@ EME or who ever can give me a serious answer

i started playing tera with the no sleep till 60 event and i played mostly every day until around a year ago i don't know what happened then but my ping use to be 120-140 not the lowest but playable i play healers or sorc the most whit that ping it wasn't the easiest but i could play normally then there was some patch and my ping jumped to 160-180 and its been that way ever since and unfortunately it's to high for me to play like that i just wonder if eme changed or did something because i have not made any changes on my end for my ping to jump that much and i'm not talking about lag spikes it's stable 160-180 ping
i really miss my friends and characters on NA

  • Alot of thing could be effecting your service all the way from your computer to servers. Not necessarily emes fault.

i have not made changes to my computer
  • has your isp made changes to their network? Your computer is in the same state it was when you had lower ping no clutter no other installed programs? Cable. fiber, dsl? same service package same amount of users using the network?
  • what's wrong with 160-180?

i have a stable 250 and it's fine. probably not for pvp though.

to your point, probably your isp.

just something to be aware of. internet traffic increases all the time while ISP's don't want to spend money if they can help it ( and they find ways not to) to upgrade or expand their infrastructure. that being the case infrastructure lags woefully behind the demands placed on it by users. a simple rule of thumb, if everyone experiences lag it's the servers (usually, a few edge cases where it may be the last hop to the game servers causing issues), if few experience lag it's the ISP's. internettrafficreport (dot) com can give you an idea of how bad it is...at the time of writing this there are 13 unresponsive nodes out of 37. >.<

All i can say is do a ping to diag.enmasse.com.and post all the info and some one should be able to decipher it and where the ping is coming from , they have for me before and then found out the main cable between me and enmasse hade been cut and i was being routed badly but the only way they could to keep a connection
  • If it started around a year ago, it was probably when they dropped abovenet/zayo as a carrier. it's been messing with pings on and off since then. there's nothing you can do other than trying a vpn such as wtfast.
