Power players are breaking the game

I've started playing Tera, enjoying the game and the history... it's really something, but... the power players (ppl) are a pain...
It's about playing together, learn and teach something but the ppl don't let enjoy the dungeons don't talk or teach and constantly mock and insult "newbies"
The dungeons are a race against time, the play alone, loot and of course wait for the other players before the boss
Tera it's about play together not playing for the ppl with new chars, I suggest several times to wait for other to loot, heal and the first and more important point

Let make the history and optional missions!

But I only receive mocks and insults, I don't care, but the point of MMORPG it's falling dawn in Tera, no more cooperation in dungeons only madness race for tag the ppl and let the others behind, then nobody tank, nobody flank, etc.

Kick player... it's ask for trouble and I am here for fun not struggling against someone in other country, is about get fun with others from other countries, and only I have found few players that agree with me

I suggest a new kind of "filter" one for ppl and other for missions and history, that's because all your work in the dungeons is lost. Only ppl matter... sad.

Thanks for a beautiful game!

How many characters have you levelled up? Because when you're on your 17th or more, believe me, you know exactly what the story of the game is and that classes play very differently at level 65.

Now, I agree that it wouldn't hurt to have other players stop for a few minutes to do a story mission, but hey, you can't control them. If you ask and they refuse, not much you can do about it, except: try to do it alone (now or later), or come back with another group and ask again.

I have altitus, I stay with player to do the quest, and ask other to go the boss and wait there, usually we can catch up by them.

But you can't blame them really, those quests are actually the problem, you might not be bothered with 5 mins standing there and kill couple of mobs on some dungeons, but it really gets boring and annoying later.

Those quests needed to be revamped, because they are not really that interesting, we are running a dungeon, then waiting for 5 mins in the middle of it for a boring quest is stupid.

You can do what I said, or you could get a team of 2 or 3 players with yourself in to the dungeon via IMS, so you all 2 or 3 can finish the quests, also there is another thing you can do which usually works, run the dungeon fast like other players do, when got out, ask a high level to help you do the quests, many level 65 players want them for achievements and also takes no time for them.

I have leveled more than 20 characters on many servers and always wait for people that ask to do quest missions.

The problem with them is that few new players get together to do things at their own pace and end up doing IM always and most of the times they will get matched with Alts from people that want to lvl up in one day till 65.

I think that IM has brought as much benefits than many backwards and we need to understand that there are still new people arriving at the game and we should try to keep them rather than make them feel like a hidrance.

This quote is one of the most important rules of playing a MMORPG. Every newcomer's perspective of TERA will always be different than ours, especially because their learning an entirely new UI and the difference tab-targeting and camera-based targeting.

When I first came to TERA, it took me months to realize that there was an enchanting system, and that you had to change gears regularly. When I arrived on the gloomy island of dawn, I tried to move my character by clicking on the ground in UI mode... that's when I realized that it wasn't possible. I even thought you had to left-click each monster before fighting it or your attacks would never hit... I never really understood the entire system until it they started making the game more simple for players.

I know in my heart that it takes time for players to adjust to these different aspects of TERA... aspects that we are use to, but not them. I believe that we should always respect the pace they play at, because every player out there is a part of our TERA community. Heck, maybe one day they will become the best PVE/PVP player there is in NA. You never really know their true skill until you give someone a chance... just like how someone has for you.
  • Always helped new ppl with dung quests and will. I don't care about how fast another ppl want to rush. Many people in my guild appeared in it just as people who were irritated by attitutes of impatient and indifferent to anything else except "pew pew" kids.
Think all we can do is threat people how we want to be treated and find guild or friends with same view of things. Same for them. If they want rush they can find power lvling friends or guild.

Well, BFTP was removed because of attitude of those players, one of the best thing for level 65 players was BTFP. Community sock

I doubt it was removed specifically because of that, but I'm not denying that it may have been a significant reason.
  • i wish they bring back BFTP it was so much better for everyone

tho I gotta say I found out some gems there like a player saying he was "too good to need crystals". Yes. That Lv ~48 or so was then cussing us all to the heavens and above cause we were the idiots that don't know how to run it.

Blast from the Past was pretty cancerous for the leveling players when they got a rushing idiot indeed too. The concept was interesting but the human factor ruins it pretty well.

Adding to the topic now: I also agree that you should team up/find friends that want to take a "chill run" at a dungeon instead of going with randoms and expecting this, it's people, they're random after all. You may get lucky or not. But if you team up with people who're specifically into what you wanted too, then it will be a nice experience. That was pretty much the only way I got around learning new stuff when I started (AKA learning the entire game, and nowadays learning new dungeons).
I don't think the issue is with the community itself not being receptive of the newcomers, but the places where these newcomers are not finding receptive people. Instance Matching is one of those places that are a mixed bag of gems and crap, you may find anything from the top dog players on their full +15 entering for a rush run and suddenly changing their mind to help a newcomer into a learning/chill/quest run instead, down to people who don't even know more than clicking a mouse on base gear level for the dungeon trying to kick any non +15 Deathwrack other than himself.
Long story short: if you want some helping people and chill runs to quest and appreciate the stuff, you can't go Instance Matching, you'll have to cherry pick a bit more, and a guild focused on this in specific may be the perfect case.

So do I, but that doesn't change the fact we're in the minority.

That's a problem with the game tutorials, pointing new players towards IM over LFG. Not much we can do about that.

Agreed, but like I said, we're the minority, and the people who need to hear this most likely don't bother coming to the forums.
  • Well. As as i said b4 eme only cares about money so give them money and they will pay attention to what ur saying here. VG menu ruined all they cutted all story quests to make it easy as [filtered]. Dont be surprise that hole story quest removal could coming soon... no one knows what other stupid change will come..... People cry in the forum like babies when rewards are not "worth it" cuz they want easy things. Tera is no loger what it was when i started playing back in 2012 or so.
  • As I said new to Tera, I have done my homework and learn the basics about how to play, I don't know what happens in the +50lv (right now 43lv lancer) and I've read the post above, somehow agree with me.
Solutions, find people to fit your game style... that is obvious you can't tag someone that no fit in your game style, then the question is equally obvious

How find people, even in your guild that fit with you? instance matching, and dungeons...

And for newcomers ( the most below 40lv) the dungeons are a new experience, where to go, what to do, etc and the ppl don't let discover that things, and that is lame
How difficult is to filter a dungeon for a kind of player? it takes time I know I have working with computers for 20 years, impossible NOT! Filtering 20 million of community is a big task! but for improve the game experience
    I think I'll give that a shot...

queue times for leveling dungeons take forever, filtering it would mean more or less infinite matching time.
  • Not more time than a new player invert in this, I've found even 2 ppl for dungeon. Almost all players want the game fit their needs but the extreme needs of ppl are breaking the most simple rule...

    playing together...

This is just a forum for expose simple or grave issues, but what is the point to playing a MORPG if one player (ppl) clear several rooms before the others catch him? what is the point when one player (ppl) rush mindless for lv up without meet other players? All the work of the programmers lost because you can't do the missions or history for one ppl?

I will open another ticket about ppl and try to get a community consensus about their behavior

    Salve community!
