Why is apothecary dye so expensive?

I did a race change and it's going to cost me 2x the cost of the race changer to redye my costumes lol. Wish I had known

Apothecary where removed from some sources and having less way to get them makes its price to rise.
I see. thanks. What was the previous way to obtain them? I only recall the federation bill store but those are untradeable.
they said they would add more ways to get them, but that never happened. I'd say they were just doing it to force people to use EMP for dyes, but even that doesn't make sense if they replaced them with keys because those would sell way more. more likely it was EME's innocent attempt to replace something they thought was useless with something generally more useful to people.
Fed bill merchant sells it for 100 (Fed bills) each.
The tittle itself is an over reaction, also, the thing that makes apothecary that expensive on broker is the demmand of such item. I kinda agree that more than 4k gold is not ideal for the kind of item it is.
What I'm referring to are posts within the thread itself, where the very notion that these items would get more expensive than they already were was shrugged off. And now, here we are.
I think the rise in price for the item was quite obvious, the thing debatable would be, why people values this item that much? why this item have enought demand so people complain for the price other player is selling it?
As things currently are you can get an apothecary each mont and every 2 months you can get a one more, I don't see this as an issue but rather a complain to have something that not was meant to have that often in the first place, so much things we have received over the past events that is weird having people complaining by things included on them.
We had events rewarding lots of maths and a few days/weeks after someone make a post about feedstocks shortage, a little while later we had another event doing the same and in few days/weeks someone make a post about enchanting mats as mes, mwa having high prices at broker, most of those events gave also apothecaries, I remember to get several from last kyras event, and then now some people complain because of prices.
OP in this thread at least don't make it sound as if it is the end of the world but only an inconvenience for him, in that other thread people even sound as if it was a serious issue.
Just to make it clear, I think prices on apothecaries are fair by now but if people demand more supply then it could get more expensive.

also its not very fair to lump every individual making requests into one group of "complainers". I didn't ask for any feedstock, I didn't ask for any alkahest, or enchanting mats. Just dyes. And if they're gonna be 5k ea, at least put them in a merchant so it can sink gold.
You are not lucky, even at non-peak hours I can see some people selling EMP... well, sunday is a little bit tricky on that I must agree.
Anyway, the price off an item on broker is not about his equivalence on EMP store but the supply and demmand, if it continues to rise in price then is because there are more people trying to buy it with gold than people selling them, in these cases a shortage is going to come for that item on brokers and you will have to resort to expend your own money for that or find an EMP seller to get it.
Apothecaries were nothing but a privilege for players and now were replaced for keys in Elite boxes, not sure how this made them rise that much on price when Elite boxes were never the main supply for that item anyway, events were the ones. So I have to say that I also don't understand why sellers get so greedy and rise the price so much in a short time when that item is more likely to be present in the next event in one less than a month.
I only started playing in 2014 but I don't ever remember them being part of any event since then. I knew several people who had hundreds in their banks who started playing before that though, so maybe that's when those events occurred. Regardless, all those people I knew who had hundreds sitting in their bank don't even log into the game anymore.
Everything to some extent is a privelage, and it's not like I was asking for free +15 gear or something like that lmao. It's just dyes. They give out enchanting mats and vm mats (even even vm crates) all the time so I don't get why with dyes it's such an issue. 2 dyes a month isn't enough for someone with 20 dyeable costumes.
The issue would not be how many deyable costumes you have, many people have around that number or more, but your habits.
Some what people got on their hand great amounts of apothecaries, most trought events i continue telling you, and as it was not an item they really wanted then it got cheaper than the ratio on EMP for cash shop items.
Now again, even so, I don't understand either why people increased that much the price when the only thing changed was on Elite boxes and at least on my experience it was already rare to get many of them throught it, I have openend more than a thousand of them and got a few dozens, that would be like 1 each month from Elite boxes, plus 1 each month from fed bills. I agree sellers got greedy and tried to rise the price of apothecaries the most they can.
Might want to take note of who's been selling them.
