Both regions have officially confirmed that they can race change existing gunner characters to Elin gunner.

It is so pointless to force people to go through the class leveling and learning process again if we already have one. And for those who don't have one, they will need to level up one anyway. Why we can't play our original character if we just simply want a different supported race?

Many people have already put in their time and effort on their gunners. Diamond/Champion laurel means dedication. And obtain valuable/rare gears and items such as the Marrow brooch, or things new characters will never get again, like Smolder mount. We will not give up on our old character. The purpose of making Elin gunner is to have more people to enjoy the game but you are totally not encouraging a portion of the old players to try it and enjoy by restricting the race change function.

On another side, if race change is allowed, I can totally see tons of people spend money to buy race change vouchers, myself included.

    I agree, if EU and KTera got it, we must get it too, it will be in the patch.

    I would instantly buy a race change voucher for my Gunner if EME allowed race changing for Elin Gunners.

    The problem, as others have mentioned before, is that in the NA region (and only this region) they do costume changes as a manual service when you race change. Other regions are glad to let you race change so you can buy all new costumes for your character. But if EME did this, even though it would bring in money, it would also bog down their support resources considerably at an already-busy time. So if they were going to allow this, they'd have to think through the logistics so it won't be a big burden on their staff. The profit from the race change voucher can easily be eaten up by the time to perform this manual work.

    (What they need is a script to automatically do the conversions; they alluded to the fact they were working on something, but probably not done yet.)

    I didn't get what you mean about "Other regions are glad to let you race change so you can buy all new costumes for your character", do you mean those servers if you use a race change voucher you won't be able to use your costumes but have to buy them again instead?

    That's basically right -- when you buy a race change in other regions, your old soulbound race-specific (and/or gender-specific, if applicable) costumes will not work anymore, unless at some time in the future you decide to race change back to your original race. NA is the only region that manually swaps the costumes when you ask.

    with EME i think this is a no no for race change to elin gunner :3 race change = 2495 emp, but if players make new one. Tera will be alive again + new costumes + RNG Dragon/Phoenix box ez monees

    I can also see this: the race change will be available once the hype dies down. Same with male brawler. I bet my Elin's tail that they'll also not allow gender changes for male brawlers, for the exact same thing Counterpoint mentioned.

    TL;DR of Counterpoint's post: Of course they allow it, they have no extra work with it, contrary to EME.

    Also correct me if I'm wrong: but meanwhile J-TERA allowed the race change, K-TERA did NOT allow it, and even kept the temporary dumb thing up.

    So yes, we're still winning over K-TERA, and in part against J-TERA and EU-TERA as well, since we can do costume re-binding on support.

    I can understand the logic and the amount of workload EME will have if they enable race change for Elin gunner.
    I suggest that for every gunner race change, EME does not provide rebinding of costume services. We will buy more costumes, at least I will.

    I'd personally rather have race changes allowed and costume rebinding at a very slow or delayed period after, than no race changes at all. My gunner has some items I cannot get anymore, Smolder, the low level alliance mask, and maybe a few others I think. I doubt they would move that to the new Elin gunner, while a race change would allow my character to keep that, achievements, friendship points, titles, the list goes on.

    I would totally accept to being able to race change but unable to convert old costumes to new race costume just like how other regions are doing.
