Cosmetics being taken out of the game.

I don't play much but I come back now and then with the intention of buying a few outfits that I like.

I check the wardrobe thing, see a few outfits I like and see...I can't even buy them? Enmasse quit stopping me giving you money ffs.

Summer wrap, unable to buy why?

All games have seasonal cosmetics, and got exclusive costumes for winter, summer, Halloween, Spring. Nothing wrong or new there, you can get them next summer if you missed.

Also old items also will become legacy items, they appear here and there.

There is nothing wrong with that, unless we gonna talk about lack of quality and quantity and other stuff.
  • Seasonal cosmetics, that is why.
All summer/halloween/xmas cosmetics are only available in season and you gotta wait til next time they are available for sale to get them if you missed them. It has always been that way.

Sell emp, buy them with gold
  • I would understand if they were obtainable ingame during that time, but if they are cash shop items just let people buy them when they want them..

For lootbox stuff, that possibly even equates to less than you would have paid in lootboxes by selling EMP. At 1:40 you would only need 3K EMP to have 20K gold left after buying a 100K item so around the price of 2 basic outfits, and likely less than the equivalent of lootboxes you would require, and by the names you mention I think that's the case.

Don't waste your emp on gold, just farm gold from quests, daylies, ect. and if you can't afford the outrageous prices for it, move on to something else more obtainable.

*Edit/Add- look at the torpedo and the carnivalie...I think its called. It's in the rare summer and fast summer boxes. If you hoover over it, it gives you the name of what it converts to, race and gender wise, anyway those are very nice quality ones with jewelry and belly piercing...and much more affordable

I've heard from EU players that they can just buy costumes year round. If that's true, I wish we had a similar system. There's really no reason to limit your customers' buying freedom. You can say "it creates scarcity which drives demand," but looking at this case in particular all they did was lose themselves a sale.
  • I don't think eme understands the concept of making money

It's the concept (as shown elsewhere in retail) of meeting monthly sales metrics/quotas by creating pent-up demand. They lose a few sales throughout the year, but can artificially create big spikes during holidays. I can see why people don't like it... but it's a proven retail strategy.

The thing with that is retail actually have physical items to place on shelves and these items can be out of stock. Time consuming of reodering, having the items made and shipped and yada yada. But this virtual stuffs...Lol, can be generate at the tip of the finger infinitely with endless display space.
  • Btw, idk if this will make you feel better or not, but realistically speaking, even if those costumes were still on the store, and you think is outrageous they are over 100k to buy off the broker. I don't think you would have been able to obtain them anyways.

Summer wrap and beachwrap are both lootbox costumes. So the only thing you could have purchased is their lootboxes for a chance of getting them, but a way higher chance of never getting them and wasting your emp. People really raged with this specific lootbox because their rates seemed to be way more garbage than other lootboxes. Specially for the summer wrap, you'd see 1 pop ever 10/15 of the other one (or more, way more at times).

Being able to provide the product continually because it is virtual in nature doesn't mean it is the best strategy. If EME can make more money through manipulating availability rather then keeping it constant year round they will do so.
  • it sounds like bad business but it's not. limited availability increases the demand and hype for the product.
costumes available year round eventually stop making sales after the initial "new item" hype anyway
clearly you weren't there to see the massive hype over the summer wraps.
