Massive Ping Spikes

Recently I have been encountering random spikes from 250 ping to 800-ish, internet is working fine, speed is about 800mbps constant and 1-2 ping when tested on speedtest.net, anyone else having similar issue and can someone provide me with a solution or something?

I had lag spike during double drop event. Not last Tuesday, But, on WED, lag spike is reduced and it became normal again for me.

Lag on last weekend was just terrible.
  • I've been getting these pings spikes every night for almost a week now. It only happens in Tera, I can play overwatch all evening with no issues
  • for some reason tera crashed and cant login o.O.. what Is going on

Getting ping spikes too from my usual <80 to suddenly 400-700 for like 20 seconds, then back to normal. Then repeat e.e
Then yesterday it went up to like 10000 something, crashed and couldn't log in.
  • The game is unplayable, I'm thinking about giving a break until this gets fixed because it's not my internet. Yesterday it was better, finally after a week of increased ping along with the massive spikes. But I logged today and the lag is back. I would like a solution or reason, but imo you shouldn't bother. It's like when you play a game just after the release, you know you will be better if you come back a month or so later.

It's not "your internet", exactly, but it's the routing. The problem with routing is that it's not something EME themselves can directly fix (because the servers themselves are not lagging), nor something you can directly fix (because your Internet is otherwise fine). It's a problem for giant in-between world of ISPs and inter-connects. The best you can do is try to find a VPN that will take you on a different route to the server that bypasses the trouble point, and do a traceroute to try to figure out where the trouble point along the path is. But there's no question that it's frustrating, because there's very little you can do, and very little EME can directly do either. Waiting it out may work, or it may not -- it all depends.

@counterpoint I see, thank you for the explanation. But yesterday everything was back to normal, how it has been for the last 2 years...Idk, I really hope I don't need a VPN, the payed ones are too expensive because the conversion from dollars, it's like 60 bucks/month in my country. And the free ones, well. There's always the risk of ban from any game as vpn usually are against the TOS and this risk increases when you're using a public VPN. Anyway, I really hope there's another solution to this :(
