Been playing after returning the last few days and this is the first it has happened since, so at least it isnt too common of an issue :D also not during peak hours
  • I may be wrong but considering that EME is a publisher/ distributor, they probably engaged a 3rd party hosting service provider to handle the servers for them.

Every hosting service provider provides performance guarantees and have checks in place to ensure such issues don't happen.
They should even provide optimisation recommendations to prevent future uptime/ bandwidth issues.

Can EME maybe look into an SLA or what the current agreement is? @Spacecats @seandynamite

There may be added cost but i'm sure downtime actually affects the revenue more.

the amount of people online isnt the problem, this game is not as populated as in the past. Theres some funny loops happening somewhere.

That is a brilliant observation. It's not like they advertise that fact on this very site or anything.
Our servers are located in a Savvis datacenter in Chicago. This datacenter was selected for its world-class infrastructure and facilities that are designed to avoid single points of failure that could lead to outages.

Patronizing attitude aside, what this actually points out then is that this isn't EME's fault at all, but the fault of their server database management company contracted out to maintain the physical server Tera is on. Given that description of their 'world class' infrastructure, etc, I would bet money someone from EME was on the horn giving them the what-for about getting the server back online, and I bet it did cost that Savvis company a bit of money on their SLA they probably have with EME to keep the server online.
