Problems Since Arsenal Patch (61):

Problems since Arsenal Patch (61):

1. Old Jewelry set bonus still applies: The +4% attack speed 3-of-set bonus from older jewelry sets was thought to be removed and accounted for in the new patch, with the integration of attack speed rolls into the new jewelry and additional stat improvements. However, the new earrings are only that offers a new 2% AS roll each. Some players are abusing this old set bonus with the new earrings to gain 2%+2%=4% and 6%+4% from the necklace and old set bonus for a total of 14% jewelry attack speed bonus instead of the usual 10%.

The damage has been done here, removing the old set bonuses may be the solution, or simply rolling the new rings for also 2% AS each will benefit players in that they can gain XP and further upgrade those rings instead of manipulating older jewelry that cannot be improved.

2. There is currently no way without legacy tokens for anyone to receive a Superior Cleansing Brooch (3Minute CD) so newer healers that join TERA are at a disadvantage learning new mechanics and debuffs that risk the lives of the entire party. Add it to the new token/emblem shop.

3. The current vanguard cap per day is 16, although the vanguard menu stops recording vanguards after the daily bonus for 8. Having a tracker to tell you x/16 runs would be helpful to improve the Quality of Life for all players. In addition, the Elite Status Perks are not updated, still telling players they should expect Valkyon Responses when they instance match and don't specify the 16 Vanguard daily quests per day, causing confusion.

4. The classes in Tera are wildly unbalanced as of yet, with the crit rate of warrior's scythe and valkyrie's shining crescent still trumping almost all other classes for extremely high and sustained damage. Tanks not prepared for the extra jewelry attack speed bonus and power stats on the DPS characters in their party will quickly lose aggro and position in the fight, leading to more issues.

With the huge HP buff on bosses in this most recent patch, the increase in damage is not a problem, but the even higher skillcap for tanks is causing them to be few and far between. Either a 5-second lock-aggro shout for tanks in dungeons or a higher max aggro pool (longer to build aggro but harder to steal the whole pool at once) could help mitigate this surge of burst damage from DPS classes.

    1. Yes, the new jewelry did take all the set bonuses from old gear and put it into the base stats of the gear pieces. It will probably be solved next gear patch.

    2. I agree.

    3. I also agree.

    4. Aggro isn't really been a problem unless the tank is really undergeared or isn't aggressive enough. Tank shouts are already 5s guaranteed aggro. Every DPS needs to git gud, why not tanks too? Every class's burn at the start of a fight hits extremely hard. It's not specific to Valks or Warriors. Shining Crescent also has a 10s effective cooldown during Ragnarok, and 30s outside of Ragnarok. A tank should be fine unless they don't know how to play the class well.

1.) LMAO that you think using gear as intended is "abusing the game." Holy jesus. Get a grip. Players used to use Hyderad jewelry on healers, even though it was... 7 patches old? Some also used Hyderad/Lifetock because it provided more healing than the current crit only equipment. It's not abusing the game to use old equipment... lol... I guess it's "Abusing the game" to still use my Ambush belt/weapon on one of my alts because I haven't gotten around to farming another t4 etching yet? I get a power bonus... oh the humanity.

2.) Multiple threads have been created about this. Good job on creating another one.

4.) You think "abusing 4% attack speed on old gear" is hurting tanks? You must not play a tank. My misery+12 turned Twistshard+0 brawler alt can tank SC and RK and hold aggro. She just can't get any vanguards. If you are losing aggro, wear a threatening crystal, and start learning how to do more damage by playing your class better. In either case, EME can't change the code regarding aggro, so this complaint will fall on deaf ears.

For point 4. I have experienced on my brawler that the aggro shout does NOT last for 5 seconds (at least at the start of fights when I am focused on positioning) and a scythe/shining crescent/large crit will still steal aggro. It seems to work sometimes and others not so much, it's mainly the first 5-10 seconds of the fight when I want to position optimally for DPS and I'm having problems (because I'm positioning, not being aggressive in those scenarios obviously).

Then I would venture you need to practice tanking more. As I said, EME cannot change the code. Not code involving aggro, not code involving bgs, not anywhere. They can mess with the toolkit BHS has provided. But they can't give you an ability.

Wear a threatening crystal and tell your dps to let you move the boss, until you learn how to tank better.

Simply stating a problem without offering at least an idea of a solution to the BHS team leaves it open-ended for them to fix it(or not fix it since they don't have the power) which might just make the problem worse. My goal is improvement and help for the community whereas your goal is obviously belittlement and mockery. Move along to another rant forum.

You wear jewelry and you complete vanguards.
  • not seeing how 1 is "abuse" sry
  • I honestly don't see this as abuse using the old jewelry to get the extra 4 percent attack speed. If we still have our materials from previous patches, it's our right to maximize ourselves.

I main lancer for 2 years and well this is a tank thing that most people won't realize that what a difference an extra +4 speed makes. Back in the old days I used to have full attack speed build but then getting used to a slower speed for the past year was different. It's just nice to have that extra speed back a bit you know. I do feel for the new people that they have no way of acquiring the old jewelry for the speed and other bonuses but don't say that us veteran players are abusing it. It's the way it was rolled to us in this patch.

If I was a new player coming in just now, I would understand oh okay well too bad I don't have the old tokens from before since I just started but I would put blame on bhs for that. Seeing other players in game who use the old jewelry with the new jewelry does not automatically mean they are abusing it. It's like your judging a book by its cover without understanding.

I do support that they should've put an alternate method of acquiring the old jewelry so everyone can have a chance to benefit from the extra speed and other stats if they wanted to.

It's abuse cause new players can't get it obv, just like new healers aren't able to get a superior cleansing brooch

 But ... Hyderads and starfall gloves were from old patches and people were still using them... Do you consider that abuse? It's not their fault that people happened to play the game before others lol. Some people just refuse to upgrade, i dont see the harm in that. To call it abuse is a bit dumb imho. We were given Spreadsheets filled with info (ON FORUMS TOO) that showed us that set bonus's were staying.

Also idk about the 4% thing making you lose aggro... I know many tanks who have 3piece for attack speed and they still hold aggro just fine.

I think calling it abuse obviously got some triggers going.

Btw. Abuse: use (something) to bad effect or for a bad purpose; misuse.

The bad effect here is that not everyone can benefit, min-max, and try everything build they want to, they are excluded. Marginal heal benefits from starfall gloves, hyderad, lifetock/rivertrill have always been more of a visual appeal than anything practical for any healer with half a brain. I have dozens of friends coming back to Tera with 1year+ breaks. The healers returning are left out of their superior cleansing brooches, and when I tell the DPS about the new unobtainable 4% attackspeed set bonus, particularly warrior, lancer, sorc, valkyrie, reaper, slayer are affected and it can be a bit disheartening for them, being min-maxing players themselves.

Mostly, it's just pretty lame, especially when EME gives pages and pages of info about the new patch ahead of time that includes, hypocritically:

"-Easier for new players to progress
    -No more set bonuses
    -Linear Progression"

I didn't mean to call players using this "Abusing the game" but instead that there are permanently different tiers of players based on when they started, how much they grinded before, and if they saved their now discontinued items (that they didn't know would disappear).

I don't have any of this jewellery, but that's a real stretch to call it a bad effect (abuse) just because they are utilizing correctly and fully what they have been able to obtain with out doing any thing against the game to do so
Just because some arnt/wont be able to obtain this equipment shouldn't mean others need to be penalised after putting in the effort to quite and research that it be better to keep than change

Tell that to the healers that did weeks of Bastion daily quests for Hyderad settings that were nerfed, and hurricane weapons for simply healing and speeding up dungeons. Both were completely removed and had less impact than this. They were, and still are completely obtainable, just removed for their effect.
