How about Target dummys?

As the title clearly suggests, me and many other people came up with the, most likely not very original idea of Target Dummy's !
Just a plain old Immortal BUT attackable NPC inside Velika/Highwatch that cannot attack/move or die of course.
It would generally help old and new players figure out some nifty new rotations and other fancy stuff.

Think this is a good idea? Please feel free to slap some constructive feedback in my face! <3

Well, there is already a mob like this in the Golden Labyrinth dungeon. It has a really high defense, you can combo on him for quite a while. Apart from that, there are training dummies in HW. However, sadly they don't receive any damage whatsoever.

I've always thought something like this was a good idea.

And if there might be the problem of too many people wanting to use the dummies, then maybe a teleporter to a solo-type instance place? There would just be an attack dummy in the center (or maybe a fake player that can get KD'd so that combos can be tested).

EDIT: I used to play Elsword Online which had a "training room" where you would go and could practice damage or combos on any type of monster in the game. You could hit a button to reset our HP and MP to full and could set if you wanted to use an actual monster or a dummy that would take damage but not move.

I've always wanted something like this since whenever I want to test combos for pvp, I need to do it with random people in Velika Outskirts.

Where you go to get berserk tanking skills, there's a set a attack-able, non-moving, non-damaging NPCs.

But, you cannot damage these NPC's,plus they knock you down

    Can't have it all.
People been complaining to BHS about making the game not run below 30 fps with their OC'd i7 and their $600 or more GPU.

But the whole point of my suggestion is to be able to test on these target dummys
Also the point of this topic is not to discuss game optimization and instead discuss about how useful/enjoyable target dummys would be,aswell has if Enmasse would even able to implement them

Spend a week or two on Island of Dawn (knockdown island), master the art of BAM hunt and your playing class.
It is harder than target dummy, but more efficient and rewarding for new player.

However I like testing my dmg on a still target dummy. Maybe let us set the status on the dummy, make it Human type or Monster type, adjust the crit resist/def /HP/enrage/stun resist status etc etc. Then we can switch around our gear until we get the result we like.

What about the crystal in GG?

The crystal in Ghilieglade would be a good idea, just it would need to have a CRAZY amount of hp,since the normal one just dies way too quickly,a very good idea though!

  • +1. Really need this.
  • There are training dummies in Stepstone Isle, next to the Tactic and Magic Instructors in the big village square. They tell you damage dealt while just standing there and respawning infinitely. Perhaps you may not like the infinite respawn part though.

That would certainly disrupt the testing/practicing part, but if Enmasse could just change their healthpoor to something next to infinite,it would definitly work out nicely!

I am not sure a target dummy would really even show anything in a game like this. Sure you could get rotation practice, but how often are you standing still fighting an immobile monster in this game? To me the best target dummies in the game are the lower/mid tier IoD Bams, since they actually move, but basically cannot kill you. You can practice all you want on them without any fear.
