  • I agree with you :+1: IoD tokens and vanguard points should stay like that. It isn't too much. We still have to farm to buy sth and at the end of the day grinding and doing instances we can buy 1-2 MWA boxes (that's not too much, becouse enchanting is really hard right now). I am a casual player, so I know how difficult is for me to eaven do 2-3 instances in one day if I have busy week. That means after 2-3 dayes I can buy single one MWA box. If that changet I would farm for whole week to get 16 MWA...

Bams are the same... Please remeber that we have only 8 vanguard quests per day! If I farm bams all day I won't have much feedstock but I could buy sth different.

In my opinion gold problems are really easy to fix. Just put one feedstock-alkachest merchant :)

Keeping the doubled gold will only lead to more problems, on CH EMP is already selling for 1:40 as opposed to the 1:15 it was about half a year ago, keeping the doubled feedstock and credits on the other hand, there's no problem that pops in my head over the future.

If the double gold stays here, the EMP will go as high as 1:90 within a couple of months, maybe even past that.

Who said there was no price change with the current double vanguard event ?
On MT before ssnm patch wma was around 35g on average, and raised to 40g at the first week (due to obvious reason). However, they have been sitting at 50g each for the last 2 weeks (3 weeks after double vanguard was introduced). While there were some high and low during the duration due to enchanting even, doubling gold reward DID affect the economy, just not as huge as ghili used to be (2.4k per 15m, compare to 30-40m currently).

However neither giving more or less gold would be a long term solution. We need a gold sink. Instead of giving people tons of reward to address the shortage, EME can just add enchanting supply into the game merchant, which would both solve the shortage issue and take excessive gold out of the system. They always choose to not do that however, because "we will give you extra reward" sounds much more praise worthy than "we will address multiple issues by letting you pay for it".
  • How about we just add an option to use gold in awakening/enchanting to raise the odds by a small %, say 100k for 10%, and it can't go any higher than that.

You are rich? Good. You wanna dump money to +15 your [filtered]? Come this way. Get [filtered] by a gold sink.

    Problem solved.

It really hurt my eyes to read you guys' <+15 Awakened: Wall of Text> btw.
  • What a good read i must add. Lots of good points, hope GM read this thread.

But for whatever reason, people seem to think easier access to gold is what's tearing this economy up when it's neither causing the problem nor exacerbating it. Daily quests were a thing for three gear patches with free gold; that didn't do anything to hurt the game.

I remember the gold inflation from UTI/Jax dailies when they were introduced. All the gold piled up and by the time the Wonderholm patch came around, Tera's economy was the most inflated it had ever been. MWA was 120g each, Extensive alk: 130g, SES: 900g, CCB: 700g, and MES: 300g (MES only stayed low comparatively due to Nexus Agnitor credit farming). Nerfing the gold from those dailies was a good thing, but they only repeated their mistake with Ghillieglade gold drops later. If it weren't for EME intervening with supply, everything would inflate a lot higher.

What makes this scenario so different in an MMO is that fact that this is still a game, not something someone has to do. If there's no realistic means of farming, people will get bored and they will quit when they find they're not having fun any longer. There's nothing keeping them farming dailies in the same way one is forced to work to make a living.

    ^This.

I agree with people wanting to keep the double vanguard rewards, all of them, gold included.
    This is a game.
After spending literally all of my feedstock on +15ing my main's gear recently, I feel utterly broke.
My gold savings from TAR and GG are almost gone, the feedstock prices are through the roof, so I refuse to buy any. That said, I've been farming IoD for feedstock and gold on most of my 65s. I did all 8 quests on 4-6 characters almost every day, and with the double vanguard rewards I started hoping that I could get some funds to be able to gear my alts, but because having to do this, to be able to keep up with others and their gear, every day, made the game lose the point of the game. I barely have/had time to actually play. I have to choose between having fun with my friends and gearing up, which is ridiculous. I got to a point where I didn't want to do anything at all, not even running a dungeon with my friends when they asked me, I just wanted to talk to them and mess around in HW, because that's fun, not nolifing on IoD. And if the gold will be cut by half again, it'll feel even more of a drag, making more harm than good. Losing even the small sense of getting rewarded for your work.
Sorry for the rant tho, had to get that ouf of my system lol.

EME knows we need feedstock, they are working on it.

Gold is a part of the fun too though. Some people are fine with having op gear and not spending on anything but that, but most of the players, casuals included want costumes and fancy mounts, possibly without having to grind IoD all day long, mindlessly.
Obviously players who have millions in the bank don't care about the vanguard gold rewards, but it means a world to people who only have a few hundred thousand or less.
Please consider making the double gold rewards permanent as well. :l

What i know, a person spending is another person income. The increase of gold will drive the economy.
As players have more gold, they are more willing to spend, which mean the average price of brokerage item will increase along the way.
Eventually, the gold a person hoarding will lose its value. Example, with 70G you can only get 1 MWA instead of 2.

Good thing is, we have reliable Producers & QA who watch over us and balance the game consistently. I will not worry that much.

Looked like you seriously have no idea why you're in that state. Inflation is exactly what forced you to grind everyday to keep up with it.

For example if on day 1 you make 10k gold and mwa is at 50g each, on day 2 you make 20k and mwa is at 100g each, on day 3 you make 30k..... Logically you should be able to buy 200 wma a day, but if for some reason you couldn't/decided to save the money from day 1, you can only buy 100 mwa the next day, and if you missed 2 days then your saving for that whole 2 days can only buy 100 mwa on the 3rd day. If everyone can only make 10k a day everyday (because there're no "double gold event"), mwa would stay at 50g and you can buy them whenever you want without losing anything, and you can take breaks whenever you want without fear of unable to buy anything after coming back from a long break.
