Various Healer Tips
I have quite a bit of healer experience and these are just some things I've noticed a lot of healers don't know they can do. Here are some various tips to make healing easier.
VSH Darkan-
- Priests can use kaias to survive the in-out mechanic, the "prepare to suffer" circle, and 2 ticks of fire as long as they have 160k HP.
- If someone is dead in fire and you can break the crystal on them, pull the targeted person over to that crystal as they might not realize where it is.
- Corruption ring can be used to not get pushed by swipes.
- In NM, divine respite or totem + thrall of life can be used to res someone in the fire.
VSH Dakuryon-
- Priests can use Guardian Sanctuary to lower the damage of the double circles. If you have at least misery + bravery potion you should be able to survive it. You can res someone while you have the circle on you this way, or just use guardian sanctuary if you are uncomfortable with iframing. Mystics can use corruption ring to survive the circle.
- Healers should stay in front of the boss and somewhat far so the boss doesn't turn when he does double circles. You can make him do double circles by res baiting, this gives the dps more time to do damage before the next mechanic.
- When someone is double targeted, a priest can pull the targeted person a couple seconds after he says "Dakuryon targets _____". This will prevent the person from dying and sometimes cancel the mechanic.
- When a mystic is double targetted, they can use corruption ring in order to not die to the mechanic. When priest/reaper/archer/sorc? gets targetted, they can use aggro-canceling skills to cancel the mechanic. The priest one has a very precise timing though.
- Priests should watch for any dps too far from the cage and pull them inside. You can pop kaias, restorative burst, and lock on your immersion right before aoes then release it when someone gets hit. This allows them to get hit twice so you don't have to res them after.
- The orb explosion can be survived with kaias if you have 160k hp.
VSH Lakan-
- With full cooldown reduction and glyphed Kaias, if you spam it off cooldown you should barely have to focus heal people with the debuff.
- The claw range is 23 meters. You have the option of running away, tilting your camera a bit and dodging in between the claws, or getting up close and dodging through the boss or to the side. The iframe timing is when his eyes glow red.
- After every plague/sleep mechanic, you should use your res and cancel it to make him do the claw mechanic. This prevents him from doing the "you cannot defend against me" lasers and also allows you to freely res for 1 min +
-The begone mechanic, plague/sleep ring, and yellow donuts can all be survived with kaias if you have 160k hp.
VHH First boss
- You should have your cleanse ready when you see the boss eyes glow. Cleanse the tank if they need it.
- If youre a mystic, you can thrall of life or corruption ring to avoid the big stun mechanic.
- When the boss does the jump back move, have your pull ready to pull anyone who's stunned as it is not cleansable. In NM, it is cleansable.
VHH Last boss
- If one of the plagues are missed, you can kaias or corruption ring to survive the mechanic.
DW First boss
- Always have your cleanse ready when the boss gets a green aura around him. If you cleanse people fast enough, he will not do the push attack.
HH P1
-On orange dragon, there's a trick I use to time my iframe for the big aoe. I backstep out of the hakan then wait 1 second after my backstep cooldown expires and iframe. Probably wont work for everyone since cooldowns are different. You can also heal up and use corruption ring/kaias to facetank it.
-On yellow dragon, look at the little pulse on the yellow circle. Iframe towards him when its about 3/4 of the way to the edge then plague asap.
-All of the red donut aoes aren't actually 1 shots(Except the pattern one on white dragon). They do 100% of your hp but wont kill you with damage absorbtion skills like kaias. This is especially useful on red dragon as it will save dps who can't get out of the aoe or just allow them to have more dps time.
HH P3
-Bombing does 100% of your hp, but can be survived with damage absorbtion skills. If its off CD use your kaias when he does swipe or debuff to avoid dying from someone bombing you. This has actually saved me from wiping because someone getting swiped will only kill a couple people rather than half the raid. Warding totem would also work.
-Use savage, bitter, pounding crystals to dps the orbs. Carving is not consistent and pounding is not as good as savage/bitter. Take off some uninportant glyphs and put them into things like vortex damage/metamorphic damage. You can do like half as much as an actual dps this way since the crit resist on the orbs is so low.
-If you see someone is dead, turn your camera around and look for them as they might've died in middle/a corner.
Other tips
- Using mana pots, nostrum, root beer etc while ressing or gracing will make it not cancel-able. This is bad if the boss decides to target you while you're resing, so be careful.
- If the tank is down and you have aggro, pop divine respite to get them up. You can survive a couple hits from the boss this way.
- If the boss is targetting you with a move that wont kill you and you have to res someone, always choose ressing them rather than dodging it. This is because the boss might do more mechanics after that won't allow you to res for a while.
