Even then nobody harassed me at least, nice people there, they knew I was a newb with crap gear and took me in anyway.
Still, it boils down mosty to the new rotation of OP classes instead of anything else and Slayer has just not seen their day yet, I also remember people saying Slayer DPS was top class back then but didn't bother much with it, I just wanted to carry candy in Kumas and make my Elin cute, that when it wasn't just leveling her up
Nah, the first release of one was in October of 2015. Hence it was around a year after the period we're talking about.

Where exactly in my post did I say it was balanced? I fully admitted that Slayer dps was above average at the time and was broken when you got ICB RNG.
In regards to pvp, yes you are bad if you are dying strictly to an ICB>BS combo as it was and is fairly easy to counter. I'm not trying to argue that their overall damage in pvp wasn't insane for the 1-2 months; but rather, that your initial statement about why they were strong in pvp is wrong. As I said in my previous post it was solely because the base damage on their core skills were not scaled properly for pvp.

Slayer was tied with Gunner for a while too (it wasn't a 'brief period'), which is why they both ended up at the far bottom for a while. Every class but those two were buffed repeatedly to be on par with them and later Ninja resulting in both falling behind and receiving buffs.
thats what i was thinking too
bc i remember just before gunners dropped people were taking multiple slayers to SCHM and DS upper runs.. that was like 2015 ish i think? And they were strong for a long while before that so it wasn't really just a "couple months"

Compare slayer with gunner it's not a good idea.
They are not connected and gunner it's not dead there are many around.
Remember one uses sword other a big gun.
