Reasons why IMS is so sht currently
1. There has been a movement, a crusade, ever since TERA went F2P, "Avoid IMS because it's trap, use LFG instead."
2. This movement has been picked up by most of the Veteran players now. They avoid IMS like its worse than death/cancer/AIDS/ebola/fill in the worst thing you can think of.
3. Most of the players who use IMS are rejects who got refused in LFG for having wrong crystals, bad rolls, or w/e other reasons... or they are just new.
4. There's no incentive to use IMS. AINM use to give lot of feedstocks if you IMS. Yes, it was abused/glitched but that's BHS/EME's fault for not fixing it.
5. Skilled players who try IMS end up either wasting 1hr wiping with them or carrying the whole run. Either way wasted 1hr of their time when they could have done the dungeon in 20mins or less with a LFG. They all say the same thing afterwards, "Never again"
6. TERA website need's to have more guides for new players. Class guides, dungeon guides, and even simple guides like crystal setup... There's actually a lot of guides that players have made over the years. But it's all lost in the old forums. New forums is pretty shtty atm. Just dumps all the guides into 1 section making it very chaotic to find what you are looking for. The old forum wasn't all that helpful either. We need a MOD who actually knows the game so they can tell apart which guides are good enough to be stickied and keep things organized so information is readily/easily accessible. Needed that player council before Ninja patch went live. Essentialmana.com is hands down the best TERA website. Although it's a Fansite, it has better content and more useful information than EME's website. EME does have guides but they are all very simple explanations of what things are. Doesn't get into any of the details.
If you guys can think of more reasons, feel free to add them.
Possible Solutions:
1. Add incentives to IMS.
2. Balance the matching system somehow. Either using iLvL, amount of dungeon clears, or combination of both.
3. Perhaps put in IMS dungeon rating system like they do in BG. Can be done by clear times, like crusade high score dungeons. Faster clear times = higher rating.
4. Add lot of guides and advertise them on TERA Home Webpage so new players can read them and know where to find it. Also people can point them out to new players when you make it easily accessible.

Same as above.
This isn't true, otherwise I guess everyone is using the wrong crystals and rolls. I find ims to be a bit more convenient than using lfg for some dungeons.
There's nothing they can do to "fix" it. People will abuse anything that gives the best rewards. You would have to put some limitations as well, which doesn't really do much to improve ims. All you're asking for is for premades to have a reason to use ims, even though they'll be playing together and not the people who originally use ims anyways. This results in no positive change for ims but simply more rewards for everyone as a whole. So, you might as well just add the rewards to all dungeons at that point.
There actually had been information for crystals multiple times in-game. People won't look or use what is given to them if they don't want to. In fact, some even reject advice from other people that try telling them what crystals they should use. Other than updated pvp guides, it's easy to find just about anything for pve if you actually try looking for it. They could try bringing more attention to player made guides/sites, but other than that, doing anything themselves becomes a waste of resources that could be used for something productive.
Why do people avoid IMS and do LFG?
Servers. I'd rather play with my friends, guildies, people I know from my server, or establish new connections in my server, before doing IMS. Veteran players know people, and they know who they want to play with, and how much time they want to dedicate to specific dungeons, and such. It's a rather simple answer. A lot of players are willing to IMS, tho, but it's like an RNG lootbox.
It's out there, but not easily accessible. You really have to look hard for them and search. No point in having new forums when all the useful things are still back in old forums. I want the guide section to be more organized so it's easy to find things you are looking for. So you can actually tell a new player exactly where they can find a specific guide they need instead of saying "Google it"
Not easily accessible?
"xxxxxx guide tera"
Replace xxxxxx with whatever you need and it appears, usually best answers are in the top 5 links. You don't learn how to drive at the car rental, or how to paint at the art store. Google, YouTube, fansites, peers, other players in server, global chat, etc. A lot of players already dedicate time and effort to make written guides and videos about the game and everything in it. There have been a series of fansites as well.
If you can access a search engine, the information is easily accessible, and everyone needs to recognize that.
Have u read the ones found on google, youtube, etc?? Lot of those links you speak of are very old guides. Not accurate anymore or irrelevant.
its actually 7th on the list, and essentialmana is a great website, but doesn't have everything. especially pvp. by the time they went through all those links, they would have wasted hours. why not just have things on our forum where it should be? instead of having to google it? just having a sticky post for essentialmana on the guide section would help. also for new players its hard for them to figure out what posts are relevant to them. veterans can just skim through and see if its accurate/up to date or not, but new players would have to read over the details to see if its for them. just make it easier and have it on our forums.
