TERA on Console
Is there some sort of faq somewhere regarding the details of TERA on Consoles? I am a Founder of the PC version and wouldn't mind trying it on PS4. The questions I'm looking for answers to are;
1.Will I get to keep my characters from the PC version or will it require a new account entirely?
2. Can be answered from the first question, will console and PC be segregated?
3. Will Keyboard and mouse still be an option?, if FFXIV can do it surely Tera can.
I would honestly hate to have to start all over as an oroginal PC player but the PS4 could be what gets me back into it again.

> Unfortunately, there's been no new information yet, so the answers to your questions are still not known. Hopefully they will announce something this Fall.
Ah ok, so it's not that I can't find it as much as it just doesn't exist. I assumed there was some information I missed since what little I did find out it was announced earlier this year for 2017 and we are fast approaching the end of the year with no signs of even teaser official live streams.
1 - You will probably need a new account entirely. I don`t know the technical details, but id assume that if they are using new servers (or whatever else new), then it is likely that they will consider the new version of Tera as being a separate entity entirely, and that it will be treated as such.
2 - I believe that they will want to create a separation between the PC and console community. Managing two different entities of the same product would be much easier (imo) then, lets say, having to address both communities demands, as a single unit. You know, technical issues, content, credit transactions, etcetc. Thats just a small example, i`m sure you could come up with more. Also, it is probable that the PC community might be a little hostile towards the console community, given the nature of the console controllers themselves, being slower to operate then a mouse and a keyboard. Many people already act toxic towards newcomers, so imagine how they would react towards players that genuinely have a slower in hands-on response time, regardless of determination or skill. Not to mention other aspects. Like, if the console version will have better ping, better FPS (which it will probably have), then those alone are enough to become a subject of controversy on themselves. Ive even heard of people that bought different graphic cards, tweaked they're options, read online guides to no end and much more, all in the hopes of improving their game play experience.
3 - Most likely. Some people play PC Tera via console controllers, so why not. Though even if you can`t achieve that by using official conventional tweaks offered via the platform itself, i`m sure that overtime alternatives will present themselves.
Let me iterate something, a free to play game is unlikely to have a gold/ps plus membership requirement otherwise silver membership/non-ps plus membership wouldn't be able to play the console version
> You just need to be connected to your xbox live/psn account for the eme account linking you pretty much would have your character from the pc version

I have Ps plus for overwatch so it's all relative. I don't mind starting over since the last time I played Kumasylum had just come out so it wouldn't be a bad idea to refresh anyway I'm sure alot has been changed and revamped enough to relearn.
he said that UK/EU version its gonna release december. is that the same for USA? hope some answer from spacecats or any other moderator that can confirm it please ^^ tks
This is actually a case where I am not trolling. I'm quite serious. With a confidence level of 70% I can say that Tera Console will either be canceled or delayed forever. As someone who is a 3D artist that started work in the gaming industry when I was in my early 20s as a QA tester, I'll give you all quick explanation why:
The issue Tera is going to run into is known as "QA Standards". Developing for major third party console releases is very different than for PC. Anyone can make a PC game and self-publish it as PC is a largely open platform with minimal required libraries. Simply by compiling an executable the deed is done. But for consoles, in order for a game to make it to say Playstation the game must actually be submitted to a team of sony professionals who playtest the game against a list of requirements in order for the program to be approved for use on their platform. This includes simple things such as "Must show our logo for X seconds on startup", "Must not load for longer than X seconds without interaction" to "Must not drop below X fps during X% of gametime" "Must not crash more than X% of completions". The latter is where Tera fails. This means that in order for Tera console to be a thing, BHS will have to actually fix the extreme performance and optimization issues that Tera has on the UDK platform. IMO the way Tera was designed makes this VERY difficult. So this leads to a few possibilities:
1. BHS will somehow strike a deal with Sony/Microsoft to be more lenient on their QA requirements ( Very low chance. Exceptions happen but are rare. ) - 5% chance of happening
2. BHS will actually put in the time and effort to rebuild the way Tera runs through UDK and optimize the game. -25% chance
3. BHS decides it's too much effort and axes the project upon realizing that they do not have the resources or talent to rebuild Tera to pass console QA standards . -70% chance
And I would give it even lower chances if it wasn't for the fact that PUKB is making Bluehole mad bank.
Now, it may be that the game gets cancelled for a different reason. There are risks in all development. And I'm not claiming it'll necessarily be a "good port" (there are plenty of bad ports that still make it pass the minimal threshold for certification). But optimization would have been a central part of the project scope in the first place (along with completely redoing the UI), so it's not like this is some unexpected surprise. It's not like they just plan to throw TERA PC on the Playstation/Xbox Store and call it a day.
It seems that you dont know too much about Videogame industry. When a company decide to release a trailer it's because they have something that works. In other case, they wouldn't cancel this game just because technical problems as you state, they would cancel this game because they think there won't be any chance to success.
IMO, I think it's a good oportunity for Tera to success in consoles.
