Rolling a dps as high ping player.

I used to dps on sorcerer and reaper but since four patches ago my ping has gone crazy. It is never stable. I used to play on 170-180ms, now it's 250+. I plan on rolling a dps, so, I would like to know, at the moment, which is the "less" ping reliant dps class in game? (I already play priest/myst, so don't need to tell me to play heals)

Play another game, it's just not worth to bother with Tera on anything past 250 ms ping tbh ...
Imho, this game is already barely playable on most dps class on stable 170~200 ms, you gonna need third party apps to fix rotation issues and even then there will be huge issue with skill ghosting..
Unstalbe ping is even worse cuz it will mess rly bad with your timings.
Ofc u can clear everything if you put effort on it, but it's not fun at all...
And sorc is already one of the most ping friendly dps classes, idk if u rly can do any better on other class tbh (maybe you can deal better dps on Valk but that's mostly cuz how broken the class is atm..)

250 ms is a good general breakpoint for when you should seriously consider moving on to something else. Sorcerer is already probably the most latency-friendly class since you don't really need to chain skills together. Lightning bolt spam will suffer, but the negative impact will be nowhere near how utterly devastating it would be if you played archer or gunner.

I have played sorcerer decently on 250ms. It's harder, but you can do it if you really want to play TERA (Thankfully now my ping is lower). Anything higher than 300 is pretty unplayable though. :S
  • I think even at 500s you'll be fine if you want to seriously keep playing, the only problem are the lag spikes, the ups and downs are the worst. If you have a stable ping though, it shouldn't be a big problem. I have like 180-230 pings, and it's screwing me over most of times, but I got used to it and I try better, I agree it's not fun at all at some points, but what can I do? I like Tera.

About the 500 pings I said above : I've met some people like 1 year or so ago, and back then, I was getting like 230-250 pings with lag spikes, and everyone were making fun of me, saying stuff like "you can play perfectly fine with 250 pings, we play with 600 pings stable and we're good, no issues with our net, you just suck."

So, there you have it, I never went up to 300 or more, and to be honest, I don't really want to, but if others can play perfectly fine at 300-400 and beyond, then you shouldn't have problems either. That's my experience with the game and the players all around, you can't complain about stuff like that, since there are - probably - worse out there.
  • lol playing tera above 300ms is a joke, how much more for 600ms. what dgns are they running? MC? lel that guy probably do 100k/s dps tops. that is unplayable.

There's one way to combat high ping in TERA, but EME might come to my house and arrest me if I tell you what it is.

    So, I'll suggest Berserker.

Very strong class and can easily be played with 200+ ping no problem. I say that, because you can pre release your charges and still get the full charge effect if you time it well. Might take awhile to get used to, but it's not that bad. Once you get used to it, your performance will be very close to someone with a 2 digit ping.
