All these consumables are there in this first place to enable you to have fun playing the game. This isn't a job where you get paid in in-game items. It isn't some sort of investment based on an expected level of return. Community events like this are always about gathering a whole ton of people and sharing in mass chaos; that's certainly how this event was pitched on the news post and last Friday's stream. If that's not fun for you, then at least you know now to spend your time doing other things.
(Of course there's always room for constructive criticism and things could always be made better. But come on...)
Glad i did it, playing with 20 FPS for an hour and a half......no thanks. They definitely need to rethink the rewards they hand out for these events. Nobody likes spending hours on an event you made, with terrible FPS, lag, crashes, DC's and one shot kills to receive.....basically nothing. Even if it's for fun, people will still get upset because you know, it's humanity we're talking about here. Some of us get offended over everything.
Edit:Plus, i'm fairly sure i didn't see a mention of rewards of any kind for participating.
This is actually kind of ironic considering who this was referring to. It's simple, and it was said before. If you don't like it, then simply don't participate. These bam events have been done in the past, and if there are people online, most would like to participate. Of course you will have little FPS with all those people in these areas, and it would certainly cause rendering issues. It kind of seems you're the one who didn't know much about nexus, considering nexus was a daily (except Wednesdays) that you've done specifically to receive some items, credits, and materials, kind of like IoD dailies. No rewards were mentioned in the news post, so you should be happy that you got something for even participating. Also, it was your own decision to participate and use all those items that you've listed and you weren't forced to.
tried entering them in shortly after the event and I participated in it for around 10 minutes but quit after my game crashed twice.
oh well.
The portal would be somewhere accessible (such as Velika?) but normally invisible and inactive. The GMs could make it appear at will so a single instance is made for each party/raid that enters, just as any other dungeon, and then the GMs can spawn whatever they wish to spawn inside. This would hopefully reduce a lot of the performance issues, but also open doors for more controlled events and different things (PvE competitions?). If there are any rewards they could be easily distributed by the one raid inside, instead of having to fight for loot with half the server like when Spacecats spawned Dreadspire chests and only the raid that got first hit could claim the loot.
These events could probably be streamed easily by EME too.
Now I'm not saying all events involving killing stuff would have to be held on that event instance, the open world ones could still be done since some people do enjoy them.
From what I saw it seems possible GMs can make instance portals appear or disappear since I recall they forgot to activate one of the dungeons not long ago (I don't remember which, perhaps event ABHM?). It re-appeared without a need for a server restart or anything when EME noticed it wasn't there and spawned it.
I couldn't agree more. It was just an event and it was fun watching these bams melt down to 0 in like 10 seconds along with random people dying from the pizza mechanic. Why is everyone feeling so entitled to get rewards when this was an event to just bs and have fun?
I do apologize to the reply's of my rant's it was a knee [filtered] response and i was being a [filtered]..8(
I am truly happy with all the new content we are getting and that's saying alot for a 4 year old game!!
