For playing the broker it is indeed the best way to make gold but it is not as straight forward and there's no real guide to it. It takes skill, patience, coordination, and like most investments, it does take gold to begin with usually. Kamizuma has mastered the broker on Tera with an empire on all servers but he is not the only person I've encountered that has played broker well. Some tips I've noticed when I attempted to do broker:
1. Watch for new patches/new updates and events: People who play the broker will watch for new updates to take advantage of prices. When this patch hit, people who were wealthy enough to afford designs and prepared enough were making like 1k off each plate on MT iirc at start of patch. Now the prices dropped considerably but with any new patch there's materials that will IMMEDIATELY be in demand since tryhard players want to advance as fast as possible.
In addition, events like this Kyra's event are the perfect time as well and many players will buy the influx of costumes that are being sold super low (lower than before, mind you) and stock up on them to sell in the future at higher prices. It is a game of patience but also when you've come to hold a mast fortune of gold this is like your empire. If you watch Kamizuma's streams, he has multiple characters dedicated to costumes, bank tabs full of smart boxes.
2. It is important that small items do add up together: Many players, like myself, will dismiss items that are sold cheaper on the broker. There's always someone who undercuts people to get quick gold. Watching price drops, looking at items that have an abnormally low price point than what their used to be sold at is a good indication of it. Remember that chump change adds up. I remember during VSHM patch Lakan boxes were 300 each at one time iirc and one player took advantage of the boxes being sold at ~100-150 each, selling them later at 300 each. Was able to make like 30k just on that alone.
3. I think the mistake most people make is that they think it's simpler than it actually is. The broker is almost like stock exchange in real life. It can be quite profitable, but also very risky. You need to really research what you're trading and selling and even then it could flop if you mess up timing or price things incorrectly. That and when I asked Kamizuma he recommended you at least have like 100k at the time to even begin handling broker. It simple requires just a lot of sitting and looking at items in the broker and making judgments. (Could there be more of this item on the market? Could I buy a few of these items and sell them for higher? Should I stock up on this item and sell them at a new patch months away? etc... etc...)
Each of the money-making methods have pros and cons to them but I think Kamizuma is right when he says work smarter, not harder. You can spend your whole Tera career working hard but then there are people who have progressed farther than you ever could because they worked smarter. Just a grain of salt.
Hope this helps!
Because right now, we can keep arguing if gearing up in this new patch is hard or easy, but in reality, you don't really need anything above Frostmetal +0. You'd be doing LITERALLY the same content as you were doing before, with or without Stormcry.
I was sitting pretty good and well on my way to getting top tier gear again before patch.
I wish I had a clue about what effect the new patch would have on all the stuff i had accumulated, because now i have about a million bellacarmium credits that are 100% useless. The thing i hate the most about the new patch is everything i worked so hard for in the past is now totally useless. At least before we could get feed stock out of our old gear, now its worth 20 gold!!!
I used to make a pretty gppd income crafting but that is no longer possible.
I just feel really let down with the state of the game and i'm not sure I even want to play anymore.
And you also have to watch out for other experienced brokers that try to thwart you and put you out of business with their sleazy methods.
How many hours per day?
Have fun breaking RK9 and RK9H shields with frostmetal +0. Pro tip you can't
Korea has a huge playerbase compared to NA. All of NA = One Korean server
You can, use proper etchings for your class, use proper skill rotations for your class, dont be cheap and use at least a couple of consumables. Oh and try to do it with an static party or use LFG, if you try that on IM most of the tanks there are really awful and a party with a good tank does a lot more dps.
For RK9H I am not sure but for normal mode you can do it with Frostmetal.
EME they wanna wait until they earn a lot from players transfer then they actually do something.
merge server never gonna happen until they got all the profit from forcing players to go to higher population server.
people who still wanna play have to pay.
people who cant pay then quit cause server is actually ded
I would say most new players would have easier time getting gear with less gold compared to the last patch. How much gold are you spending to masterwork and on spellbinds just to get perfect rolls?
You can get all the enchanting mats you need from dungeons without buying anything from the trade broker. Darics and plates are the only thing you need to craft. With the prices of darics and plates right now, I would farm talents to sell and then buy darics and plates from the broker. The prices are pretty much the same when you factor in the refining kits and production points (and the 150k just to get the recipe).
The "economy" is only dead for those that wants to play the trade broker because nothing is tradable except talents and gems.
