character selection dilemma

Hello everyone !!!
I have a dilemma.
I do not know what to choose. I'm thinking between Berserekr, Archer, Brawler or Warrior.
I prefer damage. But I'm afraid the Archer will be boring, Berserker will be most slow (in pvp for nothing, but for raid very good), and warrior is rather evasive tank (low dps) i think ...
I very like Berserker, but i'm afraid he will for nothing in later game (slow lazy pig :D)

Can you help me and tell me about this characters yours opinion please ? for example why Archer/Berserker/Warr/Braw and his pros and cons ?
Maybe some advice will help me choose whom to choose.

Thanks in advance for the information and opinions :)

each person has different point of view, so my cons might be someone else pros.

But about Zerk I gotta say at late game, Zerk specially with a good fps/ms ping is a very good choice. Both PVP and PVE strong, specially when you mastered the class and could pull of Slaying build, Zerk becomes a beast.

PS: Warrior Tank got Highest DPS as tank in game, and it is not Evasive tank anymore.
  • If it's your first character, warrior may not be a wise choice. This class has a lot of mobility, almost unlimited iframes and high DPS but is also the one requiring the most skill even on basic level and worst learning curve during leveling (getting core DPS skill Scythe at lvl 60). If you are not familiar with universal combat basics (positioning, dodging, doing mechs) you may stay a trap for a long time trying to learn everything at the same time. Warrior indeed has a tanking stance that got massive buffs recently, but it's still way harder that lancer/brawler tanking and I won't recommend warrior as 1st tank. It's quite useful for leveling tho, because you can queue dungeons as tank for faster match.

Archer is a good choice, it is top-tier DPS with pretty simple rotations. Ranged classes tend to have it easier with some boss mechanics so good for learning.

Brawler is easiest tank class to play and recent changes (no GF cd) make it even easier. If you don't like waiting it queues, it will be perfect because instance matching for tanks are almost instant and there are always LFGs looking for tanks. I suggest watching some video guides before starting endgame content - for DPS classes you can just do what others do and learn that way, but you won't encounter another tank so you need to know what to do beforehand.

Zerker - I can't say much from experience because I don't play it. It's not very popular class. DPS potential and difficulty somewhere in between, if you feel that it suits you, try it. Despite having tanking stance, zerker tanking is almost nonexistent and inferior to lancer/brawler/warrior due to lack of party utility.

just use different servers to try different classes and then make a choice which classes you prefer to play. ez.

Gonna correct this real quick, since we don't want to give OP the wrong idea. Warrior is indeed not purely an evasive tank anymore, though they are not the highest DPS tank or even close. Brawler wins in pure dps by a longshot. The few top warrior tanks are pretty similar to the top lancer tanks in damage, while lancer tanks also currently provide more party buffs as well.
I would suggest warrior for you OP, but not as a tank. Learn it dps first, and then you can play around with it as a tank if you decide to get well-geared, because it needs it. (And heed the other forum users advice about complexity.) You could also try brawler as a secondary character. They get most of their skills early on in the leveling process.
  • if u like zerker then just play it. i don't understand the "slow lazy pig"? ur zerker will be as lazy as you are
  • warrior still are hard to master for new players, more for "slow lazy pig" players,
berseker still depends from tons of rng for do damage
archer is only op when you have low ping, brawler is for slow lazy pig player, but in pve you always are tank role, soo if you dont like be tank in pve riperino

If you are leaning towards Berserker, know that most of their attacks are charge attacks. Rather than blast out combo after combo, you hold the skill key and unleash a monstrous hit. You'll be using thunder strike and whirlwind a lot, especially Thunder Strike. later, after you've gotten a couple of upgrades for those two skills, you can move at half speed while charging and Thunder Strike has a glyph that removes that movement penalty. additionally, at the later levels you'll have several movement abilities at your disposal and by that time you should have learned how the Berserker plays enough so that you can maneuver around so they aren't a 'lazy pig'.

Edit- Whirlwind is "Cyclone", sorry about that.
