Is terra community dead or something?

For about a week ive been trying to find people to play with in terra.
I have made a post on the forums twice, I have tried inggame aswell but it seems no one cares to play with me(que the sad emo music).
Am i on the wrong server?
I am on tempest reach and my ign is Guan.Yu.
When im in an area it says that all the channels are low.

Is everyone on the pvp servers or something?
Do i need to make a new character on another server(my character is level 30ish)?
I was able to get to level 30ish thanks to this one random guy giving me a buddy code and 2 boosters but after that he disappeared.
I dont think i can or atleast i really dont want to have to make it to level 65 by myself, that would be very boring.

I have been playing terra singleplayer for about a week and it is fun but the main reason im playing terra, an mmorpg and not an rpg like skyrim or fallout i for the massive onlinemultiplayer part.
The game itself is great but it feels like it was not meant to be played past level 34 or 35 alone.

so whats the point of this game then?
Also is there some ultra fast way to get to level 65 so i can play with other people?
  • 99% of the community is at lvl 65. That's where the game truly starts.

Fastest way to 65 would be to spam dungeons, solo or with a party in instance matching and then proceed to join the rest of the community.

Oh the point of game is to have fun and you actually have it when leveling your first character. But you wont wanna level any other char by questing and doing story. You simply wanna hit 65 and get yourself ready for post story (end game) as there are so many things to take care of...

Ultra fast way is press H, choose the instace you can do on your level, hit the button, go do it. Repeat till you hit 60. Ones 60 go do questing in Velikas outskirt, that will give you gear, gold, mats to keep you going. As soon as you got your gear, meaning full set includes jewelry. Start instance runs only 1 of them is good for leveling its Sabex Armory. do till 63, get glypts, gear, do Marcelanius catacamobs. viola

    Something.

This time the game starts at 65 level, which you can get for about 2-5 days (depends how much time you can be online) very easy - just open window with vanguarh quests (press H) and find line with button "find group". After some time you will be invited with random party to dungeon. This is one of the fastest way to get 65 (or you can clear dungeon solo with your avatar). While you waiting for party, you can do storyline quest to see tera world. After 65 up you will find guild. Actually first time after 65 it is easy enough to find random party , but watch a video about dungeon you go to (to know boss mechanics).

Dont worry about unable to find people you can play with at 30 lvl, most people get this level for an hour or two. Remember the most interesting part of the game starts in 65, all before is training and way to acquaint new player with tera lore.

Many people now will say the game starts at 65 and level up is just boring content that should be made much shorter, or removed. I suppose we could already remove 95% of the world, leave only Highwatch as hub lobby, and remove levels completely, and way more people than we'd expect would be very happy by the change.

Why? Because both devs and some part of the community have made level up content boring and utterly meaningless. Before, level up dungeons, even the first one, tried to tech things about teamwork and mechanics. Other parts taught about gathering, and much of the running around was to show people the beautiful world artwork. Some people (most probably Asians because the devs listen to them more) started complaining that level up was too slow, and instead of streamlining the content the devs decided to add Avatar weapons and made the level up content so easy it was made irrelevant.

In recent years, the devs finally started streamlining the content, making several sections of level up shorter but a bit more meaningful. But there's still avatar weapons and most of the level up content is still left as is, making people now dislike level up content to a point where they would prefer it removed, and everyone started at 65. Basically, this streamlining came too late.

I totally hate the concept. Level up is not only supposed to level up the character, but the player's knowledge of the class. They destroyed this and now people go learn their class in the hard mode dungeons(many people I've met on level 65 normal mode dungeons still can't grasp the class yet, so, yeah, HM)...

So TLDR; Level up content has been rendered useless so pretty much everyone tries their best to skip it.

....And yeah, I can't call Tera's end game a full game experience.

I recommend leveling your first character slowly, since it gives you time to really familiarize yourself with the game mechanics so you don't get hit in the face when you hit 65.

Running instances will put you with other players. Join a guild!
  • I faced the same problem at CH. You really level up alone till 60s levels. Just enjoy your first character and read the quests, they are really interesting when you read them (P.S. I thought I even fell in love with Elleon haha). At hight levels find a guild (you can do this here at forum) and enjoy learning new dungeons with guildies. Good luck! If you would decide to change server - try CH and whisper Frozen.Fraya (my main). I will be glad to play together!

I agree, take your time the first time, read the quests--some of them are hysterical. Red quests and dungeons will get you there. Side note--do not expect to advance story in a dungeon with random people. They are almost always there to run the dungeon as fast as possible. Better to go back later when you are seriously overlevelled and solo the dungeon to advance story quests. (How much overlevel you need to be depends on your class and skill.)
  • Most people that are level is alts or just want to rush to 65 doing dungeons like what everyone else is saying at its your first toon take it slow I did when I first play that was when reaper patch took time cause I want to get used to the game the class so on yeah some are he quest are neat you will start to see people in the 60+ zones as well with dungeon.
  • If you were on ascension valley me and my guild totally play with you!

It's very different now than when I first started playing tera. In mid 2014, I leveled by questing and most people did the same. You would run into people out questing, but now the zones are deserted because dungeon spamming is more efficient and faster. Personally, I think Tera should have stream line the questing like in swtor. Flash points, dungeons, and questing are the primary method of leveling in swtor. It works out really well. The side quest were made optional and the amount of xp you gain from the primary planetary and class quest were increased. The problem is BH doesn't have the money to revamp the quest system from 1-65 like what swtor did this last expansion. The questing was adjusted with the new sync level system.
  • TR is definitely not dead. Just try finding an empty channel to do your level 65 VG dailies on. I dare you.

Might be a little more dead when leveling, since as was pointed out, most people are already at 65; but even leveling my alts, I've found many of the lower level areas to be filled with people. Wasn't like that a month or two ago. Ninja really has brought a lot of people back to the game.

No, God no, Tera does not start at 65. It [filtered] dies, slowly at 65.

I had fun leveling up the first 2 times, learning stuff, crafting, getting gear.

At 65 it's just grind for gear and do the same dungeons every day, which kinda sucks. The community is important in an mmo, but Tera feels more like a massively single player game.

Conflate crafting is a step towards better ingame community, since you can craft it for others, and they can help you craft the jewelry for example. There should be more of that in the game.

Leveling up should be slower, too, give people a chance to experience more of Tera, make crafting more important (master means nothing, just a waste of time... why not make VM craftable by masters only, and make getting master harder? People would communicate more).

On that topic, make Alliance rewards better so more people would go there, it's empty as hell now... simply adding the Shade tokens, feedstock, alkahest, hell TITAN EMBERS to the rewards or noctenium store or something would bring more people there. And maybe make it pvp-time all the time.
