If I recall, upgrading to frostmetal is not a 100% chance at 100% xp? But I could be wrong, even though I just did it not that long ago. I wasn't paying that much attention at the time.
Also, still technically a rumor. There is no substantive proof of this story.
I 'm not saying it might not be true--I'm saying that now we have the idea it might be possible, that if this is happening we should surely be able to get some evidence we can take to BHS--because 100% chance should be 100% chance.
Especially if this is happening as often as has been implied, someone should be able to post a screenshot of the gear failing. I know that as I upgrade all 13 of my Twistshard alts, I'll have my finger poised over the screenshot button to catch that moment of success or failure, and I'll have taken a shot before hand, and one a minute after. If I can get that stupid videocapture program running again I will also make sure it is on when I enchant and when I upgrade.
And if all this turns out to be just believable trolls who are laughing at my gullibility--well, whatever.
Come on, people. We have some very smart and dedicated players here. Surely we can find something better than "He said / she said" level proof?
That's not 100% Chance. That's 100% XP, which only gives +30% or +15% chance.
Like I said, a screenshot would be nice, for people curious about this rumor and to forward to Support. I believe it's possible, but this is all still second-hand info relayed through friends and guild-members.
Here, I'll even do this. I have a twistshard alt that has a crap ton of item exp. I'll get a bunch of gold talents and I'll upgrade it to see if I get any failures since it should hold 100% chance for most of it. I'll even record it.
fyi, I found in my limited testing that 100% success chance equaled no failures from getting a twistshard +2 to a frostmetal.
I've had no problems enchanting Twistshard with 100% success rate. Even my Stormcry hasn't gone over 40% success chance to enchant, you'd have to have some really, really bad luck to fail at 100% success rate.

Yeah that's the impression I'm getting, people not quite understanding that maxed item experience doesn't guarantee success after a certain point. My test was mainly for the rumors of people failing on 100% twistshard
