Gunner and Slayer buffs, thoughts?

It's patch season again!

For those that mains or used to play Slayer/Gunner:

1) What are your thoughts on the Slayer/Gunner damage revamp?
2) Have you notice a DPS improvement post revamp (significant or not) ?
3) Would you recommend Slayer/Gunner after the revamp? Standing against other classes?
4) Will you roll the class again as a main?
5) Anything EM could have done better aside from minor % damage boost?

Ultimately, Caramel or Butter pecan ice cream?

    Lvling a gunner again, and I can feel the boost in DPS, with utility gunner has, I feel the class is in a better place, haven't played my slayers yet after patch tho.

    I still say a utility buff (such as altering the way crit glyphs work or making ICB more like Deadly Gamble or Fiery Rage) would work better than yet another raw damage boost for slayers, but what can you do, y'know?

  • @SageWindu Is the DPS for Slayer viable now? Previously I had one at lvl 62, and before getting my Avatar weapon it just didn't seem to do any damage compared to other classes.

    (I know that's because of my gear at that level but still).

    I'm not a serious enough player to make that sort of qualification, unfortunately.

  • Slayer is still garbage.
  • The class "revamps" are just something to distract you from asking about the super low population, tera console or real content vs recycled dungeons. I've been here and it just makes me sad to watch it dwindle as the end of the community is more toxic than friendly. Like it used to be years back. :(

    I do like I am no longer disliked from the start by being x class that I have played for y years upon entering a dungeon/raid. But there are still snobs that will boot you for not being +15 p2w crew no matter how much they boost our favorite classes damage...again.

    The problem with Slayer is the same issue the class has always had: We cannot apply our damage quick enough and have it crit - We need to do ALL OF THE FOLLOWING AND AGAIN HAVE IT CRIT but you can't expect us to have a mobs back for a Overpowered Hearthrust > Overhand Slash > Eviscerate > OHS > Measured Slice > OHS (assuming OHS comes off cooldown). We also NEED all that stuff to crit and none of it is guaranteed (save MS). As stated above, when under In Cold Blood we crit Ultimate OHS 30% LESS than a normal OHS. One split second of bad ping and you lose what advantage we have at applying this damage with casting time buffs we receive chaining in this order. No class in this game suffers a worse penalty for not critting and oh right, we crit at the worst over all percentage of any DPS class. Great! I have 270 Crit rate on my own and it's like I don't stack that stat at all, which is silly. Furthermore, we need a buff from Dash (so give up an escape) to speed up the casting of Knockdown Blow for those small windows we need to just sneak something in. Whirlwind and Backhand Slash are too slow a cast time as filler for when the main chain is on Cooldown. We need much faster animations on basically everything.

    Slayer is still garbage and will continue to be garbage even after Valkyrie is nerfed, possibly in the next patch.

    Exactly what people say, Slayer needs partial revamp on self buff skills.

    For example: You have to use Rush and overpower to do extra dps, rush can de-position you and get you rekt, also waste your time, then you have to use op and again with animation you lose time, you have to do this as soon as they come up for boosts.

    I suggest, Rush changes to a skill such as what Zerk got, and its attack speed passive should be added to overpower, this change can help a lot. But BHS doesn't give a rat buttttttt what NA players suggest.

    Highest slayer dps on vshm lakan is 1.9m/s and this was before buffs lmaoo with buffs same dps would be around 2.1m/s or more which is on par with archer but real problem of slayer is crits,icb rng and harder to play

    Okay, but I'm not a tryhard lol (not saying that slayer was), but I'm not maxing out my gear to +15 whatever to do that kind of DPS. I usually get full +12 mid tier gear and call it quits, so I'm not projecting to do 2mil/sec.

    I'll speak as a Slayer.

    1) Meh, I really don't like the fact that I can't shorten ICB with KDS anymore other than that it's alright.
    2) Improvement? Yes. Significant? Not too sure.
    3) Generally No, as for squaring up against other classes better than Ninja I guess.
    4) Been maining Slayer since I've played this game.
    5) Make ICB/Ultimate Overhand have actual consistency like give UHOS a 100% damage boost during ICB or something instead of the crap we have now.

    Caramel I guess.

    Yeah, it blows that slayers not getting the love they deserve. I used to main a slayer pre-65 era and boy was it the class to be.
    As for the gunner, I started leveling one for the hell of it (currently 50). Feels better compared to when I made one a month back.

    When you say "talents" what do you mean? Are there abilities in KR we don't have? If you are telling us a typical Korean gamer - which has the dexterity and situational awareness some of us marvel at - couldn't destroy on Valkyrie over Slayer I'd say you're FoS.     The talent system (from what I understand) is some kind of a "mini-passive" system in KTera. When you level up, you can get these "mini-passives" that make your skills better.
