Gold Tips?
Can anyone give tips on how to get lots of gold? I have a level 40 Valkyrie and a 58 Reaper and am relatively new to the game.

For low level characters are really hard to make lots of gold from scratch and even more if you are not willingly to use real money to achieve that.
Your best bet would be to level up fast those 2 characters up to level 65 and start running dungeons. Each low tier end game dungeon (such as CW) gives you 200g as a reward and some drops that can be sold for a low amount to get extra gold.
You can try to complete the dougal red quest missions, Record of Aranea, ACE dungeons and Celestial Arena once you get them up to level 65 and sell the drops you get from them.
The rewards from those mission should allow you to get and enchant full Guile till +9 without any problem and even if you are lucky, you can get your weapon and gloves masterworked and +12. That will allow you to run mid tier dungeons and get better drops to make a little more of profit.
What costume do you want and wich server you are?

Edit: I think that as a fresh level 65 character the max gold you will achieve in a week could be around 14k by the things I told. That can be a little bit more or less considering the hours you can really play the game. If you are lucky you can get some ses and ominious ores as drops and sell them to other players to make the gold you need. I think lucky would mean to get about 6k more gold from those drops per week but you would need to at least run 8 times low tier end-dungeons per day.6 -

Hmmm. Trade brokering requires experience, and with the new patch coming up, prices could go any which way...
With no level 65 characters, you can't spam daily vanguards for gold...
I think your best bet is to complete the storyline on your reaper as quickly as you can and start doing the level 65 VanGuard quests. You can get 1600 gold a day from the lowest level dungeons plus a few things to sell. You can also do BAMs on Isle of Dawn instead of dungeons if you are patient and know how to fight with your class. Gives a little variety. You get 8 a day at max level.
The story quests themselves give a fair amount of gold for level 60-65. About 4000 all told for non-Elite, I believe.
There will be better answers later, I just wanted you to get some sort of answer right away. I am not an expert on making gold. I do all right, but I am not what passes for wealthy in this game.

Imo.....Don't waste your emp aka money to get gold, big mistake and you'll end up regreting it and it only encourages or helps those ppl who want to sell stuff for too much gold.
You need to research how to get the costume you want. Many of them you get thru events or even fashion coupons some you can just buy in the Shop.
I'd do what ElinUsagi suggested and do the quests and collect golf yourself5 -

I know you said you aren't going to buy gold with real money. But there is no other way. You could just wait until you are rich enough to buy that item on the broker when it is available again.

Jokes aside, you can probably farm Island of Dawn at very poor levels. Once you get decent enough money, buy/resell EMP items. Look at broker for items going for higher price than EMP conversion rate. Buy EMP items with gold from players selling EMP, then re-list the items on the broker. You need to be elite and patient for this money making process, but its ez money and less effort. You can also run end-game dungeons/raids for more money on the side while your EMP items sell.

Thaaat didn't work really well as level 60 lol, and considering I only have a week and am not experienced with Trade Broker, I wouldn't go with that straight away
Yeah, I've tried doing the quests today and got a decent amount of gold, not nearly what I need though, and leveling through quests just to use other level 65 gold-farming methods takes forever...
Tried queueing for Battlegrounds for almost half an hour and nothing, I'm pretty unlucky, I guess...
