last time i check we dont have to buy the game to play tera ;)

cosmetic and mount even the voucher can be buy with gold in tera, so i stay with what i say tera is free and i dont remember we have to pay to enter in some new areas or a new bg

the expans in guild war bring you new skills and new maps and maybe new class and of course they are not free :)

    so in tera is free

in black desert you only need to pay once time

and in guild war 2 it cost you over 100$ in 3 payments if you are veterans from 2012

and anyway black desert cost only 8$ for guild war 2 you need to pay 50$ to enjoy the full content

so is mean in tera is easy to have multi account

in black desert multi account are not too much expensive

in guild war 2 multi account may be expensive if you want each account enjoy the full content

ok i trust you than guild war 2 pve is better, but at least with tera i feel more free, at least if you dont like tera it doesnt cost you $, i am not sure you can have payback if you dislike guild war 2 and a mistake of 50$ is hurt :s

You don't have to pay to play GW2 either anymore. It's free and you can buy the expansions with gold as I said. The expansion and game isn't even 50$ either if you paid for it.

Either way, there's no such thing as free, tell everyone to play Tera for free and see how long the game stays published. F2p games are like welfare, taking tax money from workers and giving it to the receiver. You can't call it free when someone else paid for you.

I didn't say GW2 pve was better, I said their systems were. If you buy an outfit with cash or gold on GW2 it can be used by all your characters on the account for all races and gender, these outfits can be dyed too and cost less than Tera's outfits that generally can not be dyed and can only be used on a single character. They also have the old transmog system that Tera had for armor, and all armor and weapon skins unlocked can be used by any character on the account too, it just costs a token that you can get for free by playing too (I have like 70 and I rarely play). Compare that to Tera's extremely limited Fashion Coupon system. GW2 even has better character creation and it's not like their system is advanced either. Their open world is also actually used for multiple things.

Tera really only wins combat and visual wise in my opinion.

By the way, don't forget Tera required you to pay before playing, any game that shifts to free to play completely after being buy to play is generally not a good thing. Tera couldn't survive beyond an f2p model where as other games like GW2 don't have to be completely f2p to survive. Even without the paywall Tera is still smaller. It's safe to say many people prefer GW2 over Tera because of how the game is setup, the better combat Tera has isn't enough to keep an average person sticking to Tera when the rest of the game is frustrating to them.

New expansion is 29.99 with HoT being 20$ and the base game being 0$. The 54$ one is a deluxe package which comes with extra stuff discounted. Or alternatively, you convert gold to gems and spend 0$. By the way, new games cost 50-100$ or games cost 15$/month where they end up costing more than expansions do and more than new games of the same franchise.

My GW2 account is a free account I made in December 2015 after they allowed free accounts to play, and most of the extras on the account were not paid for with cash, I simply converted gold into gems. Gems=EMP by the way, and how you buy Gems with gold is easier than EMP. There's a tab specifically to convert gold->gems or gems->gold without having to ask or trade with anyone. Which also means you aren't sitting around waiting up to multiple days for a seller. The other benefit of this means you can also buy things with a mixture of gold and cash together.

So, are you saying you don't want to grind gold to get expansions? Because what about Elite Status or Tier 10 Reward Emporium? Both of which provide absurd advantages to those who have them with the second one requiring an absurd amount or time, or an absurd amount of cash. Then the fact Elite Status over time will cost equal to or greater than what paying for expansions would cost.

Either way, there's the whole "You get what you pay for". Tera stopped charging in order to play because it offers nothing of true value compared to other games that charge.
What do you get on Tera now a days?

-1 end game raid that an extreme minority play
-1 end game dungeon that a small portion actually plays
-A few mid tier and low tier instances
-A big open world where 99% of it is empty and unused unless EME sets up an event which results in a long download for no reason
-Low quality pvp; limited activity; no competitive environment as it's rewards, rewards, rewards; Kicking, afking, trolling, rage quitting
-Amazing combat system that degrades as ping goes up, and the poor optimization of the game causes fps issues that directly degrades the combat

    How about non-gameplay stuff?

Tera can have some cosmetics that look good, but their system for it is horrible, it's literally either their actual skin or something glued onto them which means BHS is very limited in what they do. Then there's the fact a lot of cosmetics are actually recolors/reskins of existing cosmetics. Do you think people would be happy paying for the game, then paying for these costumes with that quality? Standard cosmetics are also 10~20$ and can not be dyed, and are used on a single character.

Many Cosmetics being aimed at just Elin or females in general
Have you seen all the hats that clip through hair/ears/horns?

    Classes being gender/race locked.

There's a reason why most of these free to play MMORPGs are small and don't last as long. The only genre that's really done well as free to play are competitive games like Mobas. The bigger MMORPGs have pay walls either through paying for expansions, or paying monthly.

in tera you dont need to be t10 or spend emp or elite or use big amount of golds to go to fate of arun map or stepstone island

you dont need that to join tank arena, kuma royale

you dont need that to play reaper, gunner, brawler, ninja and valkyrie

but in guild war 2 you need expans to join new maps, get new class and new pvp

so yes tera is free, guild war 2 is expensive ;)

when i create my account in tera i can play now a valkyrie or a brawler

in guild war 2 you have to pay or wait long time and grind to get the stuffs from expans

i dont compare guild war 2 with new game or wow, but with old game, you know than black desert only cost 8$ ? for 8$ you can enjoy now dark knight or striker in guild war 2 it is at least 20$ or you have to grind and wait to enjoy the new content

so yes guild war 2 is expensive

yes i know wow is more expensive

so it is only what people prefer

it is just than if i wrong with tera it only cost me time

if i wrong with guild war 2 it cost me at least 30$ :/

from what i understand you need at least the guild war 2 and the 2 expans to get the minimun standard

at least tera is free expans, so you dont need to buy more to have a chance to get the best stuff :)

anyway guild war 2 competition is black desert :)

Tera isn't free, someone else paid even if you didn't (Which by the way you can buy GW2 expansions with gold if you convert them to gems...). Either way, unless you never spend money GW is actually cheaper given just about everything bought there is account wide or can just be moved between characters, unlike Tera where you have to purchase something for each character.

Yup and gear never truly gets outdated in most senses. You can get legendary's, ascended armors at your wish and they aren't that much of a stat difference unless you plan to do high end fractals or the raids. Which I love. I can log in move my ascended armor from 1 character to the next if I am having a day where I just wanna be a different class.

The appearance change system is so much cheaper even through gold or gems vs what you get in tera. PLUS sliders plenty of room to change hairs and not limited to look like majority of everyone else :) Don't like your gear appearance do a few things here and there BAM accountwide and you can farm the currency easily to change the gear appearance!

And although some are sour about mounts. I Am tickled to have option of the bunny for my asura ranger or even my norn engi. Though I would have thrown more money at the screen had the mounts been ranger pets that only asura could ride!!!
  • were did you notice that new expanse is very similar to Aion's desert. Tera is fun but Paying for more content is not a big deal the lore is heavy with gw2 and that is what keeps people coming back

what do you say is true in 2000-2010 time

but over 100$ for a video game it is very a lot when today video game with same size than guild war 2 may cost only 20$

Because in Guild Wars 2 - they're actually concerned with lore and immersion, and don't have any of those trash joke mounts. We have a few gag gliders but even those aren't that bad. You can keep your corny joke mounts in this dying game for all I care, I don't mind. XD

for lore and immerson i have single player video game for that for exemple mass effect, witcher 3, xenoblade, dark soul, skyrim, fallout 4

i play mmorpg, because we can have fun with other players in a video game

since i see you argue with lesbian vi in the thread tera is dead ? i can say i just argue with a tera hater

if you really want to go this way just remember that, why your basic guild war 2 is f2p ? it seem than even your guild war 2 was dying and need to be f2p to not be a empty game, but off course like all the mmorpg they need $ source, so they force players to pay for more contents, i respect that, us in tera we pay for elite or the tera store, so what ?

anyway you have your reason to love guild war 2 and i have my reason to love tera we dont share the same taste, i dont hate guild war 2, because i have good souvenir of my experience in guild war 2000 decade, now if you want waste your time to spit against tera against lesbian vi in the thread tera is dead ? have fun with that

i know tera is decline, but dont say to me guild war 2 is at peak, if the basic game turn to f2p it is for good reason and it seem than the game suffer the same problem than all the old game, we have our personal reason to love our favorite mmorpg

i already said why i prefer tera and you already said why you prefer guild war 2, anyway for lore and immersion i am already busy with witcher 3, mass effect, xenoblade, i play mmorpg, because i can play with other people

you do know GW2 play with other people is what happens all the time in the open world not just dungeons or battlegrounds.no need to make parties/groups unless you want to. But I like both games personally
