Question about Male Brawler

Will be we able to change our current brawlers to male, or will we have to make a new one? I understand Elin gunner is a different race, but its just the different gender.

Name him exactly like that! Or Rhodos.Compact.Version tho I don't know if this fits

Back on topic: very likely the same deal as with Elins. Would be really cool if a CM/GM came to answer the question like they did in the Elin Gunner topic, but my bet is exactly the same, for the exact same reasons: The support would be flooded with gender change on costumes requests, and there's a possibility that the changer itself is hard coded to only work with the original classes, or at least locked out of a Brawler usage, needing to re-code that tiny portion of the changer to allow Brawlers to use that voucher as well. Which again, would require BHS to care.

I can understand the reasoning for not allowing the gunners to race change is because the money from selling elin costumes is going to far outweigh the money the race changers would make.

But for human male brawler that argument doesn't really hold. Human males aren't really costume sellers. They'd make more money allowing gender changes. So honestly it could go either way. I wouldn't get my hopes up though.
  • I was a little excited about male brawlers. I was going to finally spend gold on something other than elite. Then I remembered that this is BHS and gender changers probably wont work for it.

we dont know, but since than they are both human i think it is possible with gender voucher :)

They'd still get tons of tickets asking to swap costumes from female to male, though, and I think that's the thing they want to avoid.

BHS didn't provide a way to swap cosmetics automatically, it's unlikely they'll burden publishers even with Brawler. I also imagine setting it so race/gender changers worked for Gunner/Brawler required BHS to do something too. It would all around be a resource sink for possibly no gains, male Brawler is already possibly that as it is.

i don't think that would be much of an issue right now, at least not for NA.

As someone who has race changed well over 100 times through the years, I recall there being times when it'd take over a month to get my costumes fixed. As of recent they've exchanged my stuff in mere hours, and I have a lot of costumes. I think they can handle it at the moment.

Plus, It's not as though every brawler is going to swap genders. I'd be surprised if even half of them do it. Hell, if even a quarter of them do it I'd still be surprised.

As you said yourself, you do this costume changing every now and then when you need. And you aren't considering a case where people would do this en-masse (Get it? Get it?? See what I did there?). One thing is you changing races/genders on some normal time, not during patch peak and such, another thing is literally clogging support with tickets. It may be that there's few people that would bother support with this in percentages, but think of answering 100 costume change tickets with a team overloaded with new patch bugs (cause we know 100% sure, that there will be tons of new bugs on new patch). Now think of it taking quite a while and the pissed players filling MORE tickets with complains that it's taking long...

And then, you would be allowing Brawlers to swap around all cool and dandy but Elins not, those are locked out of the fun and just level them and have fun leveling. This type of double standards is yet another thing they'll want to avoid.

I was considering all scenarios, because as I've said, I've done it plenty of times before. Right after new patches, right in the middle of a 50% off account services sale, etc. Also, the people doing costume exchanges are not typically the same people helping with bugs (at least not now, in the past they used to be).

Plus, let's not pretend they have nothing to gain from offering the service. Changers wouldn't sell as often if they didn't. I certainly wouldn't have bought any.

As for double standards... lmao. Everything in this game has always been biased to elins. At the end of the day it's business.

It's always going to be about business. Elin gunners don't get race change because all the new elin gunners will generate costume sales, gotta look cute while gunning down mobs you know? With male costumes severely lacking, if they determine that more money would be made by letting people buy gender swaps, then they will do that, only if that potential money gain is worth any work required to facilitate the swap.

*If the gender changed is coded to work with Brawlers. If it was not altered yet in code by time of release, it won't work no matter if Enmasse wants or not.

Remember, we're talking about BHS' code here. And you know what that means...
