New Player on CH
Hello everyone, I've finally decided to give this game a second shot after my short play through as an Elin warrior back in 2015. So far I'm enjoying the game especially the plot. (rip IoD tho
) I'm literally reading all the text of the story quest and it's all good.
I'm playing a Human Female Warrior btw since I get triggered by the way Elins draw the twin swords
There are a few things that I want to ask though:
1. I've read that Elin skill animations are most favorable to the warrior class, does this greatly affect DPS compared to the other races?
2. I'm pretty much at defensive stance for the entirety of my game, is it possible for warriors to
compete for the tanking role against brawlers?
Aggro is all over the place
3. Some people say that crafting is broken, does this mean gathering and crafting are no longer viable ways to make gold?
For the Federation! :awesome:

For Q 1:I don't know.
For Q 2:Probably not
For Q 3:Sort of, it depends what the thing you're crafting or gathering is
1) the best race for warrior is castanic, both male and female (female is better), both for animations and the crit passive skill, but the difference between castanic and other races is barely noticeable;
2) yes, warriors can compete with brawlers (just at lvl 65 tho), but becoming a mediocre warrior tank requires much more effort and practice than becoming a good brawler;
3) yes, crafting is dead and useless, we'll get a small crafting revamp along with the gearing revamp that's coming in october/november.
Greetings
P.S. Here's a warrior tanking guide, in case you wanna read something about it
In regards to your questions (although this is a bit late)
1) For warriors, IIRC it doesn't make that much of a difference. Unless you plan on being extremely competitive in PvP (and even then, the PvP scene is pretty much dead at this point) I wouldn't worry about it.
2) Warriors have been given huge buffs - and are continuing to receive huge buffs - to D-Stance to make them viable tanks. With practice and tanking knowledge, a warrior tank can be just as good if not better than a Brawler. As stated before, though, being a good warrior tank involves much more effort.
As a sidenote to your "I only ever play in dstance" statement, I would highly suggest not being that warrior who stays in D-Stance despite queuing as DPS in dungeons. It disrupts people who've actually queued as tanks, and messes up the aggro making the rest of the fights difficult as the tank has to fight you for aggro not because of damage output, but because of the extra and unnecessary threat you are generating. You're very liable to be kicked if you remain in D-Stance after being asked to switch.
3) Most methods of crafting have been devalued, yes. Creating weapons and armor are no longer a source of income, though etching can possibly be a source of income although it has a very high risk high reward if you get into it. Crafting will be made more relevant in the recent gear patch that KTERA just got though we won't be seeing it applied to NA/EU until the end of the year.
