If the "casuals" can't find a way to adapt to this system, I'm going to guess they weren't exactly thriving last patch either. Most people also don't pay anything for this game. You're not entitled to too much if you're not paying the cost. I'd say En Masse is very generous in how well they allow a free player to do.

Its a bit too late in a dying game to make players require more attention in it.

I'm only speaking for myself here, but I beg to differ. I actually have a reason to stop staring at my toons in various states of undress play the game again. It also helps that one of favorite dungeons is back, so... yeah.

its not just the casuals that feel entitled to stuff either. if the servers go down for 5 minutes people are screaming compensation. also, not everyone that plays tera has the luxury of being able to play 10 or more hours a day everyday. some of us do have a life outside of tera. I for one have put in my fair share of time and money into tera over the past 4 years, and this past year have joined the ranks of the casuals due to real life and the state of the game, so I never once felt entitled to anything. I take it for what it is, a game.
  • I think, on the whole, it's way too early to start coming to conclusions about the overall impact of these changes. People need time to understand the new reward structures and figure out the optimal ways to spend their time, and it will not be the same as what was optimal or encouraged before. Right now, also, there's a big impact during the transition period (as people convert their old mats) which also throws everything out of whack.

I would at least say to wait a month to see what it's like once the dust settles. I'm sure that EME will eventually run events (hopefully balanced events...) that help to address perceived weaknesses or gaps.

Your reason to play the game is based on the difficulty of getting gear?

    Oh boy.

Idk about you i play game for content.. You know? Something tera is very lacking ( but im still addicted ).

Gear progression doesnt make me play a game.

You do know what they say about assuming, right?

But I'll humor you. I play based on whether there's anything to do, and this new gear system gives me something to do. I have a reason to collect again; I have a reason to craft again; I have a reason to run dungeons again; I have a reason to experiment again; and more over, I'm actually having some [filtered] FUN again.

So if you don't have any other random assumptions to make about me and my reasons for playing a game, I'm gonna go continue being awesome. Good day, sir/madam, and may the Force be with you.

"Gear progression doesn't make me play a game"
THIS. This is very true. Right here. This line right here.

This is a nice change, but don't think this patch is amazing or anything tbh.
The drops on high tier dungeons are as [filtered] as ever while low tier dungeons explode with mats.
Emeralds and Diamonds are there but only a small chance to get them same as that frostmetal box it seems.

you know how eme could have balanced the economy reset by doing a 3x gold event on VG dailies i think thats the reason gameforge gave away +14 ambush so people could do high tier iod and content with out fuking up new people and the current people

    Ugh this formating
Anyway, I definitely agree with everything you've said however, the point stands that playing 3+ characters is definitely hard this patch as you have to grind, grind, grind to get even 439 ilvl gear. While I do enjoy the process once, or twice, it becomes a bit straining later on as I don't want to get stuck doing low tier dungeons forever. For the last two days I've been trying to push my alt to 439 so I could do high tier iod without wasting too many tokens as I'm saving those for my main and boy.. it's a bit exhausting. Takes a lot of time to do things you could do in half guile/half misery last patch.
And you know what's the funniest thing? SCN (a joke), LKH, RK9, are all completely doable with twistshard! They don't even hit that hard (rk9 being the exception, didn't try trh yet) and scn in particular left me in tears with how nerfed and easy it was.
I think this particularly annoying problem could be easily solved by just lowering the ilvl to 434/435 imo.
Everything else is pretty good this patch, I'm pretty happy

Did you know...there's a vg quest for PoP at ilvl 439? The ball has officially been dropped and nobody can even find it.
