AV Market vs MT Market (Merge Please?)

I currently play on AV, and just compared the gear for sale between the servers.

https://imgur.com/a/oBxlK

The pics in Velika are on MT, and the ones in HW are in AV.

I honestly think this reflects the activity of the servers, and its depressing to know that there is such a difference.

I would transfer like many others, but I have a lot of alts and dishing out that much money just to transfer is not so appealing.

Can't something be done? I'm sure other players feel this way also.

this comes up every 3rd day or so...

Why people want merges THAT much? Reminder that many people have tons of characters and may cap the count on some server. Maybe not my case as I only capped/am about to cap AV, the others are more or less disposable, but for some others it may not be an option.

Also keep in mind names, you can only have the same name once in a server, who keeps the name if it conflicts?

As has been said, when Highwatch, Valley of Titans and... what even was the last one got merged, they were really ridiculously low on population, to the point of no LFGs or E-R-P on chats. AV may be bad but not completely horrible yet.
  • ^ Lake of Tears server.
  • I am actually very surprised and speechless seeing so much drop on prices on gear, like, frostmetal piece 40k only? I'll be damned! Then again, it IS a pvp dedicated server, and it kinda makes sense to be so low, since people are actively playing there mostly for pvping all day and stuff, right? Still, I am impressed though....maybe it's time to lvl up that poor 11 lvl berserker I have in there, lmao.

What? Most people pve on MT, or a mix of both. There are dedicated pvpers sure, but the majority of players are not that. (Also gear is for both pvp and pve.) There are just more players on the server. This means more runs, translating to more mats making previous vm gear, and more chances for things like frostmetal to drop.

Dedicated PvPers are indirectly forced to run PvE content so they can stay in a competitive level because of gear diferences.

I dont say is a bad thing but in a PvP server there should be more focus on Rewards for PvP activities like BGs and maybe making a slight changes on CU. It's not logical to forcé the CU event to last longer so guilds can get loots from Bams and that way make it worth the time expent there.

Basically Bam's loot is the only reason for smaller guilds trying to be active in that contest, the hope to snipe away that reward from dominant guilds.

You are not the only one, fam. Also you are not a special snowflake, unfortunately, like every one of us lol. Do you have any idea about how many people from AV, CH, TR, failed HW, FF... have transferred to MT? And I ensure you everyone struggled with their alts. But they did it anyway and there is absolutely no one who has regrets about it. I come from CH, I'm on MT for 2 years now, I transferred 3 of my most played characters leaving 12 vm5-6 geared alts behind and just leveled new ones all over during the lvling events etc on MT, it does require time and will but if you really don't want to stop playing, just transfer already, they are not going to merge just because your server's broker isn't too active lol. Remember, you're not the only one and many have already been in your shoes...
  • @mmeg Thanks for the reply, always nice to hear people's story.

I completely agree with you, but what really keeps me from transferring is the fact that I could use that transfer money on EMP.

Especially with Black Friday sales coming up. Last year, with 100 US dollars I was able to make 1 million gold. So in my head, me transferring is incurring a loss of about 500kish gold (if I transfer 2 or 3 chars). Would have to much salt to handle.

When I had saw the broker difference, it had such an impact that I felt like I needed to say something. Hopefully it helps in raising awareness of the problem, because some people don't know and don't believe there is a problem.

It is also a cycle, new players that actually care would research which servers to play on, and hence causing the smaller servers to never become populated.

On a side note, recently Vindictus has merged their servers, and man it feels alive. It is refreshing, and just feels better seeing more people.

Main reason there is no server merge, in my opinion.
Server transfer seem to be highly profitable.
Amused, server transfers also assist in making servers more inactive.

Dude, yeah. It is absolutely the main reason why server transfer is a thing/exists. If there weren't dead servers, people wouldn't transfer at all. Sure they could merge and leave us with two servers or something like Ktera, but I think they'd rather keep 2-3 dead servers and 1 actually active, so people will have no reason to keep playing on a dead server and will eventually spend their money to transfer. I don't blame EME and other region's publishers, honestly, because everything else is pretty much farmable and free on the gaming content of Tera, paying to win is totally optional, in the theory anyway. So yeah... Servers transfer exists for a reason lol.

Well... you need to keep in mind that you transferring would be one lifetime thing, then afterwards you can always buy more emp. Once you've settled in MT or wherever else you'd like to go, you can get back to buying your emp and making gold. There's something else, on MT you'll easily sell your emp in a daily basis. There are lots lots of buyers, as you might have taken notice from the MT's broker. Plus, if I were you, I would transfer before black friday, at least one character, sell stuff from black friday (if you can get any) make gold (because there actually is an active market in that server, more than others, anyway) because you WILL sell your black friday stuff and then whenever you can get more EMP, transfer the rest of the chars you think is absolutely worth your irl money. We use to think it's too complicated but it actually isn't. If you can turn your gold into items to sell on the new server, it's just fine, and you'll sell stuff pretty quick on MT, I can tell.
  • just dont care what people said here ,
people who comment in here they re not even face the real problem in FF AV CH.
    i feel you
  • AV is so dead right now that you can't even find a DPS for RK anymore. I run as a lancer with a healer alot and we just end up disbanding because we can't find a dps for 1 hour.
A dead server has a good sides though that everyone kinda knows each other.
