    wow im surprised people finally found this to be a problem

    ive seen many people say boomerang was fixed after patch and that it was perfectly fine

    Hey @Bluehydra and @TimesNewRamen, the bug still definitely exists with corruption ring but it happens only if you die at the start of the animation pulsing. It has to be at the right time, it's not easy to get this bug without trying to do so, but it's definitely still there. To fix it you just corruption ring again to 'reset' the animation.

    Here are pictures of this situation...
    In this image, I just died while i started casting corruption ring.

    In this image, i died again...definitely for testing purposes. Totally not because i can't dodge laser. :awesome: (Well I died again while trying to escape the boss's laser after resurrecting with vow, hue). I guess this shows that even if you die and res with vow, and die again and try resing another way it still persists.

    In this one, i was simply standing there watching the circle in a the distance. The sound and the scepter animation follow you where you go.

    This image is to simply show you can do/cast anything while the corruption ring animation is still active.

    And this last one is to show that while casting it again, both rings show. When you finish, however, they both disappear.

    What happens is...
    • You start casting corruption ring
    • Something does fatal damage and kills you a bit before you see the dark circle.
    • When you die, the corruption ring animation is still there.
    • Even if you res, it will still be there.
    • It only disappears after you finish casting corruption ring again.

    You will continue seeing this animation no matter what skill you use, its as if the animation just drifted off, still waiting for it to recieve 'end animation' signal of a sort, which is why you see two circles in the picture. However, this 'bug' existed way before ninja patch was released, and its only a minor issue in my opinion, compared to the mote canceling and animation issues. I'm still really happy with the class, despite it being made super easy this patch...Anyways, these were taken right now in SSHM, first boss laser.

    I don't think the boomerang issue is that noticeable, I just really hate how fast it is...it's going to take time to get used to.

    @Bluehydra the boomerang straight line thing is not a bug, it is simply a consequence of how the game works. You send information to the server about your location around every 0.2 seconds (every high ping player like me needs to know this for cage mechanics). Because the boomerang speed has been upped, it travels in a straight line because the server hasn't received your updated location in-game yet. The only good way to redirect it is to stop moving at the point you want it to travel, since that sends an updated location right away.

    @DivineRemnant I think I get what you mean now. Hmm, I think it's a pretty common bug(?) since I've actually experienced something similar on my Gunner :(

    i have low ping and this happens to me too ( boomerang not catching up). definitely a bug, last patch it worked perfectly

    also, THE FREAKING MOTES DONT EVEN DROP SOMETIMES. on my mystic now lol

    @Rxkt ah it kind of makes sense, since your location gets updated at a limited frequency, so your ping wouldn't help too much, try changing direction all of a sudden using your WASD keys to coax the ball into changing direction.
  • :neutral: I feel like this Boomerang Pulse speed update is a 50/50. Sometimes it can be a good thing, sometimes it's a no-no because of ping to server frequency.

    @Pascalle I think it's more than just that, but bug or not it is definitely a downside of the update since it makes this skill so much more hard to use. You saw how far I moved from it in the gif before it decided to update the return direction, and I would be really happy if it could be fixed, specially since it worked without problems before.

    @DivineRemnant thank you for testing this! It's an old issue so I'm not sure if to include it, will probably add it to the a the bonus round section.

    @Rxkt tho I do agree about the boomerang, but mote cancelling is something that could be done even before patch.
    However since now its a two part animation it becomes confusing, you can press any movement key while charging, but as soon as the charge gauge dissapears, you go into cast mode and get a very short animation lock. If you click on any movement key at that moment, the mote will cancel. This only happens on click, if you were holding down a movement key and didn't let go during the charging/casting animations you will cast the mote and continue running I'm that direction as soon as the mote is cast.

    I really hate the new boomerang change. I don't like that j can't reposition myself to get a heal on someone on the return. It's just too fast for that.

    I definitely preferred the old boomerang.

    Imagine healing with an average 280-310 ms. I always feel like I aged 69 years after a dungeon run with my Mystic :anguished:

  • Summoning Thrall of protection seems to delay, or at least that's what it feels like. After the entire summoning animation ended and about 0.1 sec is when the little guy finally appear. Sometimes your summoning got staggered near the end when you think you've completed the animation, well, the thrall didn't show up...~.~ The old summoning animation was way better, not sure why they changed it.

    I have the same problem. Even though you can move while summoning it, if you move after it stops your character, before the thrall is spawned, then it gets cancelled.

    The same thing happens with motes now, too! I accidentally cancel motes sometimes....it's super frustrating and has lead to deaths.
  • Same problem with motes, they get cancelled too much and just go on cd without dropping. Required me to stand still for full casting which is a big disadvantage compared to pre-patch.. Otherwise about 1/3 of my motes dont drop.
    Also the charging sometimes doesnt work, so they just drop at the place I am standing, even if the button is pressed.
    I play with 160ms ping btw.
