors and archers were mid-low tier dps but now they are top tier dps. They will keep nerfing and buffing classes , its a cycle. Valk will go through nerfs but through buffs as well and you are wrong if you think I cannot gear up another character, especially after the gearing revamp.

However, even if you only do about two thirds of your potential DPS, you'll still be better than many of the other class's maximum potential DPS. Even if you're pretty lazy when you play a valk (or have high ping), you can still be competitive against other classes with similar gear.

Nah that is simply not true. If you do that then you will more often than not get outdps'ed by archers/sorcs/warriors. Also valk is not a class for lazy ppl , plz don't even think of playing valk if you are lazy you will sorely regret it. Keep in mind that valk is top dps class so, people will judge you accordingly. Nobody will call you good if you outdps a warrior/archer/sorc by 100k. Many a times your credit for doing good dps is taken away because duh valk is top dps class.

You might just be arguing for the sake of arguing, but this is just basic math.

Valks beat the DPS of most other classes by somewhere around 40%. If you do two thirds of your potential DPS, you will do:

    1.4 * 0.67 = ~0.94

Or 94% of the DPS of most other classes if they play *perfectly*. If they make even one mistake in their rotation, you're doing the same damage.

That means you're competitive with the DPS of most other classes. The party doesn't care if you are better than other valk players. They only care that you put up the same numbers or better than someone else that they could replace you with.

If you do a quick scan of end game bosses with DPS ranked by class, you'll see that with very few exceptions the 50th ranked valk does more damage than the 50th ranked warrior, archer, or sorc (there are a few exceptions where the 50th ranked archer just barely beats out the 50th ranked valk). At that point, the valk is doing far less than two thirds of its potential DPS, but it is still clearly competitive.

sad, palomo dont understand this because him think like this " Keep in mind that valk is top dps class so, people will judge you accordingly "

top dps class now means = season broken spacebar casual class , but palomo dont get it.

I like my Valk she is fun and it is cool seeing how many mobs I can gather and not die in the doing. to me that is the whole reason to do them. I haven't done dungeons with her yet not sure if I could hold up my end enough you see I panic if for one second I don't pay attention to the big boss I am tapping on.

You'd be stupid if you think otherwise. I know a top pve guild on MT who rejected valk that did 2.1m/s dps at hm lakan but accepted archer that did 1.8m/s dps , why? Believe it or not , people do judge you according to dps tiers. Nobody gonna call you a good valk if you do 1.5m/s at hm lakan but an archer doing the same dps would be considered very good.

Go ahead, by all means spacebar on valk and do less dps than a ninja if that is how you enjoy playing, then do it but don't talk BS on forum. Btw here is something - https://www.essentialmana.com/class-overview/. Even essentialmana lists valk as c-tier (same as slayer/gunner/ninja) for casuals but go ahead and keep talking more BS.

well you wont be aceppted on top guild, and for this reason is wrong this sentence?, acording by you logic, all need be brawler, only archers and mystic all players rite ? because is the reason to be in top guild ? mee this new players B)

Go ahead, by all means spacebar on valk and do less dps than a ninja if that is how you enjoy playing,

mee again, essentian mana is only reference, is no the unique true, and dont have all knowledge, is only reference site, and if is very bad be valkirye because is spacebar broken class why you dont erase and get slayer or lancer ? but this dont matter, dont worry valkyrie still no be nerfed soon (tm ) , soo enjoy be the player with the best dps in broken class ................. : :p
  • I think that the archer is an easier class, but the sorcerer isn't as hard either. I used a sorc for my first character when I first started TERA. Sorcerers have flashier skills, but the archer is easier to handle for new players. It really all comes down to what you prefer.
